~(Y/n)'s POV~

"... /n)... (Y/n)... (Y/n)!"

I bolt up, gasping for air. My vision was blurry as I looked around. Two hands held my shoulders as I tried to make out who was supporting my body. When my vision finally cleared, I saw who it was.

"Zack."

He sighs in relief after I call his name. A smile finds its way to his face once he helps me to my feet. "W-where are we?" I ask in a shaky voice.

"Not sure. All I remember was being in Midgar. And now, we're here."

"Oh, crap! What do we do?! I was supposed to meet Cloud in an hour!" I pace back and fort, running my hands through my messy (h/c) hair. Zack falls into deep though while I panic. Zack suddenly snaps his fingers, drawing my attention. "Let's look around. There's gotta be someone who can help us." He gives me one of his famous smiles to reassure me.

I couldn't help but smile back. "Yeah, you're right." We walk until a road catches our attention. "It's gotta lead to somewhere," I said, keeping up the positive attitude. Zack nods and began to fan himself. I giggle and form an ice sphere in my hand. "Here, this'll help you cool down." He gladly accepts the sphere and thanks me.

We walked for what felt like hours until a small outpost came into view. "'Hammerhead"? Strange name for an outpost," I comment. "I'll say," Zack agreed. When the smell of food wafted through the air, my stomach grumbled. Zack began to laugh, making me blush in embarrassment. I smack him playfully on the arm for laughing so hard.

"Let's get a bite to eat," he said and dragged me to the small diner. We sat in the stools and a man greets us with a warm smile. He takes our order and rushes to the kitchen. I leaned my head against the counter, sleepiness starting to take over. Zack smiles and rubs my back gently. "We'll get home, I promise."

"I know. We've been best friends for years and I've never doubted you, Zack."

"Aw, thanks, (Y/n)."

Our meal came out and we both scarfed the food down in minutes. The food was delicious and now I was even more tired. Luckily, this place also accepted gil. "Thank the gods for that," I sigh. Zack chuckles as we leave. We headed over to the garage and spotted an old man. He walked over and checked Zack and I out. "Y'all aren't from here."

Zack and I gasp at the old man's words. "H-how did you know?!" I shout in shock. The old man grins at us. "The air aroun' y'all. Too pristine to be from Leide or Duscae."

"Anyways, where are we?" Zack asked, changing the subject. "You're in the Leide region. West of here is the Duscae region. If you're looking for help to return home, I can't help ya there."

"Well, can we at least get a name?" I step up to ask. He nods and points to himself. "Just call me Cid. That lady over there is my granddaughter, Cindy."

Zack remained with Cid while I went to chat with Cindy. "Howdy, Darlin'. Having car troubles? I'm your gal!" She greets cheerfully. I shook my head. "No car trouble. I was um... going to ask if you had a map of this area. My friend and I are new to... the area."

Cindy nods and hands me a map. As I took the map, the sound of a shutter caught my attention. When I turned around, a boy with blonde hair was aiming a camera at me. "S-sorry, I-I just... um..." His whole body fidgets as he tries to come up with an excuse. Another boy around his age with raven hair came up and explained for him.

"Excuse him. His trigger finger's been itching to take some good pictures."

I smile and giggle at the two. "Don't worry about it. I'm not mad," I said, directing the last part to the blonde. Both boys began to blush as I smiled at them. My eyes traveled to Zack and saw he was talking to two men. One was very buff and the other wore glasses. "By the way..." the blonde boy suddenly spoke up, switching my attention.

"I'm Prompto. Nice to meet ya!"

Then the raven haired one introduced himself.

"Noctis, but just call me Noct."

I entwine my fingers and smile at the two. "A pleasure, Prompto, Noct. My name's (Y/n)." Both of them smiled at me brightly. Our conversation was cut short when Zack came over with the other two. "Don tell me you're hittin' on a girl already?" The big one came over, locking Prompto and Noctis into a headlock. The one with glasses stepped up and bowed to me. "Apologies, miss. I hope these two did not cause trouble."

I shook my head. "Not at all. They were very sweet to me." The man was relieved to hear those words. Zack placed a hand on my shoulder. "They're going to help us, (Y/n)."

"R-really?" I ask, completely in shock. "Hell yeah. Zack told us everything," the big one said. My eyes dart to Zack's mako ones. He grins and pats me on the head. "I know what you're about to ask. And yes, I told them everything."

The two men introduced themselves as Gladio and Ignis. I also introduced myself in case Zack didn't mention my name. Gladio let go of Prompto and Noctis so they could greet Zack. Once all of us were acquainted with each other, they guided us to a black car.

"Wait, there are six of us but only five seats," I said. Zack runs over to Cindy and hands over a decent amount of gil. The mechanic disappears, but then reappears with a motorcycle. Zack hops on the motorcycle and drives over to us. "So cool~!" Prompto cheers. "Hold on... when did you learn how to drive a motorcycle?" I cross my arms over my chest.

