~(Y/n)'s POV~
I glanced between the four of them. They had just changed into the robes Holly provided. I told her to not worry about getting robes for me.
"Well... uh, this is..."
My mind was a jumble as I kept trying to wrap my head around their new appearance. While I was distracted, Cindy linked her arm with mine. "Sorry, y'all. I'm gonna steal (Y/n) for a bit." Confused by why she wanted to drag me away, she began guiding me through the bustling streets of Lestallum.
After a few minutes, Cindy and I found a place to sit. We began talking and I figured out why she wanted me to come along. Cindy was being considerate and thought I needed a nice conversation without the guys around.
"You have no idea how badly I've wanted to talk to another girl about my problems. The guys would never understand my issues."
Cindy laughs at my words. Our conversation carried on until I saw a playful grin find its way to her face. "You're in love!" She shouts happily.
"C-Cindy, not so loud!"
Heat rose to my cheeks as I tried to quiet the mechanic down. She scooted over and leaned in closer. "So, who is it?" I took a deep breath and whispered to her. "Gladio."
"I'll help in anyway I can, Darlin'!"
"Thank you, Cindy. But... I think I might go find him and admit my feelings. Maybe... maybe I just might have a chance."
"I'll be cheering for ya!"
I leave an exuberant Cindy behind to find Gladio. Dodging people left and right, I search for the bodyguard. With no luck in the backstreets, I head to the main road. More people began to block my path and made it even difficult to spot his towering form.
Half an hour passes when I finally am able to get to the main street. I carefully scanned all around until I spotted the brute. A smile crept into my face as I walked over.
"Glad--"
When a group of people dispersed, the sight before my eyes shattered my heart. Gladio had his arm around a girl I've never seen before. He messed with her hair and both of them were laughing with tears in their eyes. Countless of people ran into me as I stayed frozen in the middle of the street. Tears began to stream down my cheeks as I watched the girl kiss Gladio on the lips. I placed a hand over my mouth so no one would hear my cries. Tearing my eyes away from the heart wrenching scene, I turn on my heels and run.
~3rd Person POV~
-Midnight-
After a long night, Gladio headed to Leville with Prompto. Entering the lobby, they found Noctis and Ignis arranging accommodations for the night. When Prompto looked around, he saw one person missing.
"Hey, where's (Y/n)?"
This made everyone else look around. Gladio pulled out his phone to see if he had any calls or texts from the (e/c) eyed girl. He furrows his eyebrows as he sees nothing on his phone from her.
"Could she still be out with Cindy?" Noctis asked.
"If she were, we would have received word," Ignis replied.
"Yeah, she would've called one of us," Gladio said. He tapped on her name and called her, hoping she would pick up in a heartbeat. When it went straight to voicemail, he began to grow worried. "Dammit," he growls.
"It's dangerous out in the streets at night even with the festival going on. The Empire is roaming the streets and (Y/n) probably doesn't know. If they find her..." Noctis trails off.
"Y-you don't think they captured her, do you?" Prompto asked in a shaky voice. Gladio's eyes narrowed as he tightens his hold on his phone. The thought of them taking her raced through his mind and he couldn't erase it.
"She is a skilled fighter. I doubt the Empire could have laid a hand on her without a fight," Ignis said, trying to calm everyone down.
"We should go look for her," Prompto declares. The advisor shook his head. "Too dangerous. We shall wait 'til sunrise."
"To hell with waiting. I'm going out there now," Gladio proclaims. He stormed out of the hotel and into the dimly lit streets. Gladio began asking around while showing a picture of (Y/n) on his phone. Countless of people claimed to not have seen her at the festival. He gritted his teeth as he became more desperate.
He showed an older gentleman the picture of (Y/n) and his eyes lit up. "Yes, I've seen the young lady. Poor thing was crying as she ran towards the power plant."
Gladio's eyes widened when he absorbed what the man said. He thanks the gentleman and dashes to the power plant. On the way, he was joined by a concerned Prompto. "Anything?" The blonde asked. Gladio told Prompto what the man said.
