204) Horizon: Zero Dawn-Noctis

~3rd Person POV~

Pushing through thick brush, Noctis sighs in annoyance. "Where the hell am I?" He scanned his surroundings and found concrete structures that seemed to be ruined buildings. The prince had yet to find any signs of life besides small critters like rabbits and rats. He was hoping to find help from a non-hostile person. Sadly, he hadn't come across anyone.

As he walked across the remains of a sidewalk, Noctis heard the sound of grinding nearby. Curiosity taking over his body, the prince follows the strange noise. Quietly, Noctis pushes through some tall grass and spotted a group of machines that seemed to resemble hyenas.

Without a thought in his mind, Noctis approached the machines. When he kicked a pebble near his feet, the machines snapped their gazes towards him. Their once clam blue eyes now radiated with a hostile red tint as they charged at him. With a quick flick of his wrist, Noctis tried to summon his javelin. When nothing appeared in his grasp, his eyes widened in disbelief.

Noctis tripped over his own feet when one of the machines lunged at him. Falling to the ground, he closed his eyes and awaited the pain to fester his being. When he felt nothing, Noctis opened his eyes to see the machine was dead. Checking the other machines that had chased him, he noticed they were all lifeless, as well.

"What the-how?" He asked, getting to his feet.

"You alright?" Someone asked. Noctis turns around to see a girl around his age with a bow in her hands.

"Y-Yeah. Did you kill them?"

She nods and slings her bow across her back. "I've never seen someone approach Scrappers so carelessly. What were you thinking?"

"I... uh, um... what's a Scrapper?" Noctis stumbled over his words.

"Hold on-you've never seen a Scrapper? Where are you from? I've never seen such strange clothing."

"Insomnia. And how am I the one wearing strange clothes?" Noctis gestured to her outfit.

(A/n: I know this isn't from the game, but I wish this outfit was!)

She laughs at his question and placed a hand on her hip. "You clearly aren't from here. That must mean you're Noctis."

"How do you know my name?" Noctis asked.

"Three men were searching for you when they got attacked by a flock of Glinthawks. They told me your name and I've been searching for you ever since."

"So, uh... how long ago was this?"

"About three days ago."

Noctis fell silent. He had only awoken today in this strange and dangerous world. The girl before him peered into his face with worried (e/c) eyes. "You sure you're alright?"

"Fine. Just... more lost than anything," he answers with a slight distant look in his sapphire irises.

"Guess coming from another world does that to you," She lightly giggles. Noctis' eyes widened at her words. The girl noticed his expression and answered the question that was on the edge of his tongue but couldn't push out. "Your friends have already filled me and my sister in on your predicament."

"And you believe every word?"

"The look in their eyes and the desperation in their tones were enough to convince both of us. My sister, Aloy, and I have seen and heard much."

"You have no idea what a relief it is to hear someone say that," Noctis smiles.

"That's exactly what your friends said," she laughs. "I'm (Y/n). Your friends are safe and in the care of a fellow ally. You'll see them soon enough."

"Thanks for earlier. I didn't know the machines were hostile."

"Don't worry about it. Let's get you reunited with your companions," (Y/n) said and whistled. A machine known as a 'Charger' appeared and saddled up to them.

"Let's not stick around. More machines will be passing by any minute now." (Y/n) mounted the machine, waiting for Noctis to follow her lead. When he didn't, the girl faced the prince with a raised brow. "You want to see your friends, right?"

"Y-Yeah," Noctis stutters, his eyes glued to the friendly machine.

"Then, hop on! I've overridden its software. It's not gonna hurt us," She reassures with a sweet smile. Carefully, Noctis mounted the machine and sat behind (Y/n). "You're also going to need to hold on to me. Wouldn't want you falling off."

Noctis swallowed hard before wrapping his arms around (Y/n)'s waist. As they took off, the sound of a much larger machine could be heard. Noctis scanned all around him to see if he could get a glimpse of the machine. When he did, he noticed it didn't resemble a Scrapper or a Charger. The outer shell was black and much larger than he thought.

"Why is Eclipse all the way out here?" Noctis heard (Y/n) murmur.

