~(Y/n)'s POV~

(A/n: A beautiful outfit for a beautiful person😘)

I walked down the hallway of the library with the only sound of my heels hitting the shattered tile below. My fingers grazed book spines as I searched for a new book to read. "To think I haven't read all these books yet with all the free time I have." I pulled a book off the shelf and opened to the first page. I began walking and reading to my bedroom. I was about to turn the corner when I heard a voice. "This place is huge!" The voice shouts. His footsteps were approaching and I hid in the shadows. I closed the book and held it close to my chest.

Blonde hair came into view and I raised the book above my head. I brought the book down on the man's head and he cried out in pain. It wasn't enough to knock him out but it gave me a chance to escape. "W-wait!" He shouts. The man began chasing me and I tried to lose him in the layout of the library. I turn another corner and ran into something. My body flew back and the book fell out of my hands. I landed on the hard floor and rubbed my head. When I looked up, I saw I ran into a person and not a thing. He had tattoos on his arms and wore a jacket. I slid back on the floor to get away from them.

"It can't be," a man with glasses said while looking at me. The man I ran into offered me a hand and I slid even further back. "Hey, we aren't going to hurt you," the man with raven hair said. I heard running and saw the blonde appear. "Hey, you found her," he said. "Are you saying you've already ran into her?" The one with tattoos asked. He nodded and smiled in my direction. "If I may." The one with glasses steps forward. "Are you the keeper of the library?" He asked. I nodded and tried to stand up. The blonde cane over and gave me a hand which I accepted with a little hesitation. He also handed me the book I dropped. "I thought the keeper of the library died centuries ago," said the boy with raven hair.

"My name is (Y/n). I am the keeper of this library. I've been the keeper ever since these walls were built," I announced. "Does that mean you're like... Hundreds of years old?" The blonde asked. I nodded and their eyes grew wide in shock. "Before we go on, let's introduce ourselves," the man with glasses said. They all introduced themselves one by one and I couldn't help but smile. "It's nice to meet you all. Welcome to the library of Terania," I greet.

"A pleasure, (Y/n)," Ignis said. I smiled and beckoned them to follow. I led them to the inner chamber where all the books were written in ancient scripture. Ignis pulled one book off the shelf and dusted the cover off. He opened it and his eyes grew wide. "Forgive me. I forgot to mention that all the books in the Terania library are written in ancient scripture. If you are looking for a specific book or event, I will help you in anyway possible."

"We're looking for information about the Kings of Lucii," Noctis said. I went upstairs to the second level and pulled out a thick book. Book in hand, I headed back down and placed the heavy book on a small stone pedestal. I flipped through the pages as all of them gathered around me. "What would you like to know?" I ask. "You can read this?" Prompto asked. I smile and nodded at the blonde. "Anything will do," Noctis replied. I read a few pages to them about the history and lineage of each King. "There's even information about you, Prince Noctis," I said. All their eyes widened in shock. "How is that possible?" Gladio asked.

"As keeper of the library, it is my job to record all events and important people on Eos," I answer. "Everything in this library is written by you?" Prompto asked. I nodded and closed the book. I led them further into the room and showed them a crystal I use to see everything and everyone. "This is how it's done. The crystal shows me everything. Past, present, and even the future. I keep a close eye on the future to make sure time does not veer onto the wrong track."

"Exactly how old are you, (Y/n)?" Ignis asked. I laid the book down gently and looked over my shoulder at him. "Two hundred thousand years old..." I grow quiet and take a few steps away from them. "That's... So cool!" Prompto shouts. I flinch at his shout and almost fall. I steadied myself and stared at him in shock. "W-why is that cool?" I ask. "Well, how many keepers are as beautiful and smart as you? Most old people are cranky and mean." I felt my cheeks heat up. Prompto realized what he said and his cheeks soon matched mine. "I-I... U-uh..." He stuttered and couldn't form a single word. I turned away and cleared my throat. I faced them again and took a step towards the crystal.

"I-I will show you how it works. I'll show you the present." I put my hands on the crystal and it glows a light blue. An image appears in the crystal and I see someone approaching the library. "Ardyn..." I mutter the evil man's name and quickly step away from the crystal. "You all need to hide, now!" I shout. I pull Prompto along and the others follow closely behind. I guide them to a bookshelf and pull a book out. The wall next to us reveals a hidden passageway. I let Prompto go and told the others to use the hidden passage to leave the library. "We can't just leave you!" Prompto yells. "I'll deal with Ardyn. You all need to go before he spots you here. This will lead you to the back of the library." I take the torch off the wall and snap my fingers. The torch burns brightly as I hand it to Prompto.

