~(Y/n)'s POV~

When I opened my eyes, I groaned in pain and shook my head to rid myself of the stars that were forming in the corners of my eyes. Finally taking in my surroundings, I saw a bunch of people looking down at me with curios and frightened expressions. My whole mind did a double-take and saw their clothes. "Renaissance style? Are we at some type of fair?" I ask. When those words left my mouth, everyone around me yelled out in horror and scattered. Some of them hollered a few phrases that weren't in English.

"Italian? We've gotta be at a Renaissance fair," I state, getting to my feet. My mind raced through hundreds of thoughts until I realized Prompto wasn't with me. "Uh, Prom?" I call out while scanning my surroundings. Of course, I get frightened looks and a few glares for some odd reason.

When I couldn't find him, I became frantic and ran through the streets. 'This place looks exactly like Italy from the 15th century,' I thought as I ran.

My train of thought was derailed when I ran into someone. When I apologized, I look up to see a young man who was gazing at me like a piece of meat. "Oh, great..." I grumble. Turning on my heels, I broke out into a sprint. I didn't get too far before one of them grabbed me from behind and pinned my arms behind my back. "Hey! Let go, asshole!" I snarl.

"We've got ourselves a feisty one!" One of them chants. Glaring, I kick the man who was holding me where the sun don't shine. "Tu cagna (you bitch)!" He shouts as he frees me. I sprint into the crowded streets and hide to escape them. The group of men pass my hiding spot and I sigh in relief. However, my moment was short-lived as someone grabbed me from behind, placing a hand over my mouth. I try to claw at the person who was holding me, but I couldn't do anything because of the way they were latching on to me.

"(Y/n), calm down! It's me."

Hearing a familiar voice, I finally relax. Prompto lets go and I immediately spin on my heels to crush him in a hug. "Oh, gods-I was so scared when I couldn't find you!" Prompto hugged me in return and buried his head in the crook of my neck. "I almost had a heart attack when you weren't beside me when I woke up," he whispers.

Our happy moment was ruined by a chuckle. Looking pass Prompto, I see someone I recognize from a game he loves to play. Building up the courage, I finally ask the one question I desperately wanted the answer to. "Uh, Prom-where are we?"

"About that... We kinda got sucked into Assassin's Creed. Not sure how, but I ran into-"

"Ezio," I finish. The assassin grins when he hears his name leave my lips. He bows slightly and our eyes meet. "I am honored to meet you, bella (beautiful)."

"Womanizer" was the first word that came to mind when Prompto told me about his character. He does lose his playfulness towards women later, but I could tell from the way he was looking at me that he still was messing around.

"So... did you get all your fanboying out when you first met him?" I ask Prompto in a hushed voice. He nods with a goofy smile and slightly flushed cheeks. A small giggle emits from my throat at his honesty.

Ezio broke our hug and guided us to a few horses. The assassin turned to me and asked if I would ride with him, but Prompto lifted me up onto the other horse before I could answer. His actions earned a chuckle from Ezio as the sharpshooter hopped on behind me.

"You know how to handle a horse?" I ask.

"How hard can it be? We ride Chocobos all the time back home."

"Prom, horses are a different story. Be careful when changing gates."

"Don't worry, I won't let you fall."

He wraps his arms around me and takes the reins in a swift motion. I leaned against his chest as he flips the reins to get us to a slow pace.

"Keep close. Word of two strangers has spread throughout all of Firenze. I will take you to my family's villa in Monteriggioni. You'll both be safe with my uncle until this problema is under control," Ezio explained.

"What problem?" I ask.

"It seems you both have caught the eye of the House of Pazzi-especially you, bella. The one who grabbed you in the streets was Vieri de' Pazzi. Before I could jump in, you escaped."

After listening to Ezio, Prompto's hold on me tightened. He rested his chin on my shoulder and grumbled nonsense under his breath. As he held me closer, I remember playing with Prompto and killing one of the members. I couldn't put my finger on who it was.

"Wasn't it one of Vieri's men who gave Ezio the scar on his lip?" I ask Prompto in a hushed voice. Prompto nods and smiles like a goofball. "So, you were paying attention when I was playing." I roll my eyes and huff. Prompto continues to smile at me like the giddy boy he is.

