~(Y/n)'s POV~

"(Y/n), did ya make sure to feed the chicks?" My dad, Wiz, asked. I sent him a 'what-do-you-think' look. He chuckles and smiles at me. "I'm just messin' with ya." I huff in laughter and place the bag of feed down.

"Papa, I think we have visitors," I said, pointing to a luxurious car that just pulled up. He snaps around and runs to greet the four men who exited the car. I shook my head with a smile and went to the chicks to give them a small treat. They chirped happily as I handed them small pieces of vegetables. Even though they've already had their feed, I'd always sneak vegetables to them when my dad wasn't looking.

"Hey, Mimi, stop eating Popo's," I scold one of the chicks. Mimi chirps at me with a small hint of anger. She trotted over and began messing with my shoes. I laughed as she expressed her anger by pecking at my protected feet. Once she got tired, Mimi flopped on her belly next to Bana. I smile and pet them all on the head.

As I began to leave, I felt the babies following me close behind. "I swear, the three of you like to follow me everyday. Why don'tcha go play with the visitors?" The three of them chirped in disdain, earning a sigh from me. "Alright, you can stay with me. But, stay out of trouble when I'm not paying attention."

They jumped in unison and chirped happily. Bana then ran in a circle around me while peeping cutely. She was soon joined by her brother and sister, doing laps around me. I giggle and decided to sit down in the middle. The three of them tackled me and rubbed their soft feathers against me.

The sound of a camera caught our attention. When I looked to our right, I saw a boy with blonde hair. He was one of the guys who left the expensive-looking car earlier. He tensed when he realized he had been caught red-handed. "I-I... um, s-sorry!" He quickly apologized. I quickly got to my feet, making sure not to hurt one of the chicks.

"Don't apologize. Did ya get a good shot?" I ask, placing my hands behind my back with a smile. He vigorously nods with red cheeks. Being the curious person I am, I went over and peered over his shoulder to see the picture. When he turned his camera for me to see it, I gasped. "Wow, that's amazing! Are you a professional?"

"N-not yet," he stutters. Noticing his cheeks were darkening, I immediately took a step back so he could get some air. "Sorry, I just really admire photographers. They get to see so much of Eos that I'll never get to see," I admit. I felt a little heartbroken at my own words. The chicks sensed it and ran to my side to comfort me. Their happy peeping made the smile come back to my face.

"M-maybe I could s-share some pictures with you," he said as he watched the babies at my feet. My eyes lit up and my smile grew even wider. "I'd love to! By the way, I haven't gotten your name. Mine's (Y/n)."

"Prompto," he responds with a beaming smile. He then directed his attention to the chicks and asked for their names. "Oh, this is Mimi, Bana, and Popo. They lost their mother to a bandersnatch and I've kinda taken up that role."

"So, you're their mom?"

"Yep."

Prompto snapped a few pictures of the energetic chicks. Popo got curious and pecked at Prompto. "Whoa!" He shouts, dodging the baby. I laugh as Mimi joins her brother and messes with his clothes. Bana just stood next to me, like a good girl. "Alright, you two. Leave Prompto alone," I said, putting my hands on my hips. Mimi and Popo listened and returned to my side.

"Wow, you really are their mom," Prompto said in amazement. I laugh at his words. While we continued talking, his companions came over. "They're so cute," the one with raven hair said with a smile, looking at the chicks. The three babies walked over to the three to check them out. While they were distracted by them, Prompto told me their names.

"Yo, Prom, we've got a hunt to go on," Noctis said.

"Oh, which hunt?" I ask.

"Your father graciously lended some gil for curatives for our hunt. We shall be tracking Deadeye," Ignis replies.

"Wait, how did you know Wiz was my dad?" I puzzle.

"We had to get him back on track when he began taking non-stop about you," Gladio responded. I pinch the bridge of my nose with a sigh. "Of course..."

"Happens a lot?" Noctis smirked. I nodded and pushed a strand of hair behind my ear. "Once the beast is exterminated, your Chocobos will be able to travel again, (Y/n)," Ignis states.

"That's the best news I've heard in years. Just... be careful around Deadeye. He may not be able to see on his right side, but he's a tough one. Around ten hunters have already been killed taking up the hunt."

"We're always careful!" Prompto cheers happily.

"Except for you," Gladio smirks at him.

"Yeah, you're the klutz, Prom," Noctis adds.

"H-hey!" The blonde shouts in return. I giggle, earning everyone's attention. I smile at them and nod. "I know you all will kill that monster. Once you get back, I'll let the Chocobos out. They've been kinda rowdy ever since we had to keep them in their pins. I'll even let all of you choose one to ride on the house."

Prompto jumped with joy while the others thanked me. "Oh, and if I find out one of you guys got hurt, I'll take care of the wounds."

"You have specialized in aid?" Ignis asked.

"Of course! It's not only the birds I watch out for and take care of. Plenty of people get hurt around these parts because of Voretooths and sometimes rogue Garulas. I'm no nurse, but I do know plenty to offer aid."

"Well, that's a relief. Now you don't have to worry about treating our injuries, Specs." Noctis looked over his shoulder at Ignis. He ignored Noctis and adjusted his glasses.

