12) Ignis
~(Y/n)'s POV~
"(Y/n), I'm starving..." Prompto complains for the hundredth time. "The longer you complain, the longer you're going to have to wait," I fire back. Cooking for everybody was a complete nightmare. I don't know how Ignis does it every day. Prompto started moaning and groaning. I took a knife next to me and threw it. "Ah!" The knife lands right next to his hand. "Nice throw," Gladio commented. "Why, thank you." I glare at Prompto and he flinches.
"Now... Are you done?" I ask, my glare never wavering. "Y-yes, Ma'am." Prompto shot up and sat patiently. "I'll have to keep that in mind," Ignis said. I laughed lightly as I finished the meals. I made everyone's favorite and passed out the plates. Prompto thanked me with a goofy grin. "And Noct, I left the vegetables off the plate. I know how much you hate them." I handed him a plate with no vegetables. He smiled up at me and thanked me graciously. The last one was Ignis and I handed him a small cup of coffee with his plate. "I haven't had coffee in awhile," he said as I sat next to him. "I made it just the way you liked it. Don't hesitate to ask for more. I made a whole pot of it."
He took a sip and his face was full of shock. "This is amazing," he gasped. "I made them from vanilla coffee beans. It gives it a little more flavor," I tell him. "You should make coffee more often," he said. "Just tell me when you want coffee and I'll gladly make it for you, Ignis." He kissed me lightly on the cheek and I giggled. Everyone else was too absorbed in their own conversations to notice us.
We finished dinner and I cleaned up the mess. "Let me help you," Ignis insisted. I gently pushed him towards the tent. "You need to rest. I can handle the mess. You've been doing this the whole time since we left Insomnia. Leave the rest to me. I'll handle the meals for the next two weeks while you rest up."
"(Y/n), you always help me clean up. At least let me help." I shook my head. "Nope. Go rest. That's an order, Ignis Scientia." I put my hands on my hips. He sighed and headed to the tent with a hint of hesitation in his steps. I roll my eyes with a grin and continued cleaning up. It took me about an hour to clean up the mess and everyone was already asleep. I put the fire out and slept under the stars that night.
-One Weeks Later-
It's been one week since I took over cooking duty for Ignis. I noticed my sleep was getting less and less each night. I felt exhausted and my head hurts. I hid it from Ignis and the others so they wouldn't have to worry about me. I was heading to the Regalia when my vision suddenly blurred. I leaned against one of the doors to steady myself. I felt an arm go around my waist and support me. "(Y/n), you're very pale." Ignis held me tightly. I shook my head and rid myself of the dizzy spell. "I'm fine, Ignis. Thank you for worrying."
"You are a very stubborn girl," he said. I laughed gently at his statement. "Hey, takes a stubborn person to know one." He laughed and let me go. I pulled out the tent and began setting it up with Noctis. We finished and I headed into the woods to find some ingredients for dinner tonight. While searching, my vision swayed and I leaned against a tree. My legs gave away and I crashed to the ground. The bag I was holding fell to the ground and scattered different ingredients everywhere around me. I went to pick them up but couldn't see clearly. I passed out from exhaustion and waited for someone to find me.
~3rd Person POV (with Ignis)~
Ignis was searching around camp for (Y/n). She was nowhere and he started to worry. "Where's (Y/n)?" He asked Noctis. "She said she was heading into the woods to find ingredients for tonight," he replied. Prompto heard their conversation and joined in. "She's been gone for awhile now. I'm getting worried." Ignis looked at the blonde. "How long has she been gone?" He asked. "About two hours. She said it wouldn't take her long, but I feel like something happened to her," Prompto said, worry painted on his face. Ignis ran into the woods looking for the (h/c) haired girl he loved dearly.
When he finally found her, she was unconscious. Her body was on the ground and she was breathing fast. Ignis quickly picked her up and carried her back to camp. "Iggy, where did... (Y/n)!" Prompto stormed over and stared at the girl in Ignis' arms. "I'm taking her to the tent." Ignis carried (Y/n) into the tent and sat her down gently. Noctis, Gladio, and Prompto were peering in with worried expressions.
Ignis discovered (Y/n) had a fever and immediately took care of it. Her cheeks were slowly getting their rosy tint back. A few hour pass and her fever breaks. Now all he had to do was wait for her to open her beautiful (e/c) eyes. Ignis was hoping it would be soon because he wanted to see her warm and bright smile again. More hours passed and Ignis fell asleep next to (Y/n).
~(Y/n)'s POV~
When I opened my eyes, I saw a sleeping Ignis next to me. I laughed quietly and ran a hand through his hair. I noticed it was morning and all the guys were asleep. I removed myself from the tent and began preparing coffee for Ignis. If I prepared breakfast, he might get mad. I'll wait for him to wake up and we can cook together. I finished making the coffee and a sleepy Ignis emerged from the tent. Our eyes immediately met and I smiled. "Good morning~!" I cheer. He smiles back and I kiss him on the cheek. I placed a cup of coffee in his hands and he pecked my forehead. I started cleaning up the coffee mess I made as Ignis sipped on his coffee.
"How are you feeling?" He asked. "Much better thanks to you," I reply. "I swear, you're going to be the death of me," he said. I gently nudged him and he grinned. "Aw, did I worry you that much?" I coo. He clears his throat and turns away from me. I giggle and the others emerge from the tent. "Wow, even Noct is awake. What a surprise~" I sang. "Indeed," Ignis added. "Glad to see you're feeling better, (Y/n)," Noctis said, ignoring mine and Ignis' previous statement.
Gladio and Prompto were glad I was awake and took a seat around the fire. Noctis sat next to Prompto and started their own conversation. "Ignis, how about we cook breakfast together?" I ask. He suddenly chokes on his coffee and I rub his back. Gladio, Prompto, and Noctis laugh at the man. "Did I say something strange?" I ask, puzzled. Ignis shook his head and pushed his glasses up. "Not at all. It was just... Adorable."
I couldn't believe it. Ignis just said adorable. I jumped up and kissed him on the lips. "Let's cook breakfast together. It'll make it easier and quicker," I say. He nods in agreement and we cook together. It took less than ten minutes which was much quicker than just one of us cooking. "I should've suggested this earlier. We saved a lot of time," I say and prepare the plates. "Yes, I think we should cook the meals together," he said as he prepared the drinks.
"It also gives us an excuse to be alone from the others," I added. Ignis almost dropped a cup but quickly caught it. I started laughing at his actions. "I swear-"
"I'll be the death of you~" I finish his sentence and poke his nose. "Just make sure to come back and haunt me before you pass on. I'll be lonely without you." I took the plates and headed over to the others. Ignis chuckled and followed behind closely. We passed out everything and ate. After that, we cleaned up together and had a lot of time to ourselves we decided to head into the woods and search for ingredients since it didn't end up so well the last time. Ignis and I had the time of our lives and would never forget our little adventure into the woods, hand in hand.