Suddenly, bullets rained upon them as the machine spotted them. (Y/n) sped up, telling Noctis to keep his head low. Luckily, with her quick thinking and skills, (Y/n) maneuvered the Charger through collapsed buildings and into the lush forest. The machine was unable to see them and the bullets ceased.

"What the hell was that thing?" Noctis asked.

"A Deathbringer. It's a Faro machine, controlled by a corrupted program known as HADES. Under the influence of HADES is a group known as 'Eclipse'. They're cultists who wish to wipe out humanity with those cursed things."

"How'd you know it was there? I didn't even hear it until it got pretty damn close," Noctis asked as he straightened his back out.

"There's a small device in my ear called a 'Focus'. I was able to pick up the machine's movements before taking out the Scrappers."

Noctis leaned slightly to the right to see the device. It was a triangular-shaped silver device with a radiating blue strip in the middle. "Can you show me how it works?"

(Y/n) nods with a gentle smile. "Of course. Once we get to safety, I'll show you."

Noctis felt a genuine smile etch across his face. He had no idea such words could make him happy. Maybe it was because she came to his rescue and is helping him regroup with his most trusted friends. He knew most people would've called him crazy and turn their backs to him and his friends. Knowing someone like (Y/n) was helping made the prince feel more at ease in this world.

-An Hour Later-

"We're here, Noctis," (Y/n) said as they rode into a liberated bandit camp.

Safely inside the makeshift walls, Noctis hops off the Charger and follows (Y/n) through the camp. Unlike the outside, the camp was full of smiles and laughter. Even children were running around with one another. The smell of delicious food wafted through the air, making the prince's stomach rumble loudly. Embarrassed, he quickly hid his face when (Y/n) turned to face him.

"Nothing to be embarrassed about. I would be surprised if you weren't hungry," she smiles. Noctis follows (Y/n) to the opposite side of the camp and spotted familiar faces.

Prompto spotted his best friend and jumped to his feet. "Noct!" Gladio and Ignis followed suit at hearing the blonde shouting the prince's name. Once he and (Y/n) were standing beside his friends, Prompto couldn't help but pull Noctis into a hug. "We missed ya, buddy!"

Noctis patted Prompto on the back. "I'd be dead without (Y/n)."

The trio looked at the young girl and thanked her. "You found him much quicker than I thought you would," Gladio said.

"I'm a good tracker. Glad I could make it to you in time," (Y/n) said, her gaze falling onto Noctis.

"We are in your debt," Ignis states.

"Whoa, whoa. Hold on. None of you are in our debt," Aloy said as she rose from her seat and stood by her sister.

"B-But, you both saved us and (Y/n) saved Noct. We've gotta repay you somehow," Prompto stutters slightly.

"You owe us nothing. We didn't do it for a reward, we did it for your lives. Who would we be if we let innocent people be slaughtered?" (Y/n) asked. "Also, since you're not from this world, I'm very interested in your homeland. You can pay us back with an interesting story. How does that sound?"

"Gladly. We've got plenty of insane stories to tell," Noctis smiles.

"Thanks for watching over them, Uthid," (Y/n) comments to the older man standing behind the boys.

"It's the least I could do for both of you. After all, you both saved my tail from an ambush." Uthid nods before tending to others.

"Dude, he told us that story! It was amazing! I kinda wanna hear it again," the blonde beams.

As the four got reacquainted, (Y/n) and Aloy discussed important matters. "We can't stay here forever, (Y/n). Helis is after us and nobody else. If we stay, we're putting everyone in danger."

"I know, Aloy. You're right. We'll leave in the morning. For now, let's rest."

Unknown to the sisters, Noctis and Prompto heard their conversation. Before the two sisters could walk away, the boys stopped them. "You're both leavin' tomorrow?" Prompto asked, his smile falling to a melancholic frown.

"Yes, I'm sorry," (Y/n) apologizes. Seeing their dismal expressions pulled at her heartstrings.

"You can at least stay for one more day, right?" Noctis asked, his question sounding more like begging.

The sisters exchanged glances. "I can't, (Y/n). I have business in Meridian," Aloy admits.