After two hours on horseback, we stop for a break and let the horses drink at a nearby stream. My back and behind were aching from such a long trip. When I stretched towards the sky, a loud crack resounded from my back. Frozen, I look towards Prompto and Ezio to see them staring at me.

"That was loud," Prompto chuckles.

"Well, we have been sitting on a horse for two hours. My body is stiff."

Ezio watched our interaction with a smile. After the two of us went silent, the assassin began asking questions. "You two are clearly not from Firenze or Roma. Where is your home?"

"That is an excellent question, Ezio. We don't even know ourselves," I reply honestly. Prompto nods in agreement. "We just... woke up here."

"Ah, I see. You also wear strange clothes. I am trying to think if I've ever seen a foreigner wear such attire."

"I don't think you will. It's... one of a kind," I respond. Ezio went quiet and ceased asking questions. I felt a little worried that he would change his mind and leave us to defend for ourselves. Though Prompto has played the game, all the events are out of sync because of our presence in this world. Hopefully, we will find a way home quickly.

As we were preparing to leave, the sound of horse hooves against dirt caught our attention. A group of people were approaching us. I recognized one of the men as Vieri. "Dannazione (dammit)!" Ezio hollers. Without thinking of the consequences, I summoned my bow and fired three arrows. Each one lodged between a man's eyes, instantly killing them. The only one who I didn't get was Vieri. Seeing his companions dead, Vieri gazed at me with fear filled eyes.

"May I?" I ask, glancing at Ezio from the corner of my eye as I materialized another arrow and aimed it at the frightened man. "Go right ahead. You'd be doing me and many others a favor," Ezio said with a smirk. I flipped my attention back to Vieri. He immediately shuttered and turned his horse around. Before he got out of range, I let the arrow soar. It impales him in the back of his head as the metal tip protrudes from his forehead.

"One less bastardo to worry about," Ezio said. To my surprise, he doesn't ask how I was able to get a bow out of thin air. Prompto and I shrug it off while getting back on the horse. As we reach Monteriggioni, Prompto and I decide to open up more to Ezio. He accepted our story no matter how crazy it sounded. The Italian assassin shows us to a huge villa that overlooked the rest of the town.

An older man greets us at the entrance with a deep chuckle and opens his arms up to Ezio. "That's Ezio's uncle, Mario," Prompto informs. "You have no idea how happy I am right now knowing you're with me. With your knowledge on this whole place, I know we'll be able to get home." I grab Prompto's hand in mine and give it a gentle squeeze.

"Oh, and who have we here?" Mario asked, breaking our attention from one another. Ezio stood next to Prompto and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Uncle, this is Prompto and (Y/n). I brought them here to keep them safe against the Pazzi."

"Strange names and clothes. No matter! Welcome to Villa Auditore! I welcome you with open arms, amici (friends)," Mario joyfully replies. The two of us thank Ezio and his uncle while they gave us a tour of the villa.

Once the tour was complete, I headed to the library and spotted a young woman sitting at the desk. She glanced up at me but did not say a word. All she did was roll her eyes and looked back down. Seeing I was not welcomed, I left to search for Prompto.

I found my sweet dork chatting with Ezio in the courtyard. The two were deep in conversation so I decided to wait. Eavesdropping a little, I pick up on only one thing that piqued my interest.

"You both seem perfect for each other. Why are you doubting yourself?" Ezio questioned. Prompto glanced away with sad eyes as he fiddled with his fingers. "I just think think she could do so much better than me. I mean, she's beautiful, smart, and funny! I feel like I don't deserve her." Hearing his sad tone made tears form in the corner of my eyes. Without thinking, I walk towards Prompto and wrap my arms around his torso.

"It seems the signora (lady) has spoken with actions. I do not wish to intervene on this storia d'amore (love story). Come and join us for dinner once you are both ready."

As Ezio left, I tightened my hold on Prompto. My head rested against his back and I could feel his body heating up under my touch. "Why are you doubting our relationship all of a sudden?" I ask. He tensed up at my words and stumbled over his explanation. "Well... um, ever since we got stuck here, I've been worried that we wouldn't be able to return home. I-I thought it would've been better if one of the others were with you, not me. They probably would've found a way out by now."

Letting him go, I spin him around to face me and cup his cheeks. "Prom, it's only been a day. Also, I wouldn't want anybody else by my side. I love you and don't doubt yourself. No one could replace you."

