~(Y/n)'s POV~

With the eternal nights came the wails of hundreds of daemons. Very few safe havens were left in Lucis, one being Hammerhead where Prompto and I were currently staying. While he went into the diner to search for another hunt, I sat on a box of supplies and stared into the perpetual darkness that surrounded us.

Suddenly, a high pitch cry resounded around us, making me cover my ears in fright. I could feel tears stinging the corners of my eyes as the cry increased in volume. Closing my eyes, I wait for the haunting noise to pass. Unexpectedly, I felt two warm hands cup my cheeks. Slowly opening my eyes, I saw Prompto in front of me with a warm smile. "P-Prompto..." I call his name weakly. He leans forward and kisses me on the forehead.

"Don't worry. They won't hurt you, (Y/n), I promise." His calming and sweet words made me remove my hands from my ears. He leaned his forehead against mine and pecked me on the nose. My tears dried up and I smiled at him. "I'm glad you're here with me, Prom."

"There's no way I would leave your side. I love you too much to let anyone else take care of you."

Prompto moved his hands from my cheeks to my waist. Pulling me flush to his body, I wrap my arms around him, clinging to him like a child. Prompto rested his chin on the top of my head and stroked my (h/c) hair soothingly. Pulling me to my feet, Prompto kept his arms around me as he swayed side-to-side. The small movement made me smile and giggle.

"There's the smile I fell in love with," he said with his own charming smile. I rested my head on his chest, listening to his calm heartbeat. We fell into a peaceful silence, still swaying our bodies in unison.

"Did you receive another hunt?" I ask, slicing through the silence. Prompto nods, kissing me on the lips. "Yeah, there's an Iron Giant near Lestallum. The hunters are afraid it'll get too close to the city."

"Alright, let's go kick some daemon ass!" I chant, earning a chuckle from my lover. We walk over to my bike and I hand Prompto his helmet.

I got on first and Prompto took a seat behind me. "You know the drill," I smirk. He immediately wraps his arms around my waist and I rev the engine. The hunters opened the gate, allowing us to leave the safety of Hammerhead. Once we were on the road, Prompto's arms tightened around me. Every time we rode my bike, he'd always freak out and hang on for dear life, each time being funnier than the last.

Countless of daemons wailed as we passed them on the road. Luckily, Cindy equipped my bike with a special headlight that kept the daemons away from us. Getting to the outskirts of Lestallum were a breeze thanks to her gift.

Once I came to a stop, Prompto refused to let go of me. I tried to pry his arms off of me, but he wouldn't budge an inch. "Prom, we've got a daemon to slay. We can cuddle once we're done." Removing one hand from my waist, he took the helmet off and looked at me with a grin. "Really?" Taking mine off next, I nod and turn my head to kiss him on the cheek. "Really." He let out a small cry of happiness and unlatched his other arm from my waist.

Hiding the bike, we walk the rest of the way. Luckily, we only ran into a few daemons before finding the Iron Giant. "The daemon is too close for comfort. If it continues any further, all of Lestallum will be in danger, even with the lights," I whisper. Prompto summoned his pistol and I called upon my dual blades.

"Let's grab its attention with a little magic," Prompto mumbles. He pulls out a small flask and throws it, hitting the Iron Giant on the back. The daemon cried out as a small flame began to consume its body. Changing its path, it turns around and spots us. Prompto fired a couple of rounds to grab its attention and leave an opening for me to get close enough to attack.

As my attacks increased, the Iron Giant flipped its attention from Prompto to me. The daemon swung its sword around and knocked a few trees down. Dodging each blow, I nimbly maneuver through its legs to get behind it. When I tried to attack the back, the daemon suddenly stomped one of its heavy feet. I lost my balance and was pushed back. Before I could recover, the Iron Giant swiped its arm towards me and grabbed me in its hand.

"(Y/n)!" Prompto shouts. He ran over and shot the daemon multiple times until its grip on me loosened and my body began to fall. I closed my eyes, waiting for my body to hit the hard ground. However, no pain came as I felt two arms catch me easily. I open my eyes to see my face was only inches away from Prompto's.

"Nice catch," I smile. Prompto beams back and gently sets me back on my feet. "I know," he boasted. I playfully hit him on the arm and look back at the daemon. "Let's get rid of this thing and then you can brag."

"Can I get a kiss after this?" He asked out of the blue.

"Alright, you can get a kiss, but we've got to kill this damn thing first."

Prompto grins widely and continues to fire round after round. I wait for the Iron Giant to swing its sword before I attacked. When it finally brought its sword down, I jumped on it and ran up the side. Reaching its head, I swiftly deliver blow after blow. With a few more strikes from my blades, the Iron Giant lets out a small creaking noise and vanishes.

"Well, that's another mission complete," I remarked, landing next to Prompto.

"Yeah, and I get my amazing reward," he smirks. Suddenly, he grabbed me and spun my body to face him. I couldn't get a word out before his soft lips connected with mine. Not shocked at all, I kiss him back passionately. Prompto moved his hands to my cheeks and stroked them with his fingers. Even though I knew this wasn't the place for such an intimate moment, I couldn't bring myself to break the kiss. My whole body felt as if it was melting under his gentle touch, hoping it would never end.

Sadly, the kiss ceased when a daemon cried out nearby. We both stare into each other's eyes with guilty expressions. "Let's save the rest for when we're safe," he said.

"Definitely."
