~(Y/n)'s POV~

We had arrived at Coernix Station to fill up the Regalia. While Noctis fills up the tank, Ignis and Gladio went shopping. I sat on Prompto's shoulder in my pup form, watching him take pictures left and right.

I snuggled closer to him when a cool breeze blew through my fur. My actions earned a small laugh from the blonde. He smiled and used his free hand to rub the top of my head. I leaned into his touch and he moved his fingers to the back of my ears.

"Aw, you're too cute, (Y/n)!" He buoyantly said, his smile widening. I close my eyes in ecstasy from where he was scratching. Our happy moment was interrupted by a gasp. Opening my eyes, I see a woman staring at me as if I was a creature of unknown origin. "I've never seen a wolf pup before!" She shouts, reaching out to grab me. Prompto immediately turns away from the woman so she couldn't reach me.

"It seems you've met Sania," Gladio said, walking out of the store with Ignis beside him. I looked back at the woman and glanced over her strange attire. Now that I think about it, she looks like she's dressed as a researcher. "She's a professor," Gladio adds. Prompto removed me from his shoulder and hugged me in his arms. "Well, can ya tell her (Y/n) isn't an object to study?" Prompto asked in a protective tone.

"I'm intrigued by your relationship with this young pup. She doesn't try to bite or scratch you in any way, shape, or form!" Sania said excitedly. "Actually, she's--" Prompto was silenced by Ignis. "He has been her main caretaker," the advisor said. The blonde sent a questioning gaze towards him.

"Well, since she's bonded to you, I won't tear you two apart. But, could you do me a favor?"

"What is it?" Gladio asked.

"I need you to collect five frogs for me. They're necessary for my research to continue forward. I'll even mark the location on your map," she said. Accepting the request, Ignis hands over the map and she circles the lake that was in Alstor Slough. The four of us head to the car where Noctis was waiting. Ignis told him of Sania's request and we headed to our destination. Prompto sat me in his lap and messed with my fluffy tail.

"Hey, Iggy, why didn't you let me tell Sania about (Y/n)?" He asked.

"If she learned (Y/n) was truly human, her persistence would've grown," he replies cooly.

"That would've been bad," Noctis chimes in.

"Oh, gotcha," Prompto said, stroking one of my ears. He smiled down at me and suddenly picked me up. He kissed me on the forehead a few times and sat me back down in his lap.

"Wouldn't want her turning into a test subject," Gladio said.

"I'd never let that happen," Prompto declares sternly. Hearing him say that brought a smile to my face.

After a few minutes passed, Ignis informed us of our trek to the Slough. He parked the Regalia on the side of the road and everyone hopped out. I sat upon Prompto's head as he and the others walked down a path. More minutes fly by and our destination was in front of us.

"So, we're looking for frogs?" Noctis asked, still not being able to believe the ridiculous request. "Yes, five of them to be exact," Ignis responds. "Well, since (Y/n)'s here, it shouldn't be difficult. She could sniff them out for us," Prompto said. I jump off his head and began sniffing the air. When I got a whiff of what smelt like a frog, I took off.

"Must've found one already," Gladio said. The four followed me until my nose led me to a red frog. My puppy nature setting in, I began chasing the frog around the Slough. "(Y/n), stop chasing the frog," Prompto said with a laugh. Once I had cornered it, I transformed into my human self and picked up the frog.

"Got it!" I announce, holding the slimy creature in my hands. "Nice, only four more to go," Noctis comments. I held on to the frog and guided them to the other four. We each had a frog in our hands by the time we were done. "Ugh, this is gross," Prompto whines. I giggle and bump him with my hip. "Get used to it. I seriously doubt this is the only favor Sania has for us."

Prompto sighs, holding the frog further away from him. I roll my eyes at his childish behavior with a scoff. Reaching the car, I sat in the back with Noctis and Gladio. When my eyes caught Prompto, I saw he seemed a little downhearted. "Prom, are you okay?" I ask worriedly. He snaps his head in my direction and I noticed his pink cheeks. "O-oh, y-yeah! Totally!"

"You're just mopey because (Y/n) decided to sit in the back and not with you," Noctis states with a smug look. Tilting my head, I kept my gaze on Prompto. A smile crept onto my face and I leaned forward, careful not to squish the frog in my lap. "Just know I love you and only you, Prom." I kiss him on the cheek and watch as they turn a darker red.

We arrived back at Coernix Station ten minutes later. "I'll... let you guys handle Sania," I said, handing the frog I was carrying over to Gladio. "Yeah, we wouldn't want her to see you. She'd probably have tons of questions where you came from since she didn't see you with us earlier," Noctis said. We get out of the car and I decide to head into the shop. It was a small convenience store but carried tons of items. Remembering the daemons we encountered in the last cave, I decided to buy a few elixirs and antidotes.

With my hands full, I deliver the items to the Regalia. Once they were safely put away, I closed the trunk and waited for the others. As I was waiting patiently, two arms wrapped around my waist and pulled me against a warm body. I gasped from the sudden touch and jumped a little. Smelling a familiar scent, I turn to see Prompto. "Don't do that! You gave me a heart attack!" I scold him and smack his arm lightly.

"Sorry, couldn't help it. I like hugging you," he said, pulling me closer.

"You sure you don't hug me too much?"

"I don't hug you enough."

I snort form laughing and hug him, resting my head on his chest. He sighed in content and snuggled closer. His breath hit my neck, tickling my skin. "H-hey, that tickles," I meekly said. Prompto smiles and kisses the sensitive spot on my neck. I flinched at the feeling and blushed in embarrassment. Prompto noticed and laughed at me. A smug look crosses my face, stopping him from laughing. I grabbed him by the collar and pulled him down, our lips crashing onto each other's.

When our lips made contact, Prompto's eyes widened from the sudden kiss. Once he had relaxed, I let go of his collar and let him take over. Keeping it at a minimum, we broke apart and smiled at each other. Our cheeks matched and we didn't bother hiding them.

"That. Was. Amazing," he said with a lustful sigh.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it," I cheekily reply. Both of us fell into a peaceful silence. Prompto still held me close and I rested my head on his chest. He moved one of his hands, beginning to twirl a (h/c) lock around his finger.

"I love you, (Y/n)," he whispers sweetly. I smile in sheer bliss at his words.

"I love you too, Prom."
