~(Y/n)'s POV~

"I can't believe it. Why can't he do it himself?" I groan to myself as I walk through the streets of Altissia with my arms full of books. I could hardly see anything in front of me. "Making his daughter do his work so he can slack off and drink," I mumble. I sighed and that's when I ran right into someone. The books in my hands flew everywhere and I fell on my rear.

"I'm so sorry!" I say as I look up at the person I ran into. He had blonde hair and blue eyes. "Are you okay?" He asked with worry laced through his voice. "I'm alright. I couldn't see where I was going and ran into you. Are you injured?" It was my turn to ask. He shook his head and smiled. "I'm better than fine. Here, let me help you." He extended his hand out for me to grab and I gladly accepted his help. We began picking up the books I dropped.

"Prom, what are you doing?" A man with tattoos on his arms asked. "Don't tell me you're hitting on this young lady?" Another man with sunglasses walked up. "I'm just helping her!" He yelled in protest. I picked up the last book and put it on top. "Thank you for helping me," I smile. His face starts turning red and I giggle. "T-those are heavy. M-maybe I could help you carry a few?" He asked. "Are you sure?"

"Of course!" He cheered. "Glad, Iggy, I'll meet up with you later," he said to the two men. "Alright, Prompto. Be nice to her," the man with tattoos waved and left. "You know where to meet us," the man with sunglasses said and left as well. "If you're busy, I can handle the books," I say. He shook his head. "I'm not going to walk away from a beautiful girl who needs help." I blushed at his words and he smiled. "I'm Prompto. What's your name?"

"It's nice to meet you, Prompto. I'm (Y/n)," I smile warmly. "A beautiful name for a beautiful girl," he complimented. I looked away in embarrassment. "W-we need to take these books to Lunafreya," I say, trying to control my voice. Prompto gasped at my words. "Is something wrong?" I ask. "You know Luna?" I nodded.

"Do you know about the wedding?"

"Yes. She's my closest friend. We tell each other everything."

"Hey... After we drops these books off, I want you to meet someone."

"Who?"

"My best friend. He's actually the one who's marrying Luna."

"Hold on. You're friends with Prince Noctis?" He nods. I couldn't believe I ran into one of the Prince's friends. Now I feel more ashamed of taking him with me. "(Y/n), you okay?" I got lost in thought and didn't know I stopped walking. Prompto's face was a few inches away from mine and I started blushing for the hundredth time today. "I-I'm fine, Prompto. We're almost there." I speed past him and I could hear him laughing behind me. "You're shy~" He chanted. I walked faster and turned a corner and accidentally ran into another person.

"I'm such a klutz!" I yell out of instinct. Luckily I was able to keep ahold of the books. "I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going," I apologize. The person I ran into started chuckling deeply and a chill ran down my spine. I knew that evil laugh from anywhere. "Tarino..." My voice trails off. "Ah, my sweet (Y/n). I've finally found you," he grinned evilly. I took a step back and was about to run off and find Prompto.

"You're not escaping me that easily." He grabbed my arm and all the books fell on the ground. I yelped in pain and he dragged me into an alleyway and pinned me against the wall. His large frame loomed over me and fear made my body shake. "Now... Let's see how beautiful you really are," he laughed like a maniac. His free hand began reaching for my clothes. I closed my eyes and prayed. Suddenly I heard a click and Tarino growled. I opened my eyes and saw the one person I wanted to see. "P-Prompto..." I mutter.

"Let. Her. Go," he growled. Tarino looked at Prompto and then back at me. "So, you've got yourself a knight in shining armor. How sweet," he said with a grin. Prompto fired his gun and the bullet grazed Tarino on his cheek. "Did you not hear me?" Prompto rested his finger on the trigger. Tarino glared at him and let me go. I fell to the ground in a shaking heap. Tarino disappeared and Prompto ran to me. His arms immediately wrapped around my body and rested his head on top of mine.

"You're okay. He's not going to hurt you..." He whispered to me. I still continued to shake and cry. Prompto moved one of his hands to the top of my head and began stroking my (h/c) hair. "Is everyone alright?!" The men from earlier ran into the alley. There was another man with them that I didn't recognize. "Prompto, what happened?"

"Gladio, could you pick up the books?" Prompto asked. Gladiolus nodded and picked each book up. "Prompto, tell us what happened," the man with sunglasses demanded. Prompto told him the whole story and held me closer. Ignis, as I learned his name from the conversation, didn't ask questions. P-Prompto..." I whisper his name. I wanted to say something else, but my crying made it difficult. He continued to comfort me as he picked me up in his arms. "Let's go see Luna. Do you know the way, Noctis?" He asked the man with raven hair. He nods and we began heading down my usual path to see Lunafreya.

Noctis knocked on the door and Luna herself answered. Her eyes landed on me and she ran over to me while I was still in Prompto's arms. She rested a hand on cheek. "(Y/n), you're shaking! Bring her in," Luna said and Prompto followed her. Gladio had all the books in his hand and Luna told him where to put them. "May I talk to (Y/n) alone?" Luna asked. Prompto looked hesitant, but he gently laid me down on the couch. The four men left and Luna sat with warm hands on my back.

"(Y/n), sweetheart, tell me what happened?" She asked softly. "T-Tarino's in Altissia. H-he knows I'm here and he t-tried to attack me," I say between shaky breaths. "Wait here. I'll be back shortly. I'm going to order for this man to be found and arrested." Luna stood up and left the room. I brought my knees up to my chest and hugged them tightly. The door to the room opened slowly and saw Prompto standing there. He came over and sat next to me.