"You... you go on ahead to Meridian. I'll stay for one more day," (Y/n) said, smiling at the two boys.

"R-Really?!" Prompto asked, making sure it wasn't a hoax. She nods, her smile growing.

Aloy knew her sister's answer before she even said it. The red head patted (Y/n) on the back. "Stay safe, Sis."

"You, too."

"Alright! You know any good fishing spots around here?" Noctis asked.

Prompto snacked his best friend on the arm in disbelief. "Noct!"

"What? I'm curious."

"We're in a new world and that's what you wanna do?" Prompto crosses his arms with a slight glare.

(Y/n) giggled at the bickering boys before patting them both on the shoulder. "We'll go fishing, but only for a short while. Your name was Prompto, right?" The blonde nods with a huge smile. "What do you want to do?"

"I kinda wanted to check out the ruins. But if it's too dangerous-"

"Don't worry about the machines. I'll rid the area tonight so we can go tomorrow."

Prompto's eyes gleamed with excitement. He jumped in air, not being able to contain himself. (Y/n) then gestured to the other two friends who were talking to Uthid. "What about the others?"

"Nah, don't worry 'bout them. They've been chatting with Uthid since we got here," Prompto said.

"Then, it'll be just the three of us tomorrow. Make sure to get plenty of rest."

"Wait, you said you were gonna clear out the ruins tonight. Aren't you gonna sleep?" Noctis inquired.

"I'll get a couple hours of sleep. Trust me, I'll be fine," (Y/n) reassures. She whistles, her mount returning to her side. "Noctis, I know you're starving. Go get something to eat. After having a meal, both of you turn in. I can tell from the dark circles under your eyes that neither of you have slept properly."

"You're goin' now?" Noctis asked.

"Yes. It'll take me about an hour to get to the ruins. The sun will have set by the time I arrive. Once I'm back, I'll take a small breather and wake you both in the morning. Understood?"

"Loud and clear!" Prompto salutes.

(Y/n) smiles and mounts the Charger. "Good. I'll see you in the morning. Have a wonderful night, you two."

They nod and watch as (Y/n) rides out of camp.

-Next Morning-

Feeling someone shaking him, Noctis groans and slowly opens his eyes. His aquamarine irises met (e/c) ones as he realized it was (Y/n). Her (h/c) locks hung over her shoulders, tickling his nose lightly. He sat up and stretched, a few joints popping with his movements. She smiled and patted him on the back. "Glad to see you got some sleep. How are you feeling?"

"Like new. I haven't slept that well in awhile," he admits. He ran his hands through the soft pelts he called a bed. "What are these?"

"Ram pelts. Aloy and I hunted the animals when we visited the Cut. We brought them back and the pelts provided warm and comfortable beds."

Noctis and (Y/n) get to their feet and gaze at each other. "You ready for some fishing?" She asked.

"Hell yeah. You wouldn't happen to have a fishing rod, would ya?"

"Made one for you last night. The rod is made of machine parts and the line is wire. Uthid even provided a sharp hook for the end of the wire."

(Y/n) handed the fishing rod over to the prince, his face gleaming with excitement and anticipation. He did notice the rod was missing the reeling mechanism. (Y/n) grinned as he took notice of the missing reel. "Don't worry about reeling them in. Once you've worn the fish out, I'll shoot it with an arrow and pull it to the surface. We'll be working in tandem today. Hope you don't mind."

Hearing that he would be fishing by her side made a huge smile appear on Noctis' face. "Not one bit. I'm excited to get this trip goin'."

"Good, because Prompto's buzzing with joy, as well. He's already waiting on a mount."

"Already? Talk about eager."

"Mm, I don't think you have room to talk, Noctis."

"Touché."

(Y/n) laughs and nudges him outside of the tent. Noctis eyed an impatient Prompto as the blonde pursed his lips. "C'mon, Noct! Hurry up!"

Gladio and Ignis stood next to the Charger the boy was sitting on. The shield glanced at (Y/n) with a slight smile. "Guess we'll see you later, (Y/n)."

"Are you positive you'll be alright?" Ignis asked the girl.

She nods and smiles reassuringly at them. "I'll take care of 'em."

