~(Y/n)'s POV~

"So... What do we do now?" Prompto asked as we sat around our campsite. I was sitting with a sleepy Noctis laying his head in my lap. I was messing with his hair and thinking of things we could do. "We could go to the beach," Gladio suggested. "Let us go. We do deserve a relaxing break," Ignis said. "The beach it is!" Prompto shouts in glee. I giggled and felt Noctis twirling my (h/c) hair around his finger. I noticed his eyes were closed and he was smiling. I ran my fingers over his cheeks and his smile widened.

"When should we head out?" Gladio asked. "Tomorrow morning will give us enough time to reach Galdin Quay with enough daylight for us to enjoy the beach," Ignis answered. The moon was high in the sky and bathing us in its beautiful glow. "Let's get some rest," Ignis said and headed to the tent. Prompto and Gladio followed shortly and I nudged Noctis gently. "Noct, let's head to the tent." He only replied with a hum and I rolled my eyes. I pulled on a piece of his raven hair and he flew up. "What was that for?" He rubbed his head where I yanked at his hair. "Time to get some sleep." I stand up and Noctis groans. "I could've just fallen asleep like that..."

I glance over my shoulder and raise an eyebrow. "Then how was I supposed to sleep?" I ask. "Good point," he said and we headed to the tent for the night. Without hesitating, Noctis pulled me down next to him and wrapped his arms around me. He rested his head in the crook of my neck and his breathing became slow and steady. I closed my eyes and welcomed sleep with open arms.

-Next Morning-

Morning came and I exited the tent. The sky was gloomy and no sunshine could penetrate the gray clouds. "I guess the beach is going to have to wait." I felt a small drop of rain hit me on the nose as I packed up the little things. I was soon joined by Ignis and Gladio. "So much for the beach," Gladio groaned. "It seems we'll have to find something else to do," Ignis added. Prompto jumped out of the tent in a happy manner and it was soon replaced with sadness. "Aw, man!" He shouts. "Sorry, Prom. We'll go to the beach on our next break," I say to the disappointed blonde. He nods reluctantly and helps us clean up the campsite. "Is Noct not up?" Gladio asked. Prompto shook his head and I sighed.

"I'll get him up," I say and head to the tent. The others followed behind me to see if I could pull it off. I had a plan and I knew it was going to work. I enter the tent and kneel next to my sweet boyfriend. I run a hand over his cheek and whisper in his ear. He flies up and I see his cheeks are bright red. I started laughing and kissed him on the cheek. "Good morning, sleepyhead." Noctis averts his eyes from mine and crawls out of the tent. "How?!" Prompto shouts. "A little known secret~" I wink and follow Noctis. Ignis, Gladio, and Prompto stare at me in awe. Noctis was staring up at the gray sky when I found him. "What's wrong?" I ask him.

"Something doesn't feel right..." I knew exactly how he felt. Since I woke up, a strange feeling has been brewing inside me. The others joined us with grave expressions. I held a hand over my chest as I felt a burning sensation. I gasped in pain and almost collapsed. Noctis caught me in his arms before I hit the ground. "(Y/n)!" He stares into my (e/c) eyes with his worried blue ones. The others gather around me with the same expressions as Noctis. "T-the Crystal..." I mumble. Noctis grabs my hand and holds it tightly. "Did something happen to the Crystal?" Prompto asked. "It's... Gone..."

They all gasp and the pain in my chest grows. I scream in agony and Noctis holds me close to him. "We need to contact Cor. If the Crystal is gone,
(Y/n)'s life is in danger," Ignis said. Noctis nods and pulls out his phone. Cor picks up immediately and all I hear is yelling. "Dammit!" Noctis tosses his phone on the ground. "What did he say?" Gladio asked the prince. "It's true... The Crystal's been stolen."

"Does that mean... We'll lose (Y/n)?" Prompto asked sadly. "No. There's no way in hell we're going to lose her," Noctis said sternly. My vision was blurring and my breathing became heavy. "She's connected to the Crystal. If we can find the person who took the Crystal, we can save her. But..." Ignis stopped himself. "Ignis... Tell me," Noctis ordered. Ignis sighed and glanced down at me. "We only have a few days until her whole body turns to Crystal and shatters." Noctis picked me up in his arms and took me to the Regalia. "Cor said Ardyn was behind the attack. He was last seen headed towards Tenebrae," Noctis said as he laid me in the backseat. "It'll be littered with Magiteks," Gladio said and got in the car with Prompto.

