125) Gladiolus

~(Y/n)'s POV~

It was supposed to be a peaceful night in Fallaughns. Sadly, the peace was broken when Noctis and Gladio got into an argument about this morning's battle with Imperials. Ignis, Prompto, and I were having a hard time tuning out their deafening voices. When I was helping Ignis with cleaning the dishes, that's when I finally snapped.

"Enough!" Everyone, including the Chocobos, looked at me. My whole body was shaking with anger. "U-um, (Y/n)?" Prompto called my name more quietly than usual. He must think I'll snap at him next if he isn't careful. The blonde pointed to my hands. I looked down and saw I had broken the plate I was cleaning.

"Sorry, Ignis," I apologize. The advisor just shook his head. "Don't worry over such a small thing, (Y/n)." I knew I should've put the plate down before I'd lost it. I completely forgot about my dragon strength and broke the plate like it was nothing. Noctis and Gladio said nothing as they kept their wide eyes on me.

"You're bleeding," Ignis points out. When I saw my hands, blood was dripping through my fingers. "Don't worry about it," I said and approached the two loudmouths. I cross my arms and glare at them. They both shrunk back at my form. "Now, stop acting like children! The battle is in the past. Drop it!"

They both sigh. Gladio got up and headed to the tent. Noctis stayed glued to his chair around the fire. I pinch the bridge of my nose, annoyed of such childish behavior. I expected more from Gladio. He usually doesn't get so mad at such a little thing. I sat next to Noctis and crossed my legs. "Noct, tell me why Gladio snapped at you."

Noctis runs a hand through his raven locks with another frustrated sigh. "He got mad because I left your side and helped him." The words that left his mouth made me sigh. "Of course he did..." I murmur. With a smile, I placed a hand on Noctis' shoulder. "I'll talk to him." The prince nods and I head to the tent.

"Gladio, can we-"

When I opened the tent, no one was there. "Idiot!" I shout and run into the night. "(Y/n)!" Three voices called my name in unison. I ignore them and transform without a second thought.

In this form, I could see in the dark clearly. I flew low to ground and searched for Gladio. Countless of daemons had their attention on me, but I continued flying. A person I saw in my peripheral vision caught my attention. When I closed in, I spotted Gladio. He was facing an Iron Giant by himself. I could tell just by his swings that he was furious.

'Moron!' I shout internally. I swoop down and tackle the Iron Giant. Its heavy body crashes to the ground with a loud thud. The daemon tried to swing its blade at me, but I tore its arm off before it could. The Iron Giant pushes me off and charges at me. "(Y/n)!" Gladio shouts.

His shout grabbed my attention, making the Iron Giant tackle me over the bridge. The both of us fall to the chasm below. I tried to fly, but the Iron Giant had a grip on my leg. The weight of the daemon was too much for me to carry. I roared, trying to shake the Iron Giant off.

I craned my neck and shot ice at it. The ice freezes the Iron Giant. I pry the daemon off of my leg with my tail. With nothing dragging me down, I fly back to the bridge. When I spotted Gladio, I sent a sharp glare his way.

"(Y/n), listen... I-"

I growl, silencing the man. I shove him with my muzzle and continue to glare at him. I transform and cross my arms, refusing to look at him. A warm hand rested in my shoulder and I snapped at him. "You're an idiot! You could've died!"

Gladio said nothing. He just gave me an apologetic look. I took a deep breath and slumped against the railing that kept us from the chasm below. Before I could say another thing, two strong arms wrapped around my waist. Gladio pulls me away from the railing and into his chest. My head hits his toned chest, making me sigh. Gladio wasn't really one to apologize for his mistakes. I rested against his form and closed my eyes.

"Noct told me why you were arguing. You do realize I have dragon strength, right?" Gladio nods and rests his head on top of mine. "Hard not to forget, but I still worry about you." His honesty hit me like a tidal wave. "Then... you must know how I felt when you just vanished from camp. I searched for you and found that you were picking a fight with a daemon. Were you that mad at Noct to where you made my heart stop?"

"I know you won't forgive me easily."

"You're damn right I won't."

I broke free of his hold and spun on my heels to face him. I sent him a wicked grin. "You're gonna have to earn it, big guy."

"Y'know, when you grin like that, it's never a good thing," he said. I pat him on the chest with a giggle. "You know me so well. Let's head back to camp. You're going to apologize to Noct. He saved your ass this morning, whether you like it or not." Gladio grumbled under his breath as I transformed. He got on my back and I flew back to camp. The flight only took a few minutes before we arrived.

"Hey, (Y/n) found Gladio!" Prompto yells happily. Gladio gets off my back and heads over to where Noctis was sitting. "Can I ride on your back? I'd really like to snap some really amazing photos," Prompto begged. I snorted and pushed him away with my tail. "Aw, you're mean," he begins to pout. Before I transformed, Ignis approached me. "Any injuries?" I shook my head and went back to my human self.

"We're fine. Gladio just had to go and pick a fight with an Iron Giant."

"You are not joking?"

"Sadly, it's the truth. I've already scolded him for you."

Ignis smiles and thanks me. He takes his leave to finish cleaning up. I watch as Gladio made-up with Noctis. I walk over and pat both of them on the head. "No more ridiculous arguments, okay?" They nod and Noctis calls it a night. Prompto soon followed his best friend into the tent with a yawn. When Ignis was distracted with making coffee, I pecked Gladio on the cheek. "I forgive you," I whisper in his ear with a giggle.

Suddenly I was grabbed from behind. Before I could call out, my lips were silenced. Gladio trapped me in his arms and deepened the already passionate kiss. While we were kissing, I could feel him grinning as the kiss went on. His soft lips molded perfectly with mine. My body grew hot as he trailed his hands down my sides and arms. I was able to break free from his lips and see his face. A naughty grin played on his lips as he held me close.

"I can tell what you're thinking and it's a big "NO"!"

"What I'm thinking will come true soon enough. I'll just have to wait."

Heat radiated from my cheeks as he kissed me on the forehead. He smiled and ruffled my (h/c) hair. "See ya in the morning, buttercup."
