~3rd Person POV~
"You can't be serious right now..." Noctis groans, glaring at the red-haired man that stood before them in Hammerhead.
"A pleasure as always, gentlemen," the chancellor bows politely while holding his hat.
"I feel like he's following us," Prompto mutters to his friends.
"You're not the only one," Gladio said.
"It seems he has a plus one," Ignis nods towards the small woman behind the man. She wore a beautiful dress and seemed to wear no shoes.
Her glistening (h/c) locks framed her face beautifully. Sadly, her (e/c) eyes were brimming with melancholy. She didn't make eye contact with anyone and sealed her lips tightly.
Ardyn noticed their stares and gestured for the girl to stand next to him. Listening, she stood next to the chancellor. "This is my darling (Y/n)." When his hand touched her shoulder, she visibly tensed up and flinched. Noctis noticed and glared at the older man. Ardyn refused to acknowledge the prince's glare and spoke. "Excuse me for a moment. (Y/n), please entertain them in my absence."
Once Ardyn was out of earshot, Noctis stepped closer to the small girl. "From your reaction, I can tell you're not a close friend or anything like that. Why're you with that bastard?"
"I... I have no choice," her sweet voice confesses.
"What do you mean? You can tell us anything, (Y/n)," Prompto smiles gently at the frightened girl.
"N-No, I can't tell you," she shook her head.
Noctis saw the fear growing in her eyes and saw a few tears brewing. Trying to calm her down, he took her small hands in his and held them gently. "Calm down, (Y/n). We won't let him hurt you."
"Are you with him willingly?" Ignis questioned.
"N-No, I am not even from this world," she admits in a hushed voice.
The royal retinue was having a hard time believing she was from a different world. To show them proof, (Y/n) freed her hands from Noctis' and pulled her hair away from her ears.
Prompto gasped, "No way..."
"That's enough proof for me," Gladio comments as he saw her pointy ears.
"You're an elf?" Noctis asked, still trying to absorb the revelation.
"Yes. I am princess of the Vann'ahellia clan. We are the only Dalish clan with nobility status in Thedas."
"How'd you end up on Eos?" Prompto ponders.
"That man, Ardyn, captured me from my home and brought me to this world. I have been his prisoner for five years."
"Your clan must be worried 'bout you," the shield sorrowfully said.
"We elves are a happy and peaceful people. We do not interfere with human society unless completely necessary," (Y/n) exclaims.
Noctis fell silent before staring into her (e/c) eyes. "We're getting you the hell outta here." He grabbed her hand and when Ardyn was nowhere in sight, he took her to the Regalia. The others followed and entered the vehicle. Noctis let (Y/n) in so she could sit in the middle. As he climbed into the car, the prince leaned forward. "Drive as fast as you can, Specs."
Ignis nods and does as the prince said. Speeding away from Hammerhead, the group sighs in relief, except for (Y/n). She remains deathly silent, placing her hands in her lap.
"Where to, Noct?" Prompto asked.
"Let's find a place to camp. Once Ardyn knows (Y/n)'s gone, he'll be searching for us. The safest place for us to spend the night would be at a haven."
Ignis drove to Digythe Haven in Duscae, knowing it was far from Hammerhead and away from Ardyn. As they arrived, (Y/n) had insisted in helping them with the camping gear, but Noctis refused to let her help.
With camp all set up, the group sits down and relaxes. Luckily, the boys had an extra seat in the trunk and (Y/n) was able to relax beside them.
To break the silence, Noctis glances over at (Y/n) and asked her a question. "What's Thedas like?"
"A wonderful and beautiful place. Though we just recovered from the fifth Blight, King Alistair has prioritized those who had lost their homes and families during the atrocity. While demons are an issue, we are more concerned with the Darkspawn that still choose to linger even after the Blight."
"You have daemons in your world, too?" Prompto asked.
"Yes, but they are not like the ones found on Eos. The Fade is where these demons fester and use mages to find outlets into Thedas."
Noctis perked up when he heard 'magic'. "You have magic in your world?"
"Yes. Unlike Eos, magic is wielded more commonly amongst the people of Thedas. Elves and humans are the races that are able to use it. The Qunari and Dwarves do not specialize in such talent."
"Can you use magic?" Gladio ponders.
