192) Ignis

~3rd Person POV~

"Ugh, I don't wanna go to the library!" Prompto whined.

Noctis, along with Prompto and Gladio, eyed the advisor who was leading them to the grand building just a few blocks away from the Citadel. The three were absolutely confused as to why they were heading to the library. They had been teasing Ignis about how he should find a girlfriend and settle down for awhile. When the tactician sent them a grin, he led them out of the Citadel and they followed him with curiosity. He had told them they were heading to the library to meet someone.

"Maybe we are finally meeting Iggy's girlfriend," Gladio chuckles.

Ignis stopped in his tracks and turned to face them. "Precisely."

"Wha-no way, you're lying," Noctis said.

"I am not one to fabricate such a ludicrous anecdote," Ignis replies sternly.

The three froze with wide eyes. Prompto was the first to find his voice. "Wait, you're serious?!"

Ignis simply nods before continuing to the library. The trio snap back to reality and run after the royal advisor. Gladio strode next to Ignis and smirked down at him. "So, what's her name?"

Ignis sighs in annoyance, ignoring the brute before entering the library. The silence inside the building was comforting to the tactician but suffocating to the others.

"So, who're we looking for?" Noctis asked.

"A young lady with (h/c) hair and (e/c) eyes," Ignis replies.

"Still won't give us her name, eh?" Gladio raised an eyebrow at him.

"A mystery that will only be solved by finding her," Ignis cockily answers. Splitting up, the four search the library for the young woman Ignis had described. A few people were in the library, but no one matched the description so far.

However, Prompto was the first one to find a girl that fit the profile. She was sitting on top of a tall ladder with her nose in a book. He also took notice she was wearing glasses, which Ignis failed to mention. Clearing his throat, he called out to the beautiful girl. "U-um, excuse me?"

The girl didn't even hear him and continued to read. The sound of the blonde's voice brought the other three over. Ignis gazed up to see his lover lost in the pages of her favorite book. With a smile, he called out to her. "My dear, you have guests."

The girl snapped her gaze from her book to Ignis and the others. "Oh, Ignis, this is an unexpected visit. You usually call or text me beforehand."

"Hold on, you two call and text each other all the time? How come we've never noticed?!" Prompto asked.

"Our conversations are not for prying ears or eyes," Ignis admits. Gladio was about to open his mouth and spew a dirty thought, but the royal advisor silenced him. "None of which are brewing inside your mind."

The girl descended the ladder nimbly with the book hugged to her chest with one arm. She smiled warmly at the four and introduced herself to her guests. "I'm (Y/n). It's nice to meet you all. Ignis talks about each and every one of you."

The trio was in utter shock. They still couldn't believe Ignis had a girlfriend who was breathtaking and he kept it from them. Now, they could no longer tease him about his missing love life.

Ignis stood next to (Y/n) and the three realized how much shorter she was than him. They also noticed how the two lovebirds wore almost the exact same style of glasses. Their jaws dropped to the floor when Ignis had laid a gentle kiss on her cheek, making the young woman giggle at the sensation.

Ignis noticed the three were staring at (Y/n) and cleared his throat. "Gentlemen, it is impolite to stare."

Noctis shook his head, freeing himself of his trance. "Sorry, still tryin' to comprehend you have a girlfriend."

"And a beautiful one at that," Gladio adds with a smirk.

"You must be Gladio. Ignis warned me of your womanizing behavior," (Y/n) said, pointing at the shield. The man's playful expression fell from his face hearing the comment. She then moved on to Noctis and Prompto, leaking what information Ignis had shared with her. The royal advisor smiled victoriously once he saw (Y/n) had made them, once again, speechless.

After a long silence, (Y/n) smiled while leaning a head against Ignis' arm. "So, I hear you make fun of my dear Iggy because he has no girlfriend. Am I proof enough that he does have a love life or do I need to-"

"No!" The three men shout in unison.

"Good! Glad to hear it."

Prompto became curious and asked the question he, Noctis, and Gladio were dying to ask. "How long have you two been dating?"

The two glanced at each other before answering in sync. "Two years."

Gladio felt himself choke on air. "And we're only meeting now?"

"As I stated earlier, prying into one's life is uncivil. There was no need for such an encounter," Ignis replies coolly.

"Very true, but I'm glad to finally meet you all. Though... Ignis does rant about how you three are bad influences and that's just one reason he has kept our relationship a secret."

"Just one reason? I'm afraid to hear what the others are..." Noctis murmurs.

"Now, off you go," Ignis shoos the three away.

"You want us gone that bad?" Gladio asked.

"Let's just leave 'em. Specs deserves a break from all the hell we put him through today," Noctis defends.

Ignis and (Y/n) watch as the trio leaves the library without protesting. They both sigh in relief once the door closes behind them. "I'm so glad they're gone," (Y/n) mumbles, leaning her body against Ignis'.

He gladly supported her weight and smiled down at her lovingly. "As am I." He peered down in her arms to spot the book she was reading. "Have you not read this title before?"

She cranes her neck upwards to stare into his emerald eyes with her (e/c) ones, sticking her tongue out in the process. "It's a good book. I'll read it as many times as I want."

Ignis chuckles before kissing her on the lips. "I may have to read it myself."