"We're more worried about you than those two punks. They're a handful," Gladio snickers.

"Indeed, they are," Ignis agrees.

"Hey!" The two younger boys shout in unison.

(Y/n) laughs and nods. "I'll be perfectly fine. We'll be back before nightfall."

"Do be careful, especially you two," Ignis glances at the boys.

"Have fun, ya idiots," Gladio chuckles.

Noctis and Prompto sent a glare to the brute as they followed (Y/n) out of the camp. Mounting machines, the trio head to a nearby stream. The sun was still rising, casting a deep shade of red across the land, awing the boys as their machine followed (Y/n)'s.

The soothing sounds of flowing water created a calming atmosphere as they reached their destination. Dismounting their machines, the trio head to the edge of the stream. (Y/n) placed her hands on her hips as she gazed at the water below. "There's plenty of fish here, especially after that heavy rainfall we had a few days ago."

Noctis' excitement was bubbling as he tossed the line into the water. He watched as all the large fish swam around the hook, examining it closely. Lying in wait, Noctis stares at the underwater creatures and hopes one to be bold enough to snap at the hook. After a few minutes of waiting, a fish finally falls for the shiny object. Noctis grinned as he pulled the fishing rod back. When the fish was worn out, (Y/n) fired an arrow and killed it quickly. Catching five large salmons seemed to satisfy the prince and his fishing needs.

"Can we head to the ruins now?" Prompto begged, bouncing on his heels.

(Y/n) beams at the exuberant blonde. "Let's go."

Prompto pumped a fist into the air as he hopped on the back of the Charger. Noctis made sure to store the fish properly with help from (Y/n) before mounting the machine and sitting in front of his best friend.

Safely at the ruins, Prompto jumps off the Charger and gapes at the remaining metal skeletons of the buildings.

Noctis and (Y/n) watch as he bounds over to one of the structures. The prince glances at (Y/n) as she was scanning the area to make sure no machines had snuck into the area after clearing it the night before. "What was this place?"

"Not exactly sure. The Old Ones didn't leave any clues behind to what it previously was." She gazes at Noctis with a smile and nudges him in the side. "Tell me about your world. What's it like?"

"Not as beautiful as this. My friends and I see buildings like these every day. We live in a city called Insomnia."

"You live in one of these?" (Y/n) gestured to the tall building.

"Well, one that isn't destroyed. Instead of machines, we have what we call "daemons." They're tons of 'em."

"Interesting. Too bad I can't see your world. It sounds fascinating," she said.

"I'd rather stay here than return," Noctis admits without thinking.

(Y/n) stopped and tilted her head. "Why's that?"

Noctis didn't realize what he said until he was caught. "I-I, well... to me, this place feels more relaxing. Uh, even with killer machines runnin' around."

"I've heard about cities from a few ancient devices. They're clutters of buildings and can be suffocating."

"Exactly. That's why this place is so relaxing. It's open and the air is cleaner. I don't care that this world doesn't have the same technology we do, but I would miss my phone."

"What's a "phone"?" She ponders.

Noctis pulls out the device and shows it to her. The only thing he could access was his camera and photos. "It's kinda like your Focus. It receives calls and you can also send messages."

She took the device and examined it closely. "It's very light. How strange." (Y/n) hands the device back to Noctis. He couldn't help but laugh a little at her reaction. Continuing the conversation, they follow after Prompto as he enters one of the buildings.

"This place is so cool!" Prompto vivaciously shouts, his voice creating a faint echo. "Wish I had my camera."

"I've got my phone," Noctis said. Prompto runs over to the prince and snatches the device out of his hand. (Y/n) watched intently as the blonde snapped photo after photo. When he tried to get higher, he fell and almost dropped the phone. "Aw! I wanna get higher for another photo!"

"I can climb up to the top," (Y/n) voiced.

Prompto snapped his gaze towards her. "R-Really? Isn't it dangerous?"

"Nah, don't worry about me. I've been climbing since I was six. I'll get that photo for you, Prompto."

