~Wolf's (you) POV~

I was running through the woods following a pleasant and mouthwatering scent. I ran as fast as I could to find the source of the scent. When I reached a campsite I saw four men sitting around the fire and eating. My eyes gleamed as I made contact with the food. I haven't eaten in days and my stomach was growling like crazy. I snuck behind them and found an empty pot with food residue on the inside. I stood on my back paws so I could get more to eat. The pot was still a little warm from use but it was bearable. I'm surprised I haven't burn my paws yet. I tried to get one more lick in but the pot fell on top of me and my whole world was surrounded by darkness.

~3rd Person POV (with Prompto)~

All four men were sitting around the fire and enjoying the delicious meal Ignis had prepared for them. Prompto went to take another bite but he stopped when he heard a noise. "What was that?" Gladio asked, seeming to have heard the noise as well. "I'll go check," Prompto offers. He sets his dish down and heads over to where he heard the sound. Prompto saw a pot moving around and started to freak out. "U-um guys?!" He shouts. The others run over and spot the moving pot. "Did something get trapped underneath it?" Noctis asked. "Most likely an animal searching for food," Ignis replies. Prompto kneels next to the pot and slowly picks it up. "What the?" Gladio started.

"I-it's a wolf pup!" Prompto shouts as he spots a small pup with black and blue fur. The pup shook and flung food everywhere. They all admired the beautiful pup and wondered where its family was.

Prompto and Noctis got closer to it and saw that it was a girl. "She's so cute!" Prompto shouts gleefully. "It's strange to see a wolf pup with no mother. We should return her to the forest before we run into a pack of wolves looking for their baby," Ignis said. "Oh, come on, Iggy! She can stay for a little while. It won't hurt anyone," Prompto said and stuck a hand out towards the pup. She licked his fingers as he ran his other hand through her soft fur. Noctis did the same and scratched behind her ears. She leaned into their touch and barked softly in joy. Gladio kneeled next to Prompto and poked her nose. She licked her nose and sneezed. They all laughed and smiled at the pup before them.

"Alright, she can stay for a little bit," Ignis said, giving into the pup's cuteness. Prompto picked up the pup in his arms and took her to the fire. He sat her in his lap and fed her pieces of his meal. She ate them happily and licked his fingers again. Noctis came over with his plate and fed the vegetables to her. "Your highness..." Ignis scolds. "What? She's hungry and I don't like them. She can have them," he said with a smirk. "Maybe you should give her a name," Gladio suggests. Prompto's eyes gleamed and he picked the pup up. He raised her so she was right in front of his eyes. "How about... (Y/n)!" Prompto declares. The pup leans in and licks him on the nose. "I guess she likes that name," Noctis said. Prompto grinned and put his nose to (Y/n)'s cold and wet one. She began licking his face all over as he laughed.

"We should get some rest. We have a long drive tomorrow," Ignis informed the others. They all grunted and groaned in annoyance as they headed to the tent. Prompto laid (Y/n) gently on the ground and began heading to the tent. Before he entered, he turned to the pup. "(Y/n), are you coming along?" She started wagging her tail and ran towards him. He laughed lightly and entered the tent. It was a little crowded but Prompto made sure (Y/n) had enough space. She snuggled up next to him and kept the blonde warm the whole night.

~(Y/n)'s POV~

I woke the next morning and yawned. I realized I fell asleep snuggled up to Promtpo. I put a paw on his face and whimpered to wake him up. He slowly opens his eyes and smiles at me. "Good morning, (Y/n)~" he chimes. I lick his cheek to convey my feelings to him. Too bad I can't show him my human form. It would freak him and his friends out if a random girl with (h/c) hair and (e/c) eyes were to be in their tent. Prompto stretches and leaves the tent with me in tow. He took me to a black car and opened the trunk. "Don't tell Iggy," he smiled. Prompto handed me some berries and bread to eat. I gladly snatched them from him and scarfed it up. We return to the fire and Prompto starts scratching behind my ear. I let out a soft bark and drew closer to him.

"You're usually not the first one up," Gladio said as he emerged from the tent with Ignis. "Well, a certain someone woke me up," Prompto said and smiled at me. I howl and sit on my hind legs. Gladio comes over and pets me gently. Ignis just watched as he stands near the tent. "We need to head out. Prompto, try waking up Noctis," Ignis said and began packing up the campsite with Gladio. Prompto sighed in annoyance and slugged over to the tent. I trotted next to him and entered the tent to wake up the prince. "Wakey wakey, Noct~!" Prompto shakes Noctis and tries to wake him. The only thing he got in response was a hum. I pulled on Noctis' hair and licked his cheek to wake him. He grumbles and gets up after all my effort of licking a pulling on his hair and cheek.

"I'm up..." He said and yawned. Prompto gives me a goofy smile and we head out of the tent with Noctis in tow. The whole campsite was all cleaned up and packed except for the tent. Prompto and Noctis took care of that while I sat and watched the sun rise above the horizon. "We can't leave her!" I hear Prompto shout. I walk over to the four men and see Prompto arguing with Ignis. "We can't keep her. I'm sure her family is probably worried about her," Ignis stated. "If she had a family, wouldn't we have seen them by now?!" Prompto furiously shouts. Gladio separated the two and sighed. "I'm sorry, Prom. We can't take her with us," he said. "Prom, she's a wild animal. There's no way we could take her with us," Noctis said with a sad expression. I sat there and listened to their conversation. I felt I would cry. I thought I had finally found someone that cares about me.

"(Y/n)..." Prompto's eyes found mine and I looked up at him sadly. "We need to go. Say your goodbyes, Prompto," Ignis said and got into the car. Everyone except for Prompto got into the black car. My ears were droopy and I felt like I would burst into tears at any moment. Prompto picked me up and hugged me in his warm arms. I nuzzled my nose into his cheek and whined. "I'm sorry, (Y/n)..." He whispers sadly. He gently lets me go and sets me down. Prompto gets into the backseat and his eyes never leave me. The car starts up and I quickly get to my feet. Prompto leans over the side of the car to watch me as the car drives away.

'I've never had someone care for me like Prompto' I thought. That's when I made up my mind. I started to run after the car with my small legs. I realized I wouldn't get far in this form and mentally sighed. I transform into my adult form and start chasing the car at full speed.

"Stop the car!" I hear Prompto shout. I make eye contact with Ignis through the rearview mirror and his eyes grow wide in shock. He slams on brakes and stops perfectly. Prompto jumps out and runs over to me. "(Y/n)?" He asked. I licked his nose to signal I was (Y/n). He laughed and hugged me. "You've gotten bigger!" He chuckles. "How is that possible?" Gladio asked in shock. "No idea, but it's pretty damn cool," Noctis grinned. "Maybe she doesn't have a family?" Prompto pondered.

"Now that we've seen what she can do, it's possible she's a lone wolf," Ignis stated. "Does that mean we can take her with us?" Prompto asked quickly. Ignis fixed his glasses and nodded. "Yes, (Y/n) can join us." I wish I could express how happy I was right now. I jumped up and down in excitement and went back to my pup form. Prompto picked me up in his arms and took me to the car. The others got in and we were on our way to a new place.