"Don't give me that look, (Y/n). Cloud taught me."

"Of course, Cloud taught you..."

Ignis speaks up and asked if we had a map. I pulled the one Cindy gave me out of my bag and handed it to him. He marked a point on the map and gave it back. Zack looked over the location to memorize it. "Alright, we'll see ya there!" Zack chants.

"Hey, be careful," Noctis said, concern laced through his voice. I nod and Zack revs the engine. I hop on the back and wrap my arms around Zack's waist. "Hold on!" He shouts as he speeds off. Zack's driving was hectic. The scariest part was when he almost hit the guardrail. "You're gonna kill us!" I yell over the engine. "Nah, I won't!" I held on for dear life as he sped up. I closed my eyes, praying we were at our destination. Minutes felt like hours as Zack drove down the road.

"We're here," he said. I unlatch my arms from his waist and get off the evil bike. My legs were shaking as I leaned up against a steady, nonmoving bench. "Never... ever... am I riding with you again..." Zack chuckles and messes with my (h/c) hair. The others pulled up and got out of the car.

"Is (Y/n) okay?" Prompto asked worriedly. Noctis came over and helped me stand. "Y-yeah, but for now... can I ride with you all? Zack's a speed demon..." Gladio chuckles and nods. I thank him and Noctis supports my body until we reach a camping sight. "Oh, I've always wanted to go camping!" I cheer.

"My type of girl," Gladio said.

"You've never been camping?" Noctis questioned. I shook my head. "It's too dangerous outside of Midgar to camp."

Noctis and I began talking non-stop. Even while setting up camp, our mouths kept moving. Deep into the conversation, Noctis asked me about my family. "I... don't have one. The only people in my life are Tifa, Zack, and Cloud. We're all close friends and I would never trade them for anyone else." Noctis was listening to every word closely and intently. It was nice to meet someone besides Zack who would listen to my problems.

The sun had finally set beyond the horizon. Ignis made a delicious dinner that topped lunch at Takka's. Zack was chatting with Gladio while I continued talking with Noctis. Prompto joined in, making me laugh every now and then. He showed me countless of pictures on his camera. After that, we all called it a night.

-Two Months Later-

Time flew by as I enjoyed my time with everyone. Ignis had taught me to make a few dishes while Gladio taught me some defensive tactics. Prompto let me take pictures everywhere we went and Noctis always took me fishing when we crossed a pond. Zack would help the guys on hunts while I stayed on the side and provided aide with my spells.

Even though we weren't in Midgar, I did feel at home. Zack was also enjoying his time more than I thought he would. Him and Gladio would always spar after a long day to strengthen up for the battle.

I was currently walking next to Noctis. We were heading to a fishing spot not far from camp. We laughed as the beautiful pond came into view. "Wanna make a bet?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Alright, what's the prize?"

"Whatever the winner chooses."

"Alright, Noct. You're on," I smirk at him. A smug look crosses over his face as we shake hands. "In order for you to win the bet, I have to catch a fish that's less that fourteen inches. Any bigger, and I win," Noctis said as he casted the line. He was able to hook a fish only minutes into casting his line.

As he reeled the fish in, a groan escapes his throat. I bit down on my bottom lip, trying not to laugh. The fish was only the size of an egg. My shoulders began to shake as I held my laughter at bay. "Dammit... you win, (Y/n)," he announces dejectedly. I smile victoriously at him while patting his back. "Nice try, Noct."

He sighs and quits fishing. "So, what do I have to do?" He asked, interested in my response. I tap my foot against the dock, deep in thought. When an idea finally came, I leaned in closely. Noctis began to blush at our closeness.

"You have to close your eyes."

"Uh, what?"

"Close your eyes," I repeat. Noctis finally shuts his eyes and I closed the distance between us. With a small step, I planted a kiss on his lips. When I did, his eyes flew open. With a triumphant grin, I stepped back. Noctis just stared at me with wide eyes. "Now, let's head ba--"

Noctis wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me flush against him. He slammed his lips onto mine without hesitation. With a small tilt of his head, Noctis deepend the kiss. The intensity of the kiss made my knees shake. If Noctis didn't have his arms around my waist, I would've fallen to the ground.

"Dude, totally called it~!"

Noctis and I break apart as we hear Prompto's voice.

"No way! I called it first!"

I groan in annoyance as I hear Zack's voice. With a wave of my hand, I send a small fireball between the two. They jump out of their hiding spot with wide eyes. My glare cuts through them like a knife. "S-sorry, (Y/n)," Zack apologizes. "Y-yeah! Sorry, Noct!" Prompto whimpers. They both storm back to camp with their tails between their legs.

"Okay, now tha--"

Noctis' lips found mine in a more deep and passionate kiss than earlier. This kiss made my whole body melt in his embrace. After our intense kiss, Noctis releases me. "You like to interrupt people a lot, don't you?" I ask while laughing. Noctis smirks and pecks me on the cheek.

"No, just you."