The boy handed the device and watched as she tucked it into the quiver on her back. (Y/n) looked around and finally found a perfect place to climb. Noctis and Prompto watched in awe as she nimbly scaled the wall. When she reached a huge gap and jumped, Prompto covered his eyes while Noctis ran to catch her. When (Y/n) successfully jumped the gap, the prince sighed in relief. The other boy peeked through his fingers and slumped his shoulders. "Whew, I thought my heart was gonna explode."

"Yeah, and we're not the ones riskin' our lives."

Keeping their eyes on (Y/n), they watch as she finally reaches the top. Pulling out Noctis' phone, she easily learns how to take a picture and snaps a few for Prompto. When she suddenly stiffened, both boys noticed and called out to her. She didn't answer them as her eyes went wide. Noctis followed her line of sight and ran out of the building to see what made her stiffen.

In the distance, Noctis spotted three Deathbringers and a group of men leading the machines. One man in front caught his attention. His eyes were looking straight at (Y/n).

He grinned and pointed towards the girl. He shouted at the top of his lungs, signaling the Deathbringers to shoot at her. Noctis ran back in the building just as (Y/n) rappels down and lands in front of Prompto. The building was shaking as the assault from the machines continued.

"You two need to get as far away as possible," (Y/n) said as she handed the phone to Prompto.

"Like hell we are!" Noctis snaps.

"Helis is after me. If he finds out you're with me, he will kill you both without a second thought."

"All the more reason for us to stay! We can't just leave you!" Noctis protests.

"Noct's right! If we leave, we'll just be handing you over to him!" Prompto bellows.

(Y/n) knew about their stubborn behavior, but she wasn't going to allow them to be dragged into her affairs. "I'm sorry. I have to do this-alone." She placed her fingers in her mouth and whistled. Noctis and Prompto looked around in confusion when they heard the sound of a machine. In the blink of an eye, a Glinthawk maneuvered through the building and grabbed the two boys in its metallic talons.

Struggling against the machine's grip, the boys tried to free themselves before they were dragged away from (Y/n). "Dammit!" Noctis curses as he pushes against the artificial talons.

"What do we do?!" Prompto shouts, the Glinthawk now flying above the tree line. (Y/n) was out of sight and the ruins were growing smaller.

"I don't know! This damn thing won't drop us!"

Seeing their struggling was futile, the two wait for the bird to drop them. As it flew closer to a familiar camp, it released them gently before landing next to them. Uthid, Gladio, and Ignis saw the younger boys and stormed over.

"Where's (Y/n)?" Uthid questioned.

Noctis gritted his teeth, not being able to look at the older man. Prompto noticed and swallowed hard. "W-We don't know. She's the one who called this machine and it brought us here."

"You don't know? You both were with her," Gladio said.

"We were, until some man named Helis ruined everything," Noctis states angrily.

"Helis..." Uthid grumbles the man's name.

Ignis raised a brow and glanced at him. "An acquaintance of yours?"

"Far from it. That bastard's been hunting Aloy and (Y/n) for months. He's the leader of the Eclipse, a group of cultists wanting to wipe out every living thing."

"Any inkling to where they would have taken her?" The royal advisor inquired.

"Only one place comes to mind. They've established an outpost just north of here, in an abandoned stronghold."

"Then we've got no time to waste!" Noctis bellows.

Uthid holds a hand out to stop the prince. "Hold on, son. Not a single one of you are equipped properly. How do you expect to raid a stronghold and save her without weapons?" Noctis balled his hands into tight fists. He knew Uthid was right.

"Then let's get our hands on some weapons," Gladio declares.

"I've made a few in my day. The four of you can choose whatever suits your style," Uthid said, guiding them to a small armory located underground. Gladio chose a heavy blade, Noctis picked a light sword, and Ignis chose daggers made from machine parts. Prompto, being a little out of his element, chose a rattler out of the entire stash.

"All geared up, I see," Uthid said. "We head to the fort in due time. In the meantime, rest. You're gonna need all your strength for this mission."

"I don't think I'll be able to sleep," Noctis admits.

Gladio sends a smirk the prince's way. "Someone's in love."

Noctis felt his cheeks heat up at the shield's accusation. "And what if I am?"

"Nothing. It's about time you grew up."

