100) Noctis

~(Y/n)'s POV~

(A/n: Your outfit for this one shot!)

"Your Majesty, what do you wish of me?" I bow to King Regis. He gazed out the window as if lost in thought. "My son and his companions have been captured by Soren. You are my only hope of getting him back safely."

I raised my head to respond to the king. "I shall bring your son and his companions safely home. You have my word."

"Thank you, my dear."

I left the throne room and decided to leave right away. While leaving Insomnia, I received a call from Cor. "I've sent you the location of Soren's whereabouts. Make sure to kill him, (Y/n)."

"Did you forget who you're talking to?"

"I should know by now you never miss your target."

"I'll contact you when my job is over," I said and hung up. I pulled up the coordinates of Soren's location. I typed the numbers in on my motorbike. The destination wasn't far from Lestallum. "It's about time Soren's paid for his crimes." I rev the engine and head to Soren's location.

As I found the coordinates, I also read the note Soren sent to King Regis. I scoff at the note. "A ransom or they will be killed. Typical villain stuff." I crumple the note and toss it over my shoulder. I made sure to hide my bike so any guards wandering the premises wouldn't spot it. I also put my hood up so no one could see my face. The coordinates led to a strange structure that looked like ancient ruins.

"Smart man. He chose this place because of the interference these ancient structures cause. It seems Cor was able to work around the interference barrier. I'll have to thank him again once this is over."

I was able to kill all the guards outside of the ruins. That's less men to worry about when Soren calls for reinforcements. I decided to use the front entrance to get rid of even more men. From there, I kept to shadows, killing anyone that I came across. The ruins were much bigger than I thought. "Now, if I were a bad guy, where would I keep important prisoners?"

I find a way to the lower and much darker levels. With a flick of my wrist, a small flame lights the area around me. "Much better." Countless of hallways made it possible for the prince to be anywhere. The search for him and his friends became a long one. Guards were everywhere but posed no threat. They were easy to get rid of.

"I feel like I'm killing all of Soren's men," I mumble to myself. My search took me to even darker places within the ruins. The flame kept bright as I wandered in the shadows. I suddenly heard people talking. "It too damn dark down here to see anything," one person groans.

"Our weapons are useless against the bars," another one said. I recognized the voice as Noctis'. "Do you think King Regis would really pay the ransom?" I knew that voice was Prompto's. It's not hard to recognize the voices of your friends when you went to school with them.

I approached the cell they were being held in. Noctis was the first one to notice me. "Who are you?" The prince asked with a glare. "An ally." Their eyes lit up at my response. It took very powerful magic to burn the bars of the cell. They all exit the cell and gaze at me.

"Why do you sound familiar?" Prompto asked as his eyes scanned my form. "No time to talk. You should have no problems leaving. I made sure the way was clear." I took an old torch from the wall and lit it for them. "Wait, where are you going?" Noctis asked.

"To kill Soren." I didn't say anything else and left. As I searched around for the main chamber of the ruins, the guys caught up with me. "You're going alone?" The man I assumed was Gladio asked. I ignored him and walked a little faster.

"My father sent you, didn't he?" Noctis questioned. I stopped in my tracks and spun on my heels to face them. "Listen, you all need to head back. Soren is my target. I appreciate the concern, but I must do this alone."

"Well, can we come with you? We can keep Soren's men off your back while you deal with him," Prompto suggests. He was giving me one of those smiles he would give me back in high school. I sigh in defeat and turn back around. "Alright, come on."

When we found the main chamber, I spotted Soren by himself. "Remember what you said," I pointed to Prompto as I said this. I enter the room and they follow close behind. "So, King Regis did send someone," Soren's gruff voice boomed loudly. Once he got a better look at me, his eyes went wide. "You're that assassin Cor always relies on!"

I summoned my blade and rested it at my side. "And you're the bastard who's killing hundreds of innocent people. Now that introduction are out of the way, I think it's time we ended this." Soren readied his broadsword. He whistled for reinforcements. Seconds flew by and no one showed up. "Where the hell are my men?!"

