112) Noctis

~(Y/n)'s POV~

"You and your love for fishing," I groan as Noctis drags me to a small pond not far from camp. He carried the fishing rod over his shoulder while I carried a small cooler to keep the fish in if we catch any.

"What's wrong with fishing?" He asked with a smirk. I sigh and roll my eyes. "Nothing. You just... love it so much." Noctis glanced at me and saw that I was pouting. "Don't make that cute face, (Y/n). Do you think I would choose fishing over you?"

I raise an eyebrow at the prince. "Actually... yes, I do." Noctis stopped in his tracks once I said that. "Wait... you really think that?" He asked, completely taken aback from my response. I hid my grin as I passed him. "Oh, yeah. You love fishing more than me." I kept myself from laughing. I glanced over my shoulder to see his expression. He couldn't tell at all that I was teasing him.

I kept walking until I reached the small pond. Noctis came running over and quickly set the fishing rod down. Without warning, he grabbed me from behind and pulled my body towards his. I gasp as my back hits his chest. "You honestly think that?" The unsureness in his voice made me feel a little bad about teasing him.

I spin around in his arms and smile up at him. "Noct, I'm kidding. I was hoping you would have caught on by now." He began to blush in embarrassment. I began to laugh at his red cheeks. "I know you love me more than fishing. I just felt like teasing you." He sighed in relief and rested his head on mine. "You're awful, (Y/n)."

I snicker and pat his chest. "I know~" Noctis chuckled and let me go. While he prepared the fishing rod, I watched the fish swim by. I kneeled down and stuck a hand in the cold water. "There are a lot of fish in this small pond," I comment. Noctis hums in acknowledgment as he casts the line. I sat next to him while he stood up with the fishing rod. I took my shoes off and dipped my feet in the water.

I leaned my head back in ecstasy at the feeling. Even though the water was cold, it felt amazing on my feet. A few fish swam around my feet as if they were debating about nibbling on my toes. One fish jumped out of the water and splashed both of us. "Geez, that's freezing," Noctis groans as the water hits his skin. I snicker and grabbed Noctis' attention.

"What're you laughing at?"

"Oh, nothing," I sang. An idea popped into my head and I stuck a hand in the water. I splash some of the cold liquid on Noctis. He gasped as the water soaks his shirt. "Gods, (Y/n), that's cold!" He shouts as he tries to get warm.

"Um, Noct?" I saw that his fishing rod was bending. "Not falling for anymore of your tricks," he said, not paying attention to the rod. "You've got a bite." As soon as those words left my mouth, the fish yanked hard on the rod. Since Noctis still had a grip on the rod, he went flying into the water. The pond wasn't very deep so he could touch the bottom of the pond without having a problem.

I placed a hand over my mouth to contain my laughter. A frown rose to Noctis' lips as he approached me. "I feel like you and the fish are planning against me." My shoulders began to shake from holding in my laughter. I couldn't hold back the bursts of laughter any longer. Noctis' frown suddenly changed to a grin. My laughter ceased and I swallowed hard.

"O-oh, we should head back," I nervously said and began to back away slowly. Noctis took another step towards me and latched his hand on my wrist. I tried to pull myself free, but Noctis wasn't letting go anytime soon. He yanked me forward and my body fell into the pond. I pop my head above the water and glare at the prince. He laughs to a point where he began to hold his sides.

I wasn't able to touch the bottom of the pond completely because I was much shorter than Noctis. He stopped laughing and noticed my dilemma. Noctis smiled and pulled me towards him. "Do not say a word about my height," I grumble. He poked my cheek and messed with my (h/c) hair.

"Never even thought about it." From the smirk playing on his lips, it was exactly what he was thinking about. He still had me in his arms as he pulled us out of the pond. The only thing that wasn't wet were my shoes. At least something was dry.

"Payback has never been any sweeter," Noctis chuckled. I sent a small glare in his direction. He ruffled my wet hair and kissed me on the forehead. "I love you, (Y/n)," he said sweetly. My anger was washed away with that brilliant smile of his.

"I love you too, fish boy." I gave him a small peck on the cheek. "Fish boy?" He asked confusedly. I nodded and picked up my shoes. "Hope you like your new nickname." Noctis stumbled over his words as he tried to form a sentence. I left him in his stuttering state and headed back to camp. Noctis began to shout after me, but I ignored him with a grin.

"H-hey, wait up, (Y/n)!"