Prompto pulled out Noctis' phone and looked at the pictures (Y/n) took. "Wow, she's really good at taking pictures." The others peered over his shoulder and eyed the images. "And this was her first time using a phone."

"How the hell did you get those?" Gladio asked as he saw how high up the pictures were taken.

"I would assume (Y/n) provided assistance," Ignis said.

"It was amazing! I've never seen someone climb like that before!" Prompto swoons.

The royal retinue continued to look at the pictures until they all decided to rest. Just as Noctis had said, he couldn't fall asleep, which was strange because he loved sleeping. His mind was too busy, turning the cogs over and over again as he kept thinking about (Y/n). After an hour, he was finally able to fall into a deep slumber.

-Next Afternoon-

Assisted by Uthid, the boys reached the outskirts of the Eclipse outpost. Noctis kept pacing back and forth, waiting for Uthid to give them the signal to raid the collapsing stone fort.

"Calm down, buddy. We'll get (Y/n) back," Prompto reassures.

"Hold yourself together, Noct. We can't go blazin' in there blindly. I seriously doubt they would just kill her," Gladio said.

"I'm not so sure about that," Uthid states. The boys eyed the older man as he readied his weapon. "She's a threat to their entire cause. If she's dead, you're gonna have to accept the fact."

Noctis gritted his teeth, his hands tightening around the sword in his grasp. "She's still alive. Don't try to tell me otherwise."

Uthid grins. "That's the spirit, boy. Now, let's kill these bastards."

In silence, they infiltrated the outpost and killed any Eclipse member in their way. Prompto and Gladio went with Uthid to search the northern side of the outpost while Noctis and Ignis delved into the underground passageways in the southern part. The duo took out members left and right in silence as they pushed forward.

"Dammit..." Noctis mutters, spotting Helis a few feet away. A malicious smirk was plastered to the man's face as he walked their way with a few other members. The prince and royal advisor hid behind a few crates, watching as the sinister man sauntered by. "I grow tired of these games. She won't tell us a single detail. Kill her."

Once Helis and his men were out of sight, Noctis and Ignis emerge from their hiding spot. "Our time is diminutive. We must find (Y/n) before they reach her," Ignis said.

"She's gotta be close by. That has to be the reason why Helis was down here," Noctis responds.

"Let's make haste," Ignis said. The prince nods and they head down further. At the end of the passage, they found a room full of cells. Blood painted the floor like an eerie canvas while machine parts were scattered about. Checking the cells, they were able to find (Y/n) in only her black shorts and shirt.

Noctis pried the cell door open, running to her and examining her body. Cuts, bruises, and blood littered her once flawless skin. "(Y/n)?" Noctis gently calls out to her. Receiving no response, the prince dropped his blade and cradled her beaten body against his. Ignis kneeled next to Noctis, placing two fingers against the girl's neck. "Her pulse is weak. We must tend to her wounds."

"We've got nothing with us!" Noctis cries out.

"(Y/n) had a medical pouch," Ignis points out.

"Where is it?" Noctis asked.

"With her armor, I assume. Let's scour the area," Ignis said, getting to his feet.

Just as he turned around, Eclipse members entered the room and aimed their arrows at them. Noctis brought (Y/n) into a protective embrace, turning her body away from the line of fire. He glared at the cultists, watching as Helis stepped from behind his men. "New faces of the enemy. Such bravery entering my outpost. You two are behind the murders of my men."

Ignis raised his daggers, ready to attack at any moment. Perceiving his words, the tactician knew Helis didn't know of the others. He was only aware of him and Noctis. The older man nodded towards (Y/n), signaling his men. "Take the girl and throw these trespassers in a cell. I'll deal with them soon enough."

Helis walked away, leaving Noctis and Ignis to deal with his men. Before they could fire their arrows, Ignis closed the distance between them and killed each one swiftly. "Noct, get (Y/n). We need to escape."

"What about her wounds?" Noctis asked.

"Her armor isn't nearby. Our best option is to flee."

Noctis nods, gathering the unconscious girl in his arms. Exiting the underground prison, Ignis made sure to keep the enemy away from Noctis and (Y/n). They took cover behind a half collapsed wall, searching for the others. Noctis placed (Y/n) down gently, his eyes widening when he heard her labored breathing. "Ignis!"