"Don't worry. They'll be damning you in hell once you get there." Soren gritted his teeth and charged at me. "Stay. Here," I demand. "Can you handle him by yourself?" Noctis asked. I nodded and also charged at Soren. We met halfway and our blades clashed. I pushed him back and jumped away from him to get a few feet between us.

"You're weak. I don't know what Cor sees in you," he taunts. I keep levelheaded, ignoring the taunt. Soren yelled and swung his blade wildly. He was just wearing himself out for some strange reason. Suddenly a strange aura surrounded his body.

He suddenly appeared in front of me. Soren swung his blade down in a quick motion. I was able to roll out of the way at the last second. "Dammit, he's made a pact with a daemon," I mumble. I pulled a small smoke bomb that Cor gave me for emergencies. I threw it on the ground and the smoke hid my form. I quickly used cloning magic and split myself into three. The two clones jump out of the smoke to attack Soren. I take the chance and climb to a higher place.

Soren wasn't aware that those were both clones. "So, which one of you is the real one?" He smirks at the clones. They both grinned and shrugged. "Maybe she is, or it could be me." One clone points between both of them. Soren was getting even more furious. I held my sword tightly and waited for the clones to push Soren back. Once they did, I jumped down and aimed my blade for his heart.

"You might wanna pay attention," a clone said. Soren was confused until my blade pierced through his chest. Blood drips from the edge of my blade as I rip it out of his body. Soren then begins to cough up blood. He turned around and stared at me with wide eyes. Soren's body fell limp before he could say anything. I shake the blood off my sword and dispel it.

"I've never seen someone fight like that," the prince's advisor states. "Now that it's over, can we know who you are?" Noctis' blue eyes bore into me. I returned to their side, slowly taking off my hood.
"(Y-Y/n)?!" Promtpo shouts in disbelief. My (h/c) hair tumbles out of the hood. "Hold on, isn't that the name of the girl Noct li-"

Noctis elbows Gladio in the stomach. "The last time we saw you was high school graduation," Prompto points out. "I guess it has been awhile," I said with a smile. Gladio bends down to my level and whispers in my ear. "These two never shut up about you, especially Noct."

"What did you tell her?" Noctis demands. Gladio smirks and waves the prince off. "You should all head back to the palace. King Regis is expecting you." I walked pass them, heading to the area I entered. "Hold on!" Noctis shouts. I stop in my tracks at his sudden shout. I peer over my shoulder at him. "Noct, I must get going."

"But-" Prompto's depressed tone almost made me turn around and rethink my options. I could also tell that Noctis was also sad at my decision without even looking at him. I push both of them out of my thoughts and head back. As I got on my motorbike, Noctis was running towards me.

"It's been years since we've seen you. Then when we do meet, you blow us off!" I didn't blame Noctis for getting angry. "Noct, I was hired to save you. That's all. This wasn't a reunion. Now, I must head out. Cor will be wondering where I am."

His eyes were full of hurt. It broke my heart to see him like this. "I'm sorry, Noct." I placed the key in the ignition. Before I could speed off, Noctis did the unexpected. He pulled me off the bike and wrapped his arms around my waist. Before I could protest, Noctis' lips found mine. Sparks flew and I placed my hand on his cheeks to pull him even closer. My mind was a complete mess because of the kiss.

I had to pull away because I couldn't breathe. Gasping for air, I leaned my head against his chest. His hands around my waist tightened. My knees felt weak, but I clung to Noctis so I wouldn't fall. "Now will you stay?" I could tell he was enjoying seeing me like this. As I still cling to him, I gazed up into his beautiful blue eyes. "You. Are. A. Jerk." Noctis chuckled as he tangled his fingers in my (h/c) hair. "You still love me," he cheekily said. I sighed and couldn't hold my smile back.

"And that will never change."