"Naturally," Ignis said and started the car. Noctis held me close as the Regalia sped off. Hours passed and the pain was starting to subside. I went to sit up but Noctis wouldn't let me go. "Noct, the pain's gone." I rest a hand in his cheek. He covers my hand with his and stares at me with worried filled eyes. "Are you sure?" I nodded and Noctis helped me sit up. The Regalia stopped and I saw we were in front of abandoned ruins. "Why're we here?" Prompto asked. "Cor was tracking Ardyn and this is where he lost connection," Noctis said. We all got out of the car and stared at the massive ruins before us. I went to comb a hand through my hair and noticed my whole right arm was crystallized.

I gasped and hid my arm behind my back. "(Y/n), you okay?" Prompto asked. I nodded and took a step backwards. "Peachy," I reply with a fake smile. I could tell that they knew I was lying. "(Y/n), don't hide anything from us," Gladio said. "I-I'm not!" I deny. "Show me your arm," Noctis said and took a step towards me. I shook my head and took a step away from him. My back hit the Regalia and Noctis took that chance to grab my arm. His eyes grow wide in shock as my right arm comes into view. "Y-your arm." I pulled it out of his grasp and turned away from them. "Let's hurry and get the Crystal back." I walk pass their paralyzed bodies and head into the ruins. "(Y/n), wait!" They shout after me. I ignore their calls and travel deeper into the ruins.

I was suddenly tackled and held close to someone's chest. "Don't move..." I recognized the voice. Noctis held me close and I heard a low growl in front of us. A monster I've never seen before was heading directly towards us. Noctis and I held our breath and waited for the monster to pass. A few seconds pass and the monster disappears. "Was it blind?" I ask. Noctis nods and helps me to my feet. "Sorry about tackling you," he said. I shook my head and took his hand into my crystallized one. "Does it hurt?" He asked. I was confused until I saw he was staring at my arm. "No. Not any more. Noctis, listen. We'll stop Ardyn before my whole body crystallizes." I gently kiss him on the lips and he leans his forehead against mine.

"I can't live without you, (Y/n)," he whispered. "We're all here for you!" We hear Prompto shout. We turn around and see the others smiling at us. I couldn't help but smile at the goofy blonde. "I know none of you will let me down," I said softly. We traveled into the deepest part of the ruins and found a chamber with a large stone throne in the center. The man we were looking for sits up on the stone throne and grins at us. "I see you've found me, your highness," Ardyn said with a grin. His eyes met mine and I glared at him. "Oh, and the lovely (Y/n) is with you as well. What a coincidence!" He chuckled deeply and claps his hands together. "You stole the Crystal of Lucii. Return it now or die where you stand," Noctis said sternly.

"There's no need to rush. Sweet (Y/n) has a few days before she turns." Ardyn's eyes never left my form and I grit my teeth. I summon my blade and charge at him. He was surprised by my attack but was able to block my sword. "You're a feisty one," Ardyn chuckled. I push him back and put a protective barrier over Noctis, Prompto, Ignis, and Gladio. "(Y/n), what are you doing?!" Noctis tries to break the barrier but fails. "I'm connected to the Crystal. It's my job to ensure it is returned safely." I look over my shoulder at him. "We can help you!" Prompto shouts. I shook my head and slashed at Ardyn. "No, it's too dangerous. The Crystal has only one catalyst now and that's me. As time goes on, the Crystal will glow with dark mana. Once I destroy Ardyn, I'll be able to stabilize the Crystal with my own powers."

"Won't that kill you?" Ignis asked. "No, I'll only turn to crystal. But promise me..." I stare into Noctis' beautiful blue eyes. "You'll do anything to free me from my crystal prison." Noctis lays his hand on the barrier and nods slowly. I smile and thank him. "How sweet. Too bad this isn't going to be a happy ending," Ardyn said and pulls out his weapon. He attacked me relentlessly and I was on defense the whole time. A shock went brought my chest and I felt the crystallization spreading. The pain was unbearable and I couldn't hold my blade anymore. Ardyn took the advantage and aimed right at my heart. He charged and his blade pierced my shirt. "What?!" He shouts.

The crystallization has spread to my chest and his sword can't penetrate my skin. I grab his blade and yank it out of his grasp. Ardyn takes a few steps back and I approach him slowly. "You know what? You can play with a friend of mine." I grin and a small symbol glows underneath me. I manipulate the rocks around me and use some of the crystal from my body to create a beast.

"Keep him busy," I order the beast standing before me. It growls and charges at Ardyn. I pass the two and head towards the Crystal. I lay my hands on the Crystal and feel the familiar warmth. "This shouldn't take long." I use all of my mana and repair the Crystal of Lucii. The Crystal glows a brilliant purple and the chamber is filled with its light. The light dissipates and the Crystal vanishes. "Where is the Crystal?!" Ardyn shouts angrily as he fights the creature I created. "Back where it belongs," I say and smirk at the man. Without another word, he pushes the creature back and vanishes into thin air. I dispel my barrier around the others and they run towards me. Before I could get a word out, my whole body turned to crystal.