The strategist kneeled beside the girl, watching her chest rise and fall rapidly. "We don't have much time."

They heard footsteps approaching, Ignis returning to his offensive position. When he was ready to strike, his blow was parried skillfully. Seeing who it was, Ignis stepped back and withdrew his weapons.

"Hello to you, too, Iggy," Gladio snickers.

Prompto and Uthid were close behind, the blonde carrying a few things. He fell to his knees next to his best friend, holding a small pouch closely. "What happened to her?" Prompto asked.

"Torture. It's what Helis does best," Uthid said, taking the pouch from Prompto and opening it. He grabbed a few medicinal herbs. He crushed them in his hands, using the substance to cover (Y/n)'s open wounds. Uthid pulled a petal from one of the flowers, growling when he couldn't get it past her lips. "She needs to consume the petal. It'll help tremendously."

Noctis stared at the brilliant fuchsia petal, an idea popping into his head. He took the petal from Uthid and placed it in his own mouth. Prompto watched intently as Noctis leaned down and placed his lips against (Y/n)'s. "N-Noct, what're you doing?!"

Ignoring the blonde, the prince pushed the petal past (Y/n)'s lips with his tongue. When he felt her swallow, Noctis pulled away and stared at her sealed eyes. After a few minutes, her breathing returned to normal. The raven haired boy sighed in relief at the sight.

"Now, let's find a way out of here before Helis finds us," Uthid said.

"Yeah, let's go," Noctis nods, scooping (Y/n) into his arms once again. The group grabbed the attention of a few men but were able to escape the outpost without grabbing Helis'.

Without stopping, they return to the camp and were able to treat (Y/n) properly. A few days passed before she was able to open her eyes. When she did, the first person she saw was Noctis. With a smile, she sat up slowly and met his gaze. "You look tired."

Noctis smiles back through his weariness. "You've no idea."

"So... you were the one who kissed me," she giggles.

Noctis' eyes widened as his cheeks ignited with a deep red. "H-How did you know about the kiss?"

"I was awake when you and Ignis found me, but I was too weak to even speak or move. Even though I was barely conscious, I could still feel and hear."

"You heard Prompto shouting, didn't you?"

(Y/n) nods with a grin. "If he didn't, I wouldn't have been able to tell who it was." Her grin turned into a genuine smile. "I would be dead without you."

"I'm glad we weren't too late." Noctis felt brazen and covered her hand with his.

(Y/n) placed her other hand on top of his. "Thank you, Noctis."

Silence fell over them like a curtain, but it was relaxing. When (Y/n) went to stand, Noctis gently pushed her back down on the ram felts. "Uthid doesn't want you walking. He's put you on bedrest for the next few days."

"How 'bout another kiss? That'll heal me in no time," she teases with a small giggle. Noticing his flustered expression, she directed her gaze towards the entrance of the tent. "I'm just teasing y-"

Briskly but heedfully, Noctis closes the distance between them and cupped her cheeks, forcing her to look at him. In the next second, he slammed his lips against hers in a deep and passionate kiss. If (Y/n) wasn't already sitting, she would've fallen to her knees from the intensity of the kiss. Noctis loomed over her body as he shifted slightly to avoid her wounds. (Y/n)'s hands were gliding through his raven locks as Noctis deepened the kiss further.

In desperate need for air, the two broke the kiss in a panting mess. Weak from the intoxication, (Y/n)'s body lost all movement as she laid against the soft white felts. Noctis noticed her state, grinned, and leaned his forehead against hers. "I don't ever wanna leave."

(Y/n) smiles brightly, placing her hands on his cheeks and stroking them softly. "If you have to leave, take me with you."

"What about your sister?"

"She would understand. We may be worlds apart, but we'll never truly be separated."

"I'd gladly take you with me. You'll just have to get used to Eos. It's nothing like the Sundom or the Sacred Land."

"I'm skilled in archery, close combat, and machine building. Will that suffice?"

Noctis smiles from ear to ear, kissing her once again. "Definitely."
