~3rd Person POV~

"Huh? Where are the Chocobos?" Prompto asked, looking around the outpost. A man walked over to the group and greeted them. "Name's Wiz. I run this here Chocobo post. We aren't allowing anyone to rent our birds because of a Behemoth nearby. Thing's got the poor birds shaking."

"Behemoth?" Noctis questions. Wiz nods and shows them the poster. "Deadeye's been roamin' around these parts for a few weeks. Y'all wouldn't happen to know the hunter who took up the job, do ya?"

"Um, what does the person look like?" Noctis asked. "Well, she's got long brown hair and blue eyes. A small thing, she was. Took the hunt all by herself." Wiz's words caught Gladio and Ignis' attention. "You're telling me she took on the hunt without any help?" Gladio asked, disbelief in his tone. Wiz nods with a sigh. "I told her she should call some fellow hunters, but she just waved me off."

"Where is she now?" Ignis wondered.

"She's headin' to Deadeye's den as we speak."

They all gasp and ran back to the Regalia. "Why the hell would someone take on a Behemoth by themselves?" Noctis asked.

"Not sure. I'd be a shame if Dave lost another hunter," Gladio responds.

"Indeed. We'll provide aide when we do locate her," Ignis said. Prompto leaned back in his seat with his eyes lost in the sky above. He began to mumble incoherently to himself. "Long brown hair and blue eyes... She sounds pretty."

"Get your head out of the clouds, Prompto," Gladio said.

"What? I was just trying to imagine what she looks likes!" He defends. Noctis chuckled and began teasing his best friend. Ignis pulled the car over and told everyone to hop out. Damaged trees caught their attention. "Well, I guess we're in the right place," Noctis said as he looked around. A growl resonated not far from their location.

"We're definitely in the right place," Gladio comments. With caution, the group proceeds forward. They followed the growling and ended up at a small crouch space. Gladio pushed Noctis back so he could go first. While moving through the small space, they spotted Deadeye. They realized the Behemoth didn't have a horn or eye on the right side of its face. Gladio was about to speak up but was interrupted. Deadeye cries out in pain, making everyone look at the beast.

Ignis was the first one to notice the girl on the Behemoth's back. "I believe we've found our mysterious hunter," he said. The other three looked to where the advisor was looking. A girl who looked to be around Noctis' age caught his eye. Her small and nimble stature made it easy for her to dodge Deadeye's attacks.

"We've gotta help her!" Prompto shouts. They agreed and hurried out of the small space. Fog surrounded them, causing their vision to fail. Cries from the Behemoth could still be heard. The group followed the shrieks of pain and found themselves squeezing through a small gap. Once the area opened up, they saw a fence not far ahead. With caution, they jumped over the fence. Their eyes were glued to the battle before them.

The young girl delivered fatal blows to the Behemoth. When she went on the defensive, multiple lances surrounded her body. Small throwing knives were in her hands as she waited for an opening. Deadeye's fierce strikes couldn't pass her defense. She had thrown the beast off-balance and aimed all her lances at it. With a wave of her hand, all of the lances flew straight towards Deadeye. Each lance hit its mark, silencing the Behemoth. Blood poured from the wounds as the lances returned to the girl's side.

"Well, it seems she handled that very well," Ignis states. No one else could talk because of what just happened. Each one of them was impressed with her strength and abilities. They heard the girl sigh, her eyes darting to them. "You lot have been watching. It's not nice to sneak around," she said with a small giggle. The group jumps down and starts a small conversation with her.

"Y-you took down that thing by yourself!" Prompto was flabbergasted but smiled at her. "Compared to my other hunts, this one was a breeze. Try taking down a Bandersnatch by yourself. Now that's a challenge," she said with her hands on her hips. Gladio peered down at the small girl in front of them with surprise. "Damn, I'm impressed, little lady," he said with a faint chuckle. She grinned and dispelled her lances.

"If you're heading back to Wiz's, we can give you a lift," Noctis offered. The girl took up their offer and headed back to the Regalia. Once they arrived, the girl jumped out of the car as if it were an easy feat. She ran over to Wiz and gave him the good news. Wiz thanked the girl profusely and handed her the reward. The others stood by the car as she returned.

She suddenly tossed the gil to Gladio. The brute caught the bag just in time before he missed it completely. "I thank you for the ride. I want you all to take the reward. It seems you need it more than me."

