44) Noctis (Part II)
~3rd Person POV~
Ever since (Y/n)'s body crystallized, Noctis has been trying to find a way to break her free. He was in the library with Ignis, Gladio, and Prompto searching through countless of books. "There's nothing here," Noctis growls. He slams the book shut and leans against the table to support himself. "Don't worry, buddy. We'll find a way to save (Y/n)," Prompto said to comfort his best friend. "Yes, we won't stop until she's back here, safe and sound," Ignis stated as he put a book back on the shelf. "Who else is going to keep us in line if she's gone?" Gladio asked with a smirk. Noctis couldn't help but chuckle.
"You're right. I'll ask my father if he knows any way to help her." Noctis left and headed to the throne room. His father, Regis, smiled when he saw his son enter. "What may I help with, son?" He asked. Noctis stood in front of his father with a serious expression. "(Y/n) sacrificed herself to return the Crystal to Insomnia. I came to ask if you know how to free her from the crystallization." King Regis couldn't believe the news. This was the first he has heard of it. (Y/n) was a sweet girl who always helped him with everything. He broke off the marriage between Lady Lunafreya and Noctis so his son could marry her. (Y/n) may be a commoner, but she is a strong and brilliant girl. He thought she would make the perfect wife for Noctis.
"I may be able to help," the King said. Noctis' eyes lit up with happiness and hope. He followed his father to his room in the palace. King Regis pulled out a book from a bookshelf and handed it to Noctis. "You'll find a way to help (Y/n) in the book. Bring her back safely." Noctis nodded and left his father's room. He ran to the library to tell the others. Noctis flew through the doors and got everyone's attention. They gathered sound him to see what had him hyped up. "Where did you get this book?" Gladio asked. "My father gave it to me. He said we should be able to find a way to save
(Y/n) in this book," Noctis answered.
Noctis quickly flipped through the pages until he reached a chapter titled 'Crystallization'. They all read through the chapter and figured out how to get (Y/n) back. "Let's head out," Noctis announced and closed the book. Prompto, Gladio, and Ignis nodded in unison. Ignis took the keys to the Regalia and headed to the car with the prince. Prompto and Gladio were already in the car, waiting. Ignis revved the engine and sped off to the ruins where (Y/n) was.
A few hours pass and they reach their destination. Noctis jumps out of the car and storms into the ruins. The others follow close behind him. They reach the inner chamber and find (Y/n) where they left her. Her blue, crystallized body reflected the little amount of light that peaked through the cracks in the wall. Everyone gathered around her with what they needed to bring her back. Ignis drew the incantation from the book on the ground in front of (Y/n). Noctis opened the book and made sure everything was going all according as planned. In the end, they followed all the steps. "Now, all we have to do is wait," Ignis said.
"Should we head back?" Prompto asked. "You can, but I'm staying. What happens if she returns and no one's here for her?" Noctis made a strong argument. Prompto decided he would stay with his best friend to wait for (Y/n). Ignis and Gladio also stayed with them. They went out of the ruins to get what they needed to stay the night.
~(Y/n)'s POV~
My world was suddenly filled with light. I opened my eyes slowly to see what was going on. The crystal that surrounded my body was slowly falling off to the ground below. I was able to my everything except for my legs. I waited until my whole body was free and walked through the ruins. I found the entrance to the ruins and saw a familiar car. "Noct?" I look around and see the others making camp a few feet away from the car. "I'll get it~!" Prompto chirps. He heads over to the Regalia and my eyes meet his wide ones. "Hey, Prom," I greet casually. No words left his mouth as it hung open.
"Prom, what's taking so long?" Noctis asked from the campsite. "G-guys, get over here!" He shouts. They all flew to their feet and ran over to the car. Once they saw me, their faces all shared the same expression. "Guys, you're going to have bugs in your mouth if you don't close them," I tease. Noctis was the first to snap out of the trance. He ran over and tackled me in a hug. "You're back..." He whispered in my ear. I hugged him back without hesitation. We stayed like that until Gladio picked us up. Prompto joined in and began crushing both me and Noctis.
"Now we're a family again!" Prompto cheers. Gladio drags Prompto away with Ignis behind him. I was wondering where they were going. Before I could ask, Noctis connected our lips in a gentle and warm kiss. Our sweet kiss lasted as long as we could go without air. We pulled apart, gasping for air. "That's one way to say hello," I smirk. Noctis chuckles and leans his forehead against mine. "Even though it's only been a couple of days, I've missed you more than you could imagine," he said. "How did you do it?" I ask curiously. Noctis shows me a book he received from his father. He flipped to the chapter he used to free me. I wrap my arms around him and kiss him on the cheek.
"It's so nice to be able to move my body and see everyone again. I thought I would've been stuck like that forever," I said cheerfully. Noctis pulls me close and nuzzles his face in the crook of my neck. "I'm glad I'm able to hold and kiss you again," he whispered in my ear. "Me too, Noct." We kissed again and didn't let go of each other.