"(Y/n)..." At the sound of his voice, I started crying again. He immediately hugged me and brought me close to him. I buried my face in his chest as my tears kept falling. Prompto whispered sweet nothings in my ear and rubbed my back gently. It soothed me and before I knew it, I fell asleep in his arms.

~3rd Person POV~

Prompto looked down and noticed (Y/n) fell asleep. A smile formed and he couldn't help but rest his head against hers. The door opened to reveal Noctis, Ignis, Gladiolus, and Lunafreya. They all smiled at the scene before them. Prompto didn't care that they saw. All he cares about was (Y/n). She was safe in his arms and no one could hurt her. "I have the whole city looking for Tarino. He will be caught and punished," Luna said.

"Who's Tarino?" Noctis asked. Luna was a little hesitant to tell them about (Y/n)'s past, but she knew she could trust them. "Tarino... Killed (Y/n)'s mother. Her father was out on guard duty and couldn't save her. Tarino killed (Y/n)'s mother right in front of her. He tried to capture (Y/n), but he was stopped when her father walked in. Her father grabbed her away from Tarino and left to warn the other guards. They went to retrieve Tarino, but he was already gone." Luna's eyes never left (Y/n)'s sleeping form.

"That's horrible," Prompto said with a sad tone. "We've been friends ever since we were little. Noctis, you've met her before. She accompanies me to Lucis all the time." Noctis looks to said girl and recognizes the (h/c) hair. His eyes grow wide in realization. Gladiolus chuckled at his shocked expression. "You didn't recognize her at first?" He asked. "No, it's been years since I've seen her."

"Yes. She hasn't accompanied to Lucis in years. I completely understand that you wouldn't recognize her, Noctis. She would go comfort her father while I was away. He became a heavy drinker after the death of his wife. He's tried to stop, but he can't. (Y/n)'s been trying to help him," Luna said.

Someone's phone started ringing and Noctis began searching through his pocket. He answered the phone and made it a quick conversation. "There's an emergency in Lucis," he said. "But what about (Y/n)?" Prompto asked Noctis. Ignis and Gladiolus exchanged looks with the Prince. "You stay here with her. We'll be back to get you soon," Ignis said. Prompto's eyes glowed with happiness. Noctis said goodbye to Luna and left with Ignis and Gladiolus. Prompto continued to hold (Y/n) and fell asleep with her.

~(Y/n)'s POV~

I opened my eyes slowly and noticed I was still in Prompto's warm embrace. His head was laying on top of mine and I could hear him snoring a little bit. I giggled and smiled. A groan came from him and his eyes slowly opened. "Good morning," I smile warmly. Prompto stretches and yawns. "Good morning, (Y/n)." We stand up from the couch and see the morning sun shining through the window.

"The books!" I remember the reason why I was supposed to be here. Prompto laid his hands on my shoulders and stared into my (e/c) eyes with his ocean blue ones. "Already taken care of. Hey, could you show me around Altissia?" He asked. I nodded happily and grabbed his hand. Before we walked out, Luna walked over and greeted us. "Good morning, Luna," I grin happily. "Good morning,
(Y/n), Prompto. I see you both are heading out," she smiled and gestured to our connected hands. We both nod and Luna tells me how Prompto asked Ncotis if he could stay behind and make sure I'm okay.

I unconsciously hugged him and he wrapped his arms around me. "Thank you for worrying, Prompto." He rests his head on my shoulder. "Let's have some fun~!" He says. I giggle and we leave a grinning Luna behind. We spent the whole day visiting places in Altissia. The sun was setting and we were close to my house. I took Prompto to my house and told him he could stay as long as he wanted. My father wouldn't be back until next week because of an important mission. We had dinner and fell asleep with each other.

-Weeks Later-

It was time for Prompto to leave Altissia. My heart felt like it was shattering into millions of pieces. Noctis, Ignis, and Gladiolus were waiting for Prompto by the entrance of Altissia. Prompto's hand never left mine as we walked to meet with his friends. We chatted like there was no tomorrow. "I guess it's time to go..." He mutters sadly as the car and his friends came into view. We reach the car and Gladiolus was grinning at me. "How was our little Prom?" He asked. I giggled and Prompto began arguing with Gladiolus. Noctis and Ignis walked up to me with smiles. "I hope he wasn't too much trouble," Ignis said.

"He was no bother. I enjoyed his company very much," I reply. Noctis and Ignis sigh in relief and I laugh at them. "Thanks for sticking with him," Noctis said. "I had the time of my life. I can tell you're all busy and I shouldn't hold you up," I say. "We have another mission to attend to. We should head out," Ignis informed Prompto. He nodded sadly and everyone but him hopped in the car.

"(Y/n)..." My name rolled off his tongue smoothly. I smiled and rested a hand on his cheek. "Don't forget to visit. I'll be lonely without you," I say honestly. He nods and rests a hand over mine. He turns around to get into the car but stops suddenly. "Prom-"

I was cut off when Prompto smashed his lips against mine. I gasped and he deepened the kiss. I could hear Gladiolus whistling in the background and began blushing. I began kissing back. After minutes of no air, we break the kiss and catch our breath. "That. Was. Amazing~!" He cheered. I was the only one blushing. I rested my hands on my cheeks to hide the redness. "I'll see you as soon as I can,
(Y/n). I promise," he said without breaking eye contact. I gave him a peck on the cheek and he hopped in the car. They all waved goodbye and I followed behind. The car sped off and disappeared in the distance.

"Well, I better go see Luna." I turn to leave until I hear a car engine. The car that held the guys was speeding straight towards me. Prompto was standing in his seat with one arm out. "Did he forget something?" I ask myself. Before I could comprehend, I was grabbed in Promtpo's arm and pulled into the car. I yelped as he pulled me into his lap. "I forgot something," he said. "What did you forget?" I ask.

"You."