(Y/n) nods, stands up, and summons a staff.
"So cool!" Prompto squeals.
"What is your specialty?" Ignis decided to ask.
"All elements. I also am able to use forbidden blood magic."
"Sounds... creepy. Why didn't you use your magic to escape from Ardyn?" Prompto inquires, leaning forward in his seat.
"He threatened my clan if I used my magic against him. I could not bear to be the one behind the destruction of the Vann'ahellia clan. They are my family."
"We'll make sure he pays," Noctis reassures. "What would happen if you used your blood magic against him?"
"I could stop the man's heart for good." All the boys fell silent. (Y/n) noticed and quickly reassured them. "I would never use blood magic against friends, especially ones that saved me from such a cruel man."
Prompto sighed, "That's good to hear."
"He'll no longer be an issue for anyone if you stop his heart," Noctis said.
"He works for the empire. All those bastards deserve to die," Gladio growls.
"If you are willing to aid us, (Y/n)," Ignis said.
The elf nods, "Yes, I will. He will die by my hands for all those horrid things he's done to me."
"So, how're we gonna do this?" Prompto wondered.
"Since Ardyn is after me, it should prove to be no feat to lure him into a trap," (Y/n) exclaimed. Accepting her answer, the boys went back to relaxing.
Nighttime rolled around and everyone except Noctis and (Y/n) had gone to bed. The elf sat primly in her seat and failed to notice the glances she was receiving from the prince. Her (h/c) locks radiated from the burning flames and her (e/c) eyes were slightly larger than a normal humans, creating a beautiful and innocent image.
"Noctis, are you alright?" (Y/n) asked when she caught him staring.
The raven-haired boy cleared his throat and quickly darted his eyes elsewhere. "Y-Yeah, I'm fine." Noctis changed the subject, "Is there anyone waiting for you back home besides your family?"
(Y/n) smiles, "If you're talking about a suitor or husband, then no. My parents wish for me to marry who I love and not for diplomatic reasons."
"That's good to hear..." Noctis sighs.
"And why's that?"
"I thought maybe Thedas was a place where royalty was forced to marry into another royal family."
"Not at all. What about Eos? I'm aware you're a prince yourself. No arranged marriages or lovely maidens waiting?"
"None. My dad thinks the same way your parents do."
"Eos is a beautiful world filled with wonderful and kind souls. I may wish to stay a little longer after Ardyn is dealt with."
Noctis smiles, "I'll gladly be your tour guide."
"Then, I've made up my mind. Thedas can wait for a few more days. I look forward to spending more time with you, Noctis."
His smile widens. "Same here, (Y/n)."
-Next Day-
With the camping gear all packed and the plan agreed upon, the boys and (Y/n) departed. Ignis drove all the way to Galdin Quay without stopping. Safely parked, they all exited the Regalia and discussed the plan once more.
"So, (Y/n)'s gonna wait on the docks for Ardyn while we hang back? I don't like this plan," Prompto admits.
"If the chancellor's desire is to reclaim (Y/n), it is best for her to be seen alone," Ignis states.
"We'll be watchin' from a distance to make sure everything goes smoothly," Gladio reassures the blonde boy.
"How close do you need him to be in order for the blood magic to work?" Noctis ponders.
"I will need to touch him," (Y/n) answers.
Noctis' eyes slightly widened. "You can't do it from afar?"
"In order for me to ensue a quick death, I must alter his blood flow. That is only obtainable if I am touching him."
Hearing that (Y/n) would have to touch the chancellor irked the prince to no end. In the end, he couldn't protest and decided to let the young elf walk to the docks without them. "I don't like this..." Noctis mutters.
"Already got a crush on our new friend?" The shield smirked, throwing an arm around the boy's shoulder.
"You gotta admit-(Y/n)'s kind, beautiful, and sweet. I wonder if all elves in her world are like that," Prompto said.
Noctis shoved Gladio away and refused to answer his question. "Let's find a vantage point. I hope this doesn't take long."
The group walked into the Mother of Pearl and found a place to sit that was out of view from the crowd, but they were able to see the docks perfectly.
