~(Y/n)'s POV~
When I woke up the next morning, I left my tent and saw no one around. The Regalia was gone and so was everyone else. I quickly pulled out my phone and dialed Gladio's number. It rang three times and went to voicemail. "You've got to be kidding!" I shout in annoyance. I started pacing back and forth while thinking where they could've gone. A small piece of paper caught my attention and I picked it up quickly. I read the message on the paper.
Head to where we first met
I roll my eyes and crumble the piece of paper into a ball and toss it over my shoulder. I change my clothes and pick up my helmet. "At least my ride is still here." I hop on my bike and started the engine.
I sped down the empty road to where I first met Gladio, the Crow's Nest in Hammerhead. I dreaded how far it was but the ride cleared my mind. An hour passes and I reach the diner. I walked in and searched for them. "Of course they aren't here..." I grumble. "Excuse me, are you (Y/n)?" A waiter walked up to me. "Yes, I am." He handed me a small piece of paper that was folded up. I opened it up and saw more of Gladio's handwriting.
Head to where we first kissed
I could feel my eye twitching as I threw the paper away. My mind kept wandering to why Gladio would do something like this. I left the diner and got back on my bike. Next stop, Galdin Quay. Another long drive to go. I rolled my eyes and went as fast as my bike could go. A few hours later, I arrived at Galdin Quay. I headed to the beautiful beach and searched for Gladio. Neither him nor the others came into my field of vision. I pinched the bridge of my nose and looked down at the sand. A message was scrawled out in the sand and I took a few steps to read it clearly.
Hop on a boat to Altissia
I sighed and headed to the docks. Luckily, I didn't have to wait long for a boat to arrive. The boat ride was quiet and peaceful. I leaned over the side of the boat and watched all the colorful fish swim by. A smile found its way onto my lips as the boat docked in Altissia. I got off and caught a gondola to the center of the beautiful city. When I arrived, I was greeted by Lady Lunafreya herself. "Milady." I bow and smile at her. "No need for formalities,
(Y/n). I've known you longer than Noctis." She grabs my hand and smiles. "I've been waiting for your arrival." She doesn't go into details and guides me to the palace. She takes me to her room and I see a dress on her bed. Luna picks up the dress so I can get a better view.
"It's beautiful," I gasp. Luna's smile grows and she hands me the dress. "I picked it out just for you." I take the dress from her and changed out of my normal clothes. The dress fit perfectly and I admired it once more. "You look beautiful, (Y/n)," Luna said and began fixing my hair. I thank her and she put light makeup on my face. "Now, there's someone waiting in the garden for you," she said. I was confused but followed her to the beautiful garden. Once there, I saw no one and Luna disappeared.
"Luna?" I search around for her but couldn't find her. Suddenly hands covered my eyes from behind and my world was darkened. "Guess who?" Someone whispered in my ear. I began laughing and knew who it was immediately. "Gladio~" I chirp. I hear him chuckle and he spins me around. "Wow, you look... Beautiful," he said and kissed my cheek. "Thank you, Gladio. But... I do have questions." I cross my arms and stare into his eyes. "I already know what you're going to ask," he said. "So... Why the wild goose chase? You directed me to Hammerhead, Galdin Quay, and Altissia. I haven't been able to put my finger on it the whole time."
"About that..." He rubbed the back of his neck nervously. I grab his other hand and hold it gently. "You can tell me anything, Gladio. You're the love of my life." His face started turning red and he tried to hide his face. "Anything?" He asked. I nodded and smiled at him. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box. He kneels in front of me and I gasp. "(Y/n), this is going to kill me if I don't ask you now. Will you marry me?" Without hesitation, I wrap my arms around his neck and laugh joyously. "Yes! A thousand time! Yes!" I shout in glee. He sighs in relief and wraps his arms around my waist. "I was afraid you would've said no."
I loosen my arms and rest my hands on his cheeks. "There's no way, even in a thousands years, I would say no to you. I love you too much, Gladio." I connect our lips and we share a passionate kiss. After our long and sweet kiss, Gladio slides the ring on my finger. "It fits perfectly," I said with a huge smile. "I had some help from Lady Lunafreya," he admitted. "So... The clues were all leading up to you proposing to me."
"I'm sorry, (Y/n). I shouldn't have done it."
"No! Don't apologize. It was... Kinda fun. Even though I was a little mad at you for leaving without a word, I'm glad I didn't give up. It was totally worth it in the end."
"You are way too good for me, (Y/n)." Gladio leans his forehead against mine and closes his eyes. I was about to kiss him again until I heard clapping and whistling. Ignis, Noctis, and Prompto emerge from behind a bush and congratulate us. "Can I help plan the wedding?" Prompto asked with gleaming eyes. Gladio and I exchanged looks and nodded at the blonde. "Yes~!" He cheers. Noctis and Ignis also apologize for all the running around and I forgive them. The three left us to ourselves and we sat by the fountain. "Now all we have to do is get everything ready," he said. I couldn't hide my happiness and started giggling. "This is going to be amazing!"
