~3rd Person POV (with Ignis)~

Ignis was walking down the hallway of the palace to inform the King he will be out of Insomnia for a few days. After he told the king, he was on his way out. Halfway to the door, he was stopped by Noctis, Gladio, and Prompto. "Specs, where are you going?" Noctis asked his advisor. "To see someone dear to me," he replied. Their eyes widened in shock. They had no idea that Ignis was in a relationship. "Who's the lucky lady?" Prompto asked with a grin.

"Gentlemen, I don't have time for your questions. I must head out." Ignis stepped aside and walked passed them. "W-wait, Iggy!" Prompto shouts. "We could go with you," Gladio said. Ignis stopped and turned towards them. "If it will get you all off my back." Ignis headed to the Regalia with everyone else following closely behind. They all got in the Regalia and sped away from Insomnia. "She doesn't live in Insomnia?" Noctis questions. Ignis shook his head and kept his eyes on the road. "She lives near a lake by herself," he spoke. After a few hours of hearing a million questions, they arrive at the lake.
A small house caught their eyes.

"You said she lives alone?" Gladio asked. Ignis nodded and put the keys to the Regalia in his back pocket. "Before we head in, I wish to warn you all." The other three turned towards him in confusion. "(Y/n) is a young lady suffering from depression. Do not ask about her family. They abandoned her when they learned about her depression. Treat her well."

"That's horrible," Prompto muttered sadly. "What kind of family abandons their daughter?" Gladio growled angrily. Noctis' expression was a mixture of sadness and anger. "As I said, be careful about what you say around her," Ignis emphasized. They followed him to the door and Ignis knocked gently. The door opens slowly and a girl with (h/c) hair and (e/c) eyes comes into view. Noctis, Prompto, and Gladio stared at the beautiful girl in front of them. Her eyes met Ignis' and a smile broke out on her face. "Iggy!" She jumps onto him and hugs him tightly. Ignis couldn't help but smile. He wrapped his arm around her and hugged back.

"It's been awhile, (Y/n). How are you?" He asked. Her smile grew even bigger. "Much better now that you're here." Ignis runs a gentle hand over her cheek. "I brought a few friends. I hope you don't mind," Ignis said. She shook her head. "Not at all. I just made some tea. Come on in." (Y/n) guided them to her living room with a smile.

~(Y/n)'s POV~

I headed to the kitchen to pour enough tea for all five of us. While I was preparing the tea, a knife caught my eye. My fingers began to shake as I reached for the knife. "Maybe just a few cuts." The image of the knife sliding across my wrist filled my mind. I picked the knife up and brought it to my wrist. "(Y/n), are you alright?" Ignis' concerned voice made me drop the knife. He entered the kitchen and I smiled as big as I could. "The tea needed to boil a little more. Sorry for the wait," I said as I poured the tea into cups. Suddenly Ignis was behind me and trapped my body against the counter with his. He placed his hands next to mine on the counter.

"Tell me when you're feeling down. I don't want you to result to harming yourself," he whispered in my ear. I looked down in shame. "I-I'm sorry, Iggy." He turns me around and holds my cheeks in his hands. He leaned his forehead against mine. "Do not apologize. I wish I could share your pain. Seeing you like this breaks my heart." I covered his hands with my smaller ones. He helped me bring the tea to the others. They also introduced themselves one by one.

"It's nice to finally meet you all. Iggy does talk about you all more than you think." I grin at him and hear him clear his throat. "Really? I hope they're all good things," Noctis said. "... Mostly," I said and giggled. Noctis glanced at Ignis with a slight glint in his eyes. "So, (Y/n), how long have you've known Iggy?" Prompto asked. "Since we were little." All three of them choke on their tea at the same time. "Is it really that hard to believe?" Ignis asked his friends. They all nodded and cleaned themselves.

A few hours passed and it was time for Ignis and his friends to leave. "It was such a pleasure talking to you all. I hope to see you soon!" I wave as they enter the Regalia. I smiled at Ignis and got a genuine smile in return. They all waved farewell and I headed back inside. I sat on the couch and pulled out a photo album. I flipped through the pages and saw countless pictures of me and Ignis. As I was about to finish, a picture of my parents fell out. I picked it up and my eyes filled with tears. "Waste of time... Waste of space... Never should've been born... We never loved you..." The last words from my parents filled my mind.

"I don't deserve love..." I toss the picture album down and head outside. The lake was filled with fish that swam in all different directions. "Ignis... This whole time... I've been wasting your time..." I stepped into the lake and took small steps forward. As I approached the center of the lake, the water reached my chin. "I'll enter a world that's pain free and won't have to waste anybody else's time." I closed my eyes and dived into the water below. I was running out of air quickly, but refused to surface. My world was growing dark and my life was flashing before my eyes.

Suddenly I felt myself being pulled out of the lake and onto dry land. A warm sensation spread over my lips along with someone pushing on my chest. "(Y/n), don't leave me!" I could hear Ignis' voice through my hazy mind. "What do we do?!" I hear Prompto shout. Ignis pushed on my chest again and I began coughing up water. I open my eyes slowly and see a worried Ignis looking down at me. "Thank goodness..." He sighs in relief. I also saw everyone else was with him. Ignis helped me up and dried my hair off with a towel from the Regalia. I leaned my head against his chest to hide my face. "Could you all wait in the car?" Ignis asked his companions.

"Yeah," Noctis responds. Ignis picks me up in his arms and carries me inside. He sets me down gently on the couch. He finishes drying off my body and tosses the towel to the side. He sits next to me and grabs my cheeks in his hands. "Why?" I knew exactly what he was asking. "I thought it would make your life easier..." Ignis leaned his forehead against mine. "If you left, my life would be miserable." I was taken back by his words. "So... I-I'm not a burden?" I ask. He kissed me on the cheek and smiled. "You never have and never will be a burden, (Y/n)." His words made me so happy that I began to cry. Ignis held me close and didn't let go.

"Promise you won't leave me?" He asked. I stared through his glasses and into his beautiful eyes. I nodded and kissed him on the cheek. "I promise, Ignis."