Noctis, Ignis, and Gladio were reluctant just as much as Prompto to leave. "We can help you deal with him," Noctis said. I shook my head and nudged the prince into the passageway. "He's asked me to locate you. I told him I would try my best. Now, I know I was wrong to help that man. I'll turn him away from here so you can escape safely." I pushed the others into the passageway and sealed the entrance. "(Y/n)!" Prompto shouted from behind the wall. I pushed the book back into place and went back to the crystal. Ardyn sauntered into the room with a smirk on his face. "Ah, here you are. I was wondering where you were, my lovely (Y/n)."

"I don't belong to you, Ardyn," I spat at the man. He held a hand over his heart as if my words shot right through him. "Oh, you wound me," he cries. I roll my eyes and cross my arms. "What do you want?" I glare at the man. "You know exactly what I'm here for," he replies sharply. "No, I have not seen the Prince of Lucis." Ardyn took a few steps closer and stood in front of me. "It's not nice to lie, (Y/n)." He pulled out an image of me and Prompto in the hallway. Ardyn tore the picture and leaned closer. "Now... Where are they?" His smirk turned dark and I took a few steps away from him. I picked a book off the shelf and threw it at him. He blocked it and I took that chance to run.

I ran down the hall and tried to lose Ardyn. I heard a gun fire and an extreme pain shot through my leg. I screamed in pain and fell to the floor. "Be a good girl and tell me where they are." Ardyn kneeled next to me and aimed his pistol at my head. "Go ahead and pull the trigger. I've got nothing to lose," I fire back. He finger tightened around he trigger and I closed my eyes. Suddenly Ardyn grunted in pain and I opened my eyes slowly. Prompto had pushed Ardyn away from me. He stood in front of me and kept Ardyn away from me.

"Prompto..." He looks over his shoulder and smiles at me. Footsteps were heading towards us and I saw Noctis, Ignis, and Gladio. "Prom, take (Y/n) to the car," Gladio said. Prompto nodded and scooped me up in his arms. I whimpered in pain as the wound on my leg throbbed. "P-Prompto." I wrapped my arms around his neck so I wouldn't fall. He ran all the way to a black car and sat me in the backseat. He examined my body and found the bullet wound on my leg. His eyes were full of fear when he saw how much blood I had lost. "Don't worry, (Y/n). I'm going to give you an elixir." Prompto searched in his pockets and pulled out a small vial.

"Drink it. But, it will taste horrible." I giggled and quickly drank the liquid in the vial. I felt a warm sensation and glanced at my wound. The bullet hole was healed and Prompto cleaned up my blood. "Thank you, Prompto." A goofy and warm grin spreads across his face. We heard footsteps approaching and Prompto pushed me down in the seat. He covered my body with his as gunshots rung out all around us. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled my body close to his. The gunfire ceased and Prompto helped me out of the car. "There you are." Ardyn's voice chilled me to the bone.

Prompto grabbed me and pulled me close to him. He aimed his pistol at Ardyn as he approached us. "Don't you lay a hand on her," Prompto growled lowly. Ardyn stopped and wore an unwavering expression. "Not even you can stop me, Prompto." Ideas ran through my head as I thought of a way to get rid of him. My mind stopped racing as I stepped away from Prompto and put my hands together. "No!" Ardyn shouts. He fired his pistol as I finished my chanting. A bright light envelops us and blurs our vision. The light subsides and the goddess of chaos stands before me. She stares down at me with black, empty eyes. "Lady Elvira, I have summoned you to ask a favor."

"Ask away, keeper (Y/n)."

"A man threatens my existence. Is there a way you can deal with him."

"For you, my dear, anything." She grins and turns towards Ardyn. She aims her hands at him and dark magic consumes them. Ardyn tries to attack Elvira but she's too strong. I step in front of Ardyn and glare at him. "You know what's best. Leave now or I'll make sure you won't see the light of day ever again," I growl. Ardyn doesn't say a word and vanishes into thin air. Elvira nods with a rare smile and disappears as well. I felt a hand on my shoulder and saw it was Prompto's. "Are you both alright?" Ignis asked as he, Noctis, and Gladio joined us. We both nodded and I looked back at Prompto. I took his other hand and held it with both of mine. "Thank you, Prompto." I smiled at the blonde and he began to blush.

"N-no problem," he stutters. My smile grew and I kissed him on the cheek. His blush deepened and I couldn't help but laugh. I turned to the others and noticed they were all grinning. "You are all welcome to the library of Terania. Feel free to visit anytime. I could use the company." They nodded and smiled. "We'll be back soon. We've got much more on our plates we have no idea about," Gladio said. They all got into the car and my eyes met Prompto's. I waved and smiled at him and a warm smile spreaded across his face. I watch as the car vanishes out of my sight.