The two finally reach the gates to the power plant. A dim street light was the only thing providing luminescence.
"(Y/n)!" Gladio shouts. When he was waiting for a response, he heard his phone go off. He pulled it out of his pocket and saw a text from (Y/n).
I don't wanna talk to you
Gladio looked around, but still couldn't find her. "So, that means she can hear us. Which also means she's okay!" Prompto cheers as he read over the message.
"Why don't you wanna talk?" He asked. His phone vibrated again at his question.
Leave
Gladio rolled his eyes at her childish behavior. "I'm not leaving you out here by yourself, (Y/n)."
Go spend the night with the girl you were clinging to and leave me alone
Confused at what she meant, he glanced towards Prompto. "What girl?"
"Y'know, the one you were kissing earlier," Prompto replies. Gladio was still taken aback. "I thought that was..."
"Wait, were you drunk?!" Prompto shouts in disbelief. Gladio knocks him on the head with his knuckles to silence him.
"Stop playing dumb."
Gladio and Prompto turned to see (Y/n) jump down from a rooftop with ease. She nimbly lands on her feet and steps into the light. They both gasped as they saw her swollen eyes from all the crying. Her cheeks were red because of the constant stream of tears that had run down them. Gladio reached out to touch her, but (Y/n) steps out of his way. Not being able to meet his gaze, she looks down at the ground.
"Um, (Y/n), what did you see?" Prompto asked. Her eyes glanced at Gladio for a mere second at his question. "I... I saw Gladio kissing a random girl at the festival."
"I didn't kiss a random girl, it was you!" Gladio defends.
"No, it wasn't! I was with Cindy, you idiot!"
Prompto jumped in the middle to stop them before they both said something they would regret. "I think I know what happened," he states. (Y/n) crossed her arms and began tapping her foot, waiting to hear what the blonde had to say.
"Gladio got drunk during the festival. When he did, he found a girl nearby and thought it was (Y/n). So, in the end, Gladio wanted to kiss you!" Prompto said, pointing to the puzzled girl in front of him. She uncrossed her arms and sent a gentle gaze to Gladio.
"You... thought you were kissing me? Why?"
Gladio sighed and rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment. "Prom, could you give us a moment?" He nods with a bubbly smile and gives them their space.
"So... you thought you were kissing me?" (Y/n) asked once the blonde vanished. She leaned against the wall next to her, waiting for his response.
"Yeah..."
She bit her lip to contain her laughter. "You know, if you wanted a kiss, you could've just asked. After all, I was going to admit my feelings to you until I saw you sucking off another girl's face."
When Gladio heard this, his expression changed dramatically. A grin etched onto his face as he approached her. "Gladio?" She called his name as he closed in. When (Y/n) tried to escape, she forgot her back was against the wall. She swallowed hard as Gladio placed his hands on either side of her head, blocking off her escape. Still grinning, he leaned down to her height and their faces were only inches apart.
"H-hey, haven't you heard of personal space?" She stutters with tense shoulders. Gladio chuckles and leans in until their noses were touching. He moved his hands to her cheeks while staring into her (e/c) eyes. "You're gonna have to make some space for me, shortcake."
"Hold on a sec--"
Not wanting to listen, Gladio sealed (Y/n)'s lips with a passionate kiss. Once she had relaxed, he pulled her closer and deepened the kiss. Her body started to heat up under his touch. Both fell in the hands of ecstasy as the kiss carried on.
Having to let go, Gladio released a panting (Y/n). The girl took in deep breaths as she tried to fill her lungs. He smirked once he saw her cheeks were completely red.
(Y/n) turned around to hide her burning cheeks from Gladio. She didn't say a word as her back faced him. His smirk turned into a smile as he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her to him. Gladio was about to speak up but was interrupted by a certain blonde.
"So, did ya make up?"
"Prompto!"