Not long after the boys fell into silence, Prompto grabbed Noctis' attention and pointed to the docks. Looking over his shoulder, he saw Ardyn had arrived. The four watched as the chancellor sent harsh glares to (Y/n) as he approached her slowly. They weren't able to hear the conversation as it dragged on. Once Ardyn was close enough, he stuck his hand out to (Y/n). The elf frowned before accepting it.
"What is-" Noctis was silenced when he saw Ardyn's body begin to crinkle in pain and deep gurgles left the man. Seconds turned into minutes as the chancellor's strength left him and collapsed to the ground. The boys flew to their feet and stormed down the stairs to reach (Y/n). When they made it to the docks, Ardyn's body disintegrated with an eerie green light. "It is done," she whispers.
"H-His body..." Prompto stuttered.
"Has vaporized. Those who die by magic from my world do not leave any remains behind."
"At least we don't have a dead body on our hands," Gladio sighs.
Noctis glances down to where Ardyn's body once was and noticed a small pool of blood. When a drop added to the pool, the prince followed where it had fallen from to see (Y/n)'s hand was sliced open. She sensed his eyes and quickly covered the wound. "This will heal with simple magic. Do not fret over it, Noctis."
"How'd you cut yourself?" Prompto asked.
"I did it intentionally with a small dagger. In order to use blood magic, one must cut themselves. When my blood comes in contact with what I wish to manipulate, the spells are easier to cast and there are no ill or rippling effects."
"Let's get the hell outta here. Ardyn's gone and that's all that matters," Noctis said, wishing to stop talking about blood magic. The others nod and they depart from Galdin Quay.
-Coernix Station-
"What're you gonna do now, (Y/n)?" Prompto asked as Noctis refilled the tank.
"I wish to stay here for a few more days before departing for Thedas. Eos is such a lovely place. It'd be a shame if I returned now and missed so much."
"Do you even know how to get back to your world?" Gladio wondered.
"A simple mirror shall suffice. Ardyn made sure I was never around any."
"If it's that convenient, you could always stay longer," Noctis said without hesitation. When he registered his own words, the prince blushed in embarrassment.
"It seems Gladio was correct," Ignis muttered.
"Told ya he's in love," the shield chuckles.
Luckily, (Y/n) didn't hear as Prompto had grabbed her full attention before she could respond. He mentally thanked the blonde before whispering, "And what if I am?"
"Go for it, Noct. Not like (Y/n)'s goin' anywhere anytime soon," Gladio said, clapping the boy on the back.
"I'll tell her after we give her a tour of Lucis. How does that sound?"
"Perfect."
-A Week Later (Lestallum)-
Noctis and (Y/n) walked side by side as they navigated the streets of Lestallum, the moon above casting its halo across the dark sable sky. "How was it?" The prince asked as they came to a stop in the market. With it being so late, the crowd had died down and silence was all that lingered.
"I enjoyed every second of it. Thank you, Noctis," (Y/n) smiles sweetly.
"Does this mean... you'll be returning to Thedas?" He asked sadly.
The young elf moved her gaze to the Disc of Cauthess. "I haven't seen my family in such a long time. It's best I return to relieve them of their worry."
"Yeah," he mutters, eyes downcast. "Can I ask you something, (Y/n)?"
"Anything, Noctis. I am all ears."
"What if someone said that they love you?"
(Y/n) fell silent for a few seconds before answering. "I would be flattered. Such an odd question to ask, don't you agree?"
"Completely strange," Noctis chuckles lightly.
(Y/n) placed a hand on his shoulder. "Who is this someone? You wouldn't have asked unless you knew something that I didn't."
The raven-haired boy rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "Y-Yeah, I-I know someone who l-loves you..."
(Y/n)'s smile widened as she got on her tippy toes and kissed the corner of his lips. "I'm glad you feel the same way."
His eyes widened at the sudden kiss and her perception skills. "H-How'd you..."
"Your nervousness. One does not get that nervous if he was not talking about himself," she giggles.
Noctis was able to push his nervousness and embarrassment to the side as he wrapped an arm around (Y/n)'s waist and pulled her body close to his. He leaned down and sealed her lips in an intoxicating kiss. Noctis snuck his other hand under her chin, lifting it more so he could deepen the kiss.
Not wishing for wandering eyes, the two broke the kiss. The prince kept an arm around (Y/n)'s waist as she rested her head on his chest. "I love you, Noctis."
"I love you, too, (Y/n)."
