42) Ignis

~(Y/n)'s POV~

"Galdin Quay is so beautiful!" I chirp. We were here to catch a boat to Altissia so Noctis and Lunafreya could wed. "The next boat leaves in fifteen minutes," Ignis informed us. All of us nodded and headed towards the docks. I was leaning over the side and saw fish everywhere. "Don't fall in," Ignis said. I playfully shoved him and he grinned. "If I do, you'll save me," I said confidently. "Very true." He kissed me on the cheek and I giggled. The boat arrived and we all got onboard. Ignis and I stood at the bow of the ship and watched the waves. Suddenly I felt eyes on me and turned around. A man was staring at me and I was feeling uncomfortable. "(Y/n), are you alright?" Ignis asked.

"Y-yeah, just thought I saw a bird." I mentally slap myself at that terrible excuse and hope Ignis doesn't delve too deep. He doesn't and I sigh in relief. I could still feel the eyes of the man staring a hole through me. I started to feel even more uncomfortable and shrink against Ignis. He gently takes my hand and holds it tightly. I lean my head on his shoulder and he leans his against mine. "I can tell when you're lying," he whispered. "I-I know. It's just... Nothing. You have too much to worry about."

"You worry me even more when you don't tell me."

"I'll tell you when we get to Altissia."

He nods and I kiss him on the cheek. I went to go find the others and saw they were teasing Prompto as usual. I heard footsteps behind me and turned around. No one was there and I shrugged it off. "Hey, (Y/n)," Noctis said and waved. I smiled and waved back. We all talked and laughed together like a family. I felt the same pair of eyes and glanced from the corner of my eye. The man was leaning against the railing and staring at me.
"(Y/n)?" Prompto called my name. "Sorry, lost in thought." A figure stepped next to me and I saw it was Ignis. He was obscuring the view of the staring man.

"Specs, you're acting strange," Noctis said. I also noticed he wasn't acting like his usual self. "There's seems to be a man onboard whose taking a shining to (Y/n) and can't keep his eyes off of her." He fixes his glasses and gestures towards the man leaning against the railing. All four of them face him and glare at the man. His eyes widen in fear and he runs away. Gladio was about to chase after him but Ignis stopped him. "Once we dock, I'll deal with it," Ignis said sternly. "After all, she's your girlfriend~" Prompto grins goofily at the two of us. "We'll make sure he doesn't touch her," Noctis said. Ignis thanked him and the others.

The boat finally reached Altissia and my smile grew even bigger. I jumped off the boat and looked at all my surroundings. "Don't run off, (Y/n)," Ignis said. I nodded and giggled like a child. An outfit in a shop caught my eye and I asked Ignis if I could go look. He nodded and I left with a skip in my step. I was greeted as I entered the shop and admired the outfit. "Would you like to try it on?" A girl asked me. "I'd love to!" She smiles and takes the outfit off the mannequin. I find the changing room and try on the outfit.

I left the changing room and heard gasping. My attention snapped in the direction it came from. Ignis, Noctis, Gladio, and Prompto were all staring at me with their jaws on the floor. I waved a hand in front of their faces. The first one to respond was Ignis. His eyes scanned my body with a slight blush on his cheeks. I giggled and he pushed his glasses up his nose. He pulls out enough Gil to pay for the outfit and hands it to the girl who helped me. "She'll wear it out." Ignis grabbed my hand and guided me out of the shop. Gladio, Noctis, and Prompto snapped out of their dirty thoughts and followed behind.

"W-what about my other outfit?" I ask. "Don't worry. I shall replace it when we return to Insomnia," he answered. I nodded and entwined our fingers together. We walked next to each other without leaving any space. We enjoyed the views of Altissia until we headed to the gondolas. "If it's alright with you, may I explore a little longer and wait for your return?" I beg. The others got on the gondola while Ignis and I talked. "Well..."

"Please!" I put my hands together and give him puppy dog eyes. Ignis cracks and gives in. "Alright, we'll be back in a couple of hours. Meet us back here and be careful." Ignis kissed me gently on the cheek and got on the gondola. They all waved as the gondola slowly drifted away from me. I smiled and waved back. After their gondola disappeared, I went back to the main street and began looking in the shops.

An hour passes and I've decided to sit down and rest. At least I wasn't carrying any bags. Nothing specia caught my eye so I decided to save the rest of my Gil. I continued to walk through the streets of Altissia until I felt someone following me. I didn't turn around and headed to a more secluded part of the city. I pretended not to notice and lured the person into an alley. I used magic to hide myself and waited. The person following me ran down the alley and looked around frantically. I recognized him from the boat. He was the man who kept staring at me. I unveiled myself and threw a dagger. The dagger embedded itself in the wall with the man's shirt collar. He tried to pull my dagger out but failed.

"You are very annoying," I spat at the man. He shrieked and tried to pull the dagger out once again. I threw another dagger and pinned his arm next to his head. "I-I'm sorry!" He shouts pathetically. I roll my eyes and glare at the man. "Why are you following me?" I ask. "I-I saw you on the boat and t-thought you were b-beautiful," he said. I crossed my arms and continued to glare at him. "Thank you, but I'm already taken."

"I know. I followed you to see if your boyfriend was with you. Once I saw he was gone, I was going to ask you to dinner."

"Listen... Ignis is the only one for me." I took my daggers out of the stone wall and let him go. He falls to the ground in defeat. "You better go. I won't report you if you leave now." He nods and storms off. I pinch the bridge of my nose and sigh. I check my phone and see it's almost time to meet back at the gondolas. I put my phone away and head back.

When I arrive, I spot Ignis and the others getting off the gondola. I ran over and wrapped my arms around Ignis. "Welcome back!" I chirp. He immediately hugs me back and runs a hand through my hair. "Did everything go well?" I ask. "Yes, everything went well. Did anything happen while we were gone?" He questioned. I wasn't sure if I should tell him. Ignis released me and put his gloved hands on my cheeks. He lifted my face up until our eyes met. "(Y/n), tell me what happened." I stared into his eyes and knew I couldn't lie to him. "That man from the boat... He was following me."

The air around us grew heavy and I tried to calm them down. "Where is he now?" Noctis asked with anger laced through his voice. "Don't worry about him. I already dealt with him." I placed my hands over Ignis' gloved ones. "Did he do anything to you?" Ignis asked as he examined my body for injuries. "No, I told him about you and that you're the only one for me. He ran off in a hurry and that's the last I saw him." Ignis sighs in relief and leans his forehead against mine. "We all were worried about you the whole time. Some more than others," Prompto said and grinned at Ignis. Ignis ignored Prompto's last comment and stared into my (e/c) eyes.

"As long as you're safe, I don't care about anything or anyone else," he whispered for only me to hear. I kiss him on the lips and smile. "Just remember, you're Noctis' advisor. I think he might need to come before me." Ignis pecks me on the forehead. "Even if he is the prince, you're the most important person to me."