"We can't accept this," Gladio said, trying to hand the gil back to her. The girl shook her head, refusing to take it. "It's my reward, so I get to choose what I do with it. In this case, I'm giving it to you." All four of them were taken aback. Ignis tried to speak, but she silenced him with a wave of her hand. "No more protesting. I wanted to give it to you because Wiz told me you were worried about me. Other hunters would've just left without hesitating to check on me."

"Thank you, Miss--?" Ignis starts, wondering what the girl's name was.

"Evelyn, but you can call me Evie for short."

"Miss Evie, we appreciate your kindness." Ignis gave a small and courteous bow.

"Yeah, this will really help, Evie," Noctis said, sending the young girl a smile. The click of a camera went off, making everyone turn to the blonde. "Sorry, couldn't help it," Prompto said with a small blush. Evelyn shook her head. "Don't worry about it. Well, I need to report to Dave. I hope to see you all again." She waved and headed to a car not far from the Regalia. They watched as she drove off.

"Aw, we didn't tell her our names," Prompto pouts. Noctis pats him on the shoulder. "I have a feeling we'll see her again soon," Gladio said. His fascination for the girl grew as her car vanished.

-A Month Later-

Even though a month had slowly passed, Gladio found himself thinking of Evelyn. Her skills and beauty made him mind wonder to different thoughts. He shook the girl from his thoughts as they pulled into Galdin Quay. They were delivering an ore to Dino, the reporter who promised them passage to Altissia on the next boat.

"Hey, isn't that Evie's car?" Noctis points to the familiar vehicle. Gladio eyes the car and saw it was definitely hers. Ignis pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "It seems Gladio was correct."

The dock creaked under their weight as they reached the restaurant and resort. Beautiful crystal clear water surrounded them as they headed further in.

"You asshole!"

All the men flinched at the sudden shout. They walked down the steps and saw an enraged Evelyn in front of Dino. He shrunk back in his seat as the girl gave him a death glare. "I-I'm sorry, Evie!" Dino's voice shakes with every word.

"Oh, it's Evie!" Prompto shouts joyfully at the sight of the hunter. Dino and Evelyn look towards the group that stood not too far away. Evelyn's eyes traveled to the ore in Noctis' hand. She walked over and pointed to the stone.

"May I borrow this?" She asked.

"Uh, sure." Noctis hands the ore over to her. She immediately spins around and throws the ore at Dino's head. It smacked him right on the forehead. "Ow! What's the big idea?!" Evelyn stomped over and continued her death glare.

"You're a lying asshole! That's the big idea! You promised safe passage and you lied right through your teeth!"

"Listen, I'm sorry, Evie."

"No, you're not! I've known you since we were little! I can tell when you're lying, Dino!"

The group just watched as Evelyn lashed out at Dino. When the argument continued for some time, Prompto began to laugh. Noctis also began to chuckle. A smile played on Ignis' lips as Dino tried his best to escape the rampaging Evelyn. Gladio crossed his arms with an amused look as he watched her grab Dino by the ear.

Once the yelling ceased, Evelyn ran a hand through her brown hair. She closed her crystal blue eyes slowly in frustration. "I'm leaving. You better not ask anyone else to get you ore or you'll be wishing I did feed you to the fish!" The hunter walked passed the group in a wrecked state. They were worried for her and followed close behind. She reached the beach and stopped in her tracks.

"I'm sorry you had to see that." Her apology took them all aback. "Whoa, you have nothing to apologize for," Noctis said. They all spoke until Evelyn relaxed. When the sun started to disappear beyond the horizon, it was only Evelyn and Gladio left on the beach. The others had some other business to attend to in Galdin Quay.

"Feel better?" He asked. She snorted from holding in her laughter. "Yeah. Too bad I couldn't throw in a few punches." It was Gladio's turn to laugh.

"We all want to punch that asshole," he states. Evelyn twirled a strand of hair around her finger as she remembered all the yelling. "... Was I loud?" Her sudden question raised shock in the brute. A smug look found its way onto his face. "Just... a little," he teased. She scoffed and shoved him lightly.

"Y'know, I don't even know your name. I stormed off before you could introduce yourselves."

"Gladio," he simply said. Gladio also told her the names of his friends. Her mood changed drastically. A graceful smile etched its way on her lips, making his heart race.

"Nice to meet you, Gladio."