"Let's go kick some Behemoth ass," Gladio declares. I watch as the group get into the car. Before they took off, I waved at them. They all smiled and waved back as the car vanished from sight. When they were gone, I turned to the babies. "Alright, you three. Time for your naps!" They chirp cheerfully and ran to their usual napping place under a shaded tree. I watch them all plop down and huddle together.

"You three are a handful, but I love that 'bout ya."

-Next Day-

Not getting any sleep last night from a certain trio of Chocobos, I slumped in my seat while the three of them messed with one another. Resting my head in my hands, I closed my eyes in hopes of getting a few minutes of shut-eye. I felt a hand on my shoulder and opened my eyes to see my dad.
"(Y/n), yer off today. I know you couldn't sleep well last night."

"Thank you, Papa," I said, smiling up at him. He bends down and kisses me gently on the cheek. "Don't push yerself, sweetheart." I nod as he pats me on the back. "Ya sure you should be the one sayin' that? You're the one who overworks. Maybe you should take the week off and let the others handle everything?"

Papa chuckles and ruffles my (h/c) hair. "Temptin' offer. Might have to take it up."

"Don't get sick," I said, watching as he walked away. Papa gave me a reassuring smile before he went inside the pins. Now that the trio of babies were knocked out from exhausting all their energy on each other, I place my arms on the table and lay my head on them. Sleep welcomed me with open arms as I felt the warm sun lull me to sleep.

"(Y/n)?"

When I heard my name being called, I peered out of my sleepiness to see who it was. Recognizing the familiar blonde hair and blue eyes, I pushed my head off my arms and stretched. Getting a better look, I realized all four of them were back.

I flew to my feet and made sure each one of them were unhurt. Spotting no injuries, I sigh in relief. "Glad to see you guys back, safe and sound. Since Papa is busy, I'll hand over the reward and keep my promise." I stormed to where the gil for the hunt was being kept and grabbed it.

"As promised, I'll let the four of you choose your own Chocobos. If you'd like to rent 'em, you can have them for the whole week without payment."

"A kind offer, but--" Ignis began, but I quickly interjected. "Nope, no "but's"! It's my reward while the gil is from Papa. Follow me, I'll show you to the best Chocobos we have!" I cheer. Prompto was the first to join, followed by his friends. The troublemaker trio woke up and also towed behind me to the pins.

"Here we are! The best Chocobos in all of Eos!" I smile, gesturing to the Chocobos in the pin. Placing two fingers in my mouth, I whistled and all the birds lined up. "Impressive," Ignis compliments. Noctis, Gladio, and Ignis all eyed the birds. "Feel free to feed 'em. You can even take them around the pin for a quick lap."

The three nodded and were absorbed by the Chocobos. With them distracted, I grabbed Prompto by the hand. "I have the perfect Chocobo for you," I whisper to him. His cheeks turn red as I pull him to the back of the outpost.

"Woah!" Prompto shouts as he spots the black Chocobo. I let his hand go so he could run over to the bird. With a smile, I watched as he and the Chocobo got along very well. Prompto hugged the black Chocobo and fed her some greens.

"Knew she was perfect for you," I state, standing behind him. Prompto tears his eyes away from the bird and looks at me with a huge smile. His blue eyes exploded with excitement and joy as I gazed into them. "This is amazing, (Y/n)! Thank you!" Without warning, he threw his arms around me in a tight hug. My face was buried in his chest while he thanked me profusely. Pulling apart, Prompto smiled down at me sweetly.

"C-can I say s-something, (Y/n)?"

Titling my head in confusion, I signaled for him to continue. Prompto swallowed hard and stumbled over his words. "I-I really think you're--"

I suddenly heard a chirp from the black Chocobo. She nudged Prompto in the back, causing him to fall forward. Before I could react, a warm sensation on my lips made my train-of-thoughts derail. Realizing what happened, my body froze and my eyes widened. Prompto and I were kissing. We both shared the same expression, but neither of us pulled away. However, while I was still paralyzed, Prompto moved his hands and cupped my cheeks. He deepened the kiss with a small tilt of his head and pulled me closer to his body.

Finally able to move, I kissed his sweet lips in return. I closed my eyes in sheer bliss as our kiss continued. Prompto moved his hands from my cheeks and trailed them down my neck and shoulders. Once he reached my waist, both arms snaked around and pulled me flush against him. Once we broke apart, I saw the black Chocobo happily chirping.

"Hold on... did she really push you?" I ask.

Prompto meekly nods and scratches the back of his neck in embarrassment. Laughter spilled from me as I confirmed my suspicions. Prompto laughed along with me until I stopped.

"Hey, Prompto, what did you want to say earlier?" I question.

"O-oh, it's nothing!" He snappily denies. I cross my arms and began to pout. Prompto took a deep breath and grabbed me by the shoulders. "D-don't give me that cute face..."

"Then... tell me," I persist with a smile. Prompto realized I wasn't going to give up and finally told me. "I was going to say that I think you're really beautiful and sweet and..." He suddenly stopped, red returning to his cheeks once again. Urging him to go on, I finally was able to hear his true feelings.

"I love you."

Not missing a step, I hugged him while resting my head on his chest. "Love at first sight, huh?" Prompto nods, running a hand through my (h/c) locks. "Good, because I also feel the same," I state.

"So... does that mean..."

"Yes, yes it does."
