~(Y/n)'s POV~

We were in Lestallum visiting Iris for a few days. Gladio was worrying about Iris so much, I had to take him to Lestallum without Noctis, Ignis, and Prompto. Iris ran over to us with a bright smile. "(Y/n)! Gladio!" She shouts our names happily. She hugged her brother then looked at me. "I hope he's treating you well, (Y/n). If he isn't, I'll make sure he pays for it!" She grabs my hands in hers. "He's treating me very well, Iris. I'll make sure to call you if he does anything to make me upset."

"I can hear you two," Gladio said, grinning from ear to ear. We couldn't hold in our laughter and giggled together at him. Iris guided us to her place and we enjoyed a snack and some tea. After our little get-together, Gladio and I decided to explore Lestallum. We walked through the streets, hand in hand, with permanent smiles. Something caught my eye and I told Gladio I would be back.

I bought a necklace that would look amazing on Iris. It had a cute origami fox on the end of a beautiful silver chain. I was heading back to Gladio and saw he was talking to a woman I've never seen before. He was smiling while he chatted with the woman. I couldn't bring myself to approach them. Without hesitation, I hid behind a building. My eyes never left the two. The woman was much more beautiful than me. She had long, black hair that shined in the sun. Her body was perfect and didn't have any flaws. My heart dropped as they both laughed.

I pulled out a small mirror I had in my pocket and examined myself in it. My (h/c) hair wasn't beautiful and was only pulled back in a ponytail. Tears stung the corner of my eyes as I realized how my body looked. I wasn't like her in any way. I tried to shake my doubt out of my mind, but it kept lingering. I peaked once more and what I saw broke my heart. The woman was hugging him. He didn't even try to push her away. My walls broke and the tears streamed down my cheek. The mirror fell from my hands and shattered on the ground.

"I knew it..." I mutter sadly. "I'm not good enough for him and never will be..." I run as fast as I can through the streets of Lestallum to get away from what I just saw. "I could never make you happy..."

~3rd Person POV (With Gladio)~

"It was nice seeing you again, Gladio. I haven't seen you since you were little," the woman said with a smile. "I'm sure Iris would love to see you," he smiled. "I'll make sure to see her before I leave." The woman waved farewell and vanished into the busy streets. Gladio glanced in the direction (Y/n) disappeared in. "She's been gone for a long time." Gladio went to search for (Y/n), worried that something happened to her. A glint from something caught his attention. He spotted something broken on the ground.

Gladio picked up what looked a pocket mirror. He takes a closer look at it and realizes it's (Y/n)'s. He gave it to her for her birthday last year.

(A/n: Do these pictures bother y'all? I'll stop them if they do)

The mirror inside was shattered along with a few of the jewels that decorated the front of the mirror. "(Y/n)!" He shouts desperately. Gladio puts the broken pocket mirror away. He runs frantically through the streets of Lestallum calling out (Y/n)'s name over and over again.

"Excuse me, have you seen this girl?" Gladio asked while showing a picture of (Y/n) on his phone. The man he asked nodded. His desperation grew and grew with each passing moment. "She headed out of town not too long ago. I saw she was crying." Gladio's heart shattered at what the man said. He never liked seeing (Y/n) cry. It always broke his heart when she did. Gladio thanked the man and stormed off to find his precious (Y/n).

~(Y/n)'s POV~

I ran all the way out of Lestallum to find myself in unfamiliar territory. I crashed to the ground on my knees while breathing heavily. Tears continued to stream down my cheeks relentlessly. "I'm not good enough for anyone..." My sobs grew louder and louder with each poisonous thought. "Gladio deserves someone's who's beautiful and perfect in every way. I'm... Not even close to being perfect..."

Suddenly I heard a loud roaring sound and looked up. A Behemoth was patrolling the area around me. It was getting closer to where I was. I tried to move, but my body was frozen in fear. Before long, the Behemoth was only a few feet from me. Luckily it has yet to spot me. It roared loudly and I yelped as I covered my ears form the loud, sharp noise.

The Behemoth must've heard me yelp because it was now heading in my direction. I still couldn't bring myself to move my body. It's as if I've lost all control over it. I was waiting for it to kill me but a strong arm suddenly wrapped around my waist. I was about to scream, but another hand clamped over my mouth. I struggled against whoever was holding me, but they tightened their grip on me. "(Y/n)." I recognized Gladio's voice easily. I stopped struggling, but he didn't let me go. We were hiding behind a rock formation not far away from the monster.

The Behemoth was getting closer and closer to our hiding spot. My body began to shake with fear. Gladio noticed and adjusted our position. I was now sitting in between his legs. He moved his hand from my mouth and wrapped both of them around me. He pulled me close to his chest to comfort me. We stayed like that until the Behemoth left. We both sigh in relief after it leaves. Gladio didn't waste any time and spun me around. "What the hell were you doing out here?" His eyes were full of worry. There was no hint of anger in his eyes or voice.

"... I saw you talking to that woman," I mumble. Gladio seemed a little confused at first, but soon figured it out. "(Y/n), that was a close friend of my mother's. We've known each other for years. Why did you run?"

"I saw how she looked and then she hugged you. Gladio, you looked so happy. I've never made you smile like that before. I-" Gladio silenced me with his lips. After our sweet kiss, he leaned his forehead against mine. "Don't say anything like that ever again. Ever since I met you, you've been my entire world. No one else can make me smile and laugh like you," he whispered sweetly. More tears spilled from my eyes at his kind words.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and cried. He stroked my (h/c) hair gently. It made my whole body relax and I slumped against him, exhausted from all the running and crying. "(Y/n), you're perfect to me. I don't care what anybody else says. If they say otherwise, they better be ready for a beat down." I couldn't help but smile. We exchanged a short but passionate kiss. "Oh! I got something for Iris." I show him the necklace I found. "She'll love it," he said. I giggled and kissed his cheek. "Let's head back. I'm worn out."

Gladio nodded and gathered me in his arms. He carried me all the way back to Lestallum without complaining. I gave Iris the necklace and she tackled me to the ground in a hug. "I can't wait for the wedding!" Gladio choked at the sound of his sister's words. She giggled and hugged me tightly. "Iris, don't break (Y/n). I need her in one piece," Gladio said with a grin. "I won't! She's like a sister to me. I'm hoping you both will have kids soon." Both Gladio and I choked on air. Iris giggled and left us to ourselves.

"She's a storm..." Gladio groans. I nudge him with my elbow. "And you're an even bigger one," I grin up at him. A smirk spreads across his face. He wraps an arm around my shoulders and pulls me into his side. "So, shall we get busy?" I started to blush. I knew exactly what he was talking about. He chuckled and kissed me on the forehead. "Don't worry. I'll wait until you're ready." He lays his hand on top of my head gently. I covered his hand with both of my smaller ones. "I love you, Gladio."

"I love you too, (Y/n)."
