23) Gladiolus
~(Y/n)'s POV~
We all sit in silence as the train heads for Tenebrae. I was sitting next to Gladio and noticed he was glaring at Noctis from our seat. I saw the ring Lady Lunafreya gave Noctis. He was staring at it intently in his hand. Gladio quickly stood up and called Noctis out. He grabbed the prince by his collar and soon the argument grew out of hand.
"Hey, calm down!" Prompto stands up and tries to stop the argument. Gladio shoved him away and I cover my ears. I hated it when they fought like this. "STOP IT!" I shout at the top of my lungs. The argument stop and Gladio glanced at me with a heartbroken expression. He knew how much I hated fighting but did it anyways. I stood up from my seat and helped Prompto up to his feet. He thanked me and I couldn't smile or say anything. I spun around and faced both arguing males.
"Enough of this! Both of you need to stop! We all saw what happened in Altissia and don't need a reminder! Why can't you both just see this hurts the people around you?!" I felt tears streaming down my cheek. "(Y/n)," Gladio mutters my name and lets go of Noctis. He tries to take a step towards me but I back up. Prompto and Noctis were shocked by my sudden outburst and I don't blame them. I couldn't stop crying and wiped my eyes. Noctis and Gladio both looked ashamed of themselves at making me cry. I felt Prompto lay a gentle hand on my back. "I'm sorry, (Y/n)," Gladio said.
"It's too late for apologies, Gladiolus." He was surprised that I used his whole first name. I walked past him and ran to another car of the train.
"(Y/n)!" I didn't stop when I heard their desperate shouts. I found myself at the very back of the train. The car was empty and I sat in a seat. I brought my knees into my chest and watched the scenery pass by. "A beautiful lady such as yourself shouldn't be crying." I saw the reflection of a man in the window. I didn't recognize him and scooted away from him. He sits next to me and I feel uncomfortable. "What do you want?" I spat.
"I saw you crying and I thought I could comfort you," he said. I glanced at him and saw he had violet hair and amber eyes. He also wore a black hat. "Leave me alone," I growl. "Don't be like that, (Y/n)." My eyes widened in shock. How does he know my name? I couldn't hide my surprise and the man laughed. I stood up feeling even more uncomfortable and started to walk away. Before I could reach the car in front of me, I felt a hand yank me by my (h/c) hair. I yelled in pain and my back hit the floor. I gasped for air as I felt a hand wrap around my throat. The man pinned my legs down and started strangling me. "You're just a stupid girl who's in my way. It's about time I get rid of you," he grinned evilly at me. I clawed at the hand wrapped around my throat and used all my strength to push him off of me. My body was growing weaker from the lack of oxygen and couldn't do anything.
"Get off of her!" The man on top of me was kicked off of me. I gasped and coughed as oxygen returned to my lungs. I moved to my knees and tried to crawl away. My arms were shaking and I fell back on the floor. I was suddenly picked up in someone's arms and saw the familiar blonde hair. Prompto was supporting me while Gladio stood in front of us. "You all never know when to quit," the man said. He took a step towards us and I flinched. Prompto noticed and held me close to him. "Don't touch her," Gladio growled lowly. The man stuck his hands up and backed away. "I know when I've failed a mission. I'll be on my way." With those last words, he disappeared.
"(Y/n), you're shaking," Prompto said. I couldn't speak and just stared at the spot where the mysterious man once stood. Gladio faced us and looked at me with worried eyes. Prompto let me go and gave me to Gladio. He wrapped his arms around me and hugged gently. I gripped the back of his jacket and started to cry. "I-I was so scared..." I say through sniffles. He strokes my hair gently and brings me closer to his chest. "I'm sorry, (Y/n). I should've known better. You hate when we fight and I still did it."
"I-I'm sorry I yelled at you both. I just... Snapped." I rest my head on his chest. "I've never seen you so angry before," he chuckled. I began laughing with him and looked up. "I guess I should yell more often. It got everyone's attention. I'll have to remember that," I grin. Gladio swallows hard in fear. I couldn't help but playfully nudge him and giggle at his reaction. He adjusted our position to where he was sitting on the floor of the car with me between his legs. Gladio gently kissed the back of my neck and shoulders. It tickled and I started to giggle. "Ticklish?" He asked. I could tell he was grinning from the tone of his voice. "Oh no no no no. I know exactly what you're thinking." I quickly stood up but I failed in getting away. Gladio pulled me back down and began tickling me.
My eyes were watering and I was out of breath by the end of the tickle session. I felt exhausted because of all the laughing I did. I rested my head against him and could feel myself getting drowsy. "Guess I went a little too far," Gladio grinned. "Just a little, but you cheered me up. That's enough for me." I closed my eyes and welcomed myself into the world of dreams.