Tears of joy slipped from his eyes as we rested our foreheads together. In an instant, Prompto bent down to my height and stole my lips. The sudden kiss was tantalizing and passionate, making my mind go blank. We had to cut our romantic moment short when we remember we were supposed to join the Auditores for dinner. Laughing, we enter the villa and join the others.

-A Week Later-

Walking through the small market of Monteriggioni was refreshing and intriguing. Ezio had sent me out to get more medicine for him and Mario. Prompto wanted to come, but Mario dragged him away before I could answer his pleas. Successfully buying the medicine from the doctor, I made my way back to the villa. However, my leisurely stroll was interrupted by the sound of yelling and hooves against gravel. On instinct, I hid in a small alleyway and watched as a group of men on horses pass by-their destination seeming to be the villa.

My thoughts were brimming with worry for Prompto and the members of the Auditore's. Running with all I had, reaching the villa didn't take long. The horses from the group of men were resting in the courtyard with no signs of their riders. I was about to dash into the villa until I was grabbed and pulled into a nearby hay bale. Recognizing the robes, I sigh in relief to see Ezio is alright.

"Who were those men?" I ask with a whisper.

"Francesco de' Pazzi and his followers. The bastardo seemed to have help getting into town. His men captured everyone and is holding them in different rooms."

"Did he state his demands?"

Ezio nods with a slight sigh. "One of Vieri's men were in hiding when they attacked and saw your strange powers. He is searching all of Monteriggioni for you."

"So, he believes me to hold powers that could help him... great," I groan. Ezio pats me on the shoulder and gives me his famous alluring smile. "Do not worry, bella. If you're willing to take down another Pazzi, I could use your sharp eyes and magnificent skills with the bow to assist me."

"I'll do anything to keep Prompto and your family safe," I declare. My words made his smile widen. "I am glad to hear that. Now, let us discuss a plan."

Listening closely, Ezio left me in charge of targeting Francesco. He would handle all the other men and free everyone. We split up and I sneak into the villa with ease. With my bow in hand, I was able to find Francesco in the study with Mario and Prompto. The Pazzi began yelling at the two with rage. "Where is the girl?!"

"We will not tell you," Mario strongly proclaims. From my hiding spot, I could see Prompto glaring daggers at the man. Francesco yanked a blade that was lodged in the desk and aimed it at Prompto. My composure snapped and I materialized an arrow. I emerge from my hiding spot and aim the arrow at the man. "I'm right here, Francesco," I growl. My voice got everyone's attention and made the Pazzi face me with a smirk.

"Ah, the strega (witch) makes her appearance," he chuckles, raising the dagger slightly.

"If I go with you, will you leave everyone else out of this?"

Prompto jolted up with his hands still bound behind his back. "(Y/n), no! You can't!" Giving a reassuring gaze, I smile at him. "Prom, it's alright." His eyes widened once he was able to pick up on the true meaning. Mario stayed silent and picked up on it as well. Francesco tossed the dagger aside and took small steps towards me. "Ragazza brillante (smart girl). You know when to give in, unlike those assassins."

"At least I'm not as gullible as you." With that, I release the arrow and it hits it mark perfectly. Francesco's body fell to the ground with a thump and I suddenly felt dizzy. Darkness consumed my surroundings and my consciousness.

When I was able to open my eyes, I was back in Prompto's apartment. Jolting up, I frantically look around for the blonde. Searching the living room, I was grabbed and yanked onto the couch. A small yelp escaped me as I fell into a warm embrace. "I'm so happy you're okay," Prompto whispers, burying his face in the crook of my neck.

Smiling, I thread my fingers through his soft locks. "I should be the one saying that. It was you and Ezio's family that were taken hostage."

Prompto's arms tightened around me. "I'll always worry about you even when you're safe, (Y/n)."

"I feel the same way, Prom. At least we're back home and neither of us are injured. Our key home must've been to kill Francesco. I hope Ezio and the others are alright."

"Even though it's a game, it's hard not to worry about them," Prompto adds. Nodding in agreement, I kiss him on the cheek. A smirk formed on his face while stealing a kiss from my lips. "Noct's gonna lose it when he hears about this."

"If he believes a word you say."

"As long as you're on my side, I'm positive we can convince him."

"We'll see about that."
