(Soul Eater) The Dragon Witch 1
Kayda sat comfortably on the stone-made throne. With her legs crossed, she gazed into the lavender crystal orb in the palm of her hand. She sighed, seeing dozens of people screaming and scattering within the ball. The orb was a device Kayda used to see through the eyes of her dragon, Fafnir.
"Forget the humans," she commanded him, "bring me food. I'm starving here."
She watched his claws snatch up a snack stall set up outside of a store. She cut off the connection, knowing Fafnir would be on his way back. She stood from her seat and left the crypt of a home she'd created. Being confined within a graveyard, it was the best she could do. She growled, seeing the barely noticeable bubble surrounding the entire graveyard.
"Damn those witches. They fear my power so much that they turn on me. If I ever get outta here, they're all dead."
It didn't take long for her pet to return. Kayda had to make do with simple snack foods Fafnir could get his claws on. It had been that way for months. After gorging herself on chips and crackers, she began thinking.
"If only there was someone willing to help me..." After a moment, someone came to mind. The girl grinned and pet the dragon's head. "Fafnir, I have another job for you."

A large shadow drifted over Death City. People were scattering in fear while the meisters and weapons were gathering at the DWMA, preparing to fight if need be. Even Lord Death was outside with his students, watching the creature approaching.
"What the hell?!" Spirit cried out in shock. "Is that a dragon?!"
People scattered out of the way as the massive reptile prepared to land. His wings created heavy gusts of wind that made many stumble back. Fafnir landed in front of Lord Death. Stein stood by the reaper, a cigarette in his mouth as he eyed the beast.
"What a perfect specimen to dissect," he muttered.
Fafnir looked around at the meisters surrounding him, all with threatening gazes. The beast's eyes suddenly glowed a vibrant green instead of the purple it previously was. "Stop!" a feminine voice suddenly yelled.
Everyone halted, surprised by the sudden outburst. Death the Kid, who stood next to his father, asked, "Did that thing just talk?"
"Please, I need you all to listen!" the voice pleaded. "We mean you no harm!"
Lord Death hummed in thought, stepping forward. "What do you mean by 'we'? Who are you?"
The dragon fixed his gaze on the masked character. "Lord Death, I presume?" He nodded in response. "The beast you see before you is Fafnir, my pet. And my name is Kayda Dragon."
"The dragon witch?" Lord Death questioned.
"That's me," she replied. "I have a favor to ask of you. I'm in a bit of a bind and could use some assistance."
"How do I know I can trust you?" he asked.
"Because we share a common enemy. You hunt witches and kishin, correct? Well I have no love for their kind either. The witches betrayed me. Because of them, I'm trapped. I ask that you help free me."
"I suppose I could send a few meisters," Lord Death said. "But what's in it for us?"
"I'll join you in your fight. Free me, and I will protect Death City and hunt down the witches or kishin that threaten it. Believe me when I say that I have nothing against you or the humans. All I'm asking is that you help me."
Lord Death had a brief discussion with Stein and Spirit before coming to a conclusion. "I will send my son and a few other meisters to aid you, Kayda. But if any of them return to me injured, I will send a death scythe to kill you. Are we clear?"
"Yes," she answered. "You can take your time to prepare. Fafnir will lead the way once you're ready."
The dragon's eyes faded back to purple, signaling that Kayda was no longer speaking through him. Lord Death chose Maka and Blackstar to go with Kid. Once the group was ready, the weapons took their weapon form so that they could be easily carried. Kid summoned his skateboard while Maka and Blackstar had to ride on Fafnir's back. They were soon soaring through the sky.
"So this witch is supposed to be like a dragon?" Soul questioned from his scythe form. "Wonder if she looks like one."
Patty giggled. "If she has a tail and wings, I bet she's adorable!"
"No way, Patty!" Liz argued. "Dragons are super scary! This which is probably gonna be creepy!"
"I wonder why Lord Death so easily accepted to help her," Maka thought aloud. "What if she's just tricking us?"
"Maka could be onto something," Tsubaki pointed out. "What if this is a trap?"
Kid shook his head. "Not likely. We've never had a problem with the dragon witch before. And she said that the other witches betrayed her. She has no reason to attack us. Plus, she's said to be very powerful, so she'd make a valuable ally."
Blackstar huffed. "No way she's stronger than me! I'm practically a god!"
Maka rolled her eyes at him. "It would be better to have her on our side, then."
It took all day to reach their destination. But finally, they landed outside of a large graveyard. With the sun having sunk beyond the horizon, it was hard for them to see anything. But they could see the huge magic barrier in front of them. It was a massive bubble that enveloped the entire graveyard. Fafnir nonchalantly stepped through the barrier, glancing back at the group. The weapons took their human forms and followed their meisters in.
Liz shivered and hugged her sister's arm. "I hate graveyards. There's always the possibility they could be haunted."
"I'm sure that's not the case here, Liz," Tsubaki chimed in. "With a witch living here, I doubt there'd be any ghosts or anything."
The group followed Fafnir through the graveyard to a large crypt. The dragon squeezed inside, his form fading into the darkness. The group hesitantly stepped inside, squinting to try and see.
"Um, hello?" Maka called.
A low chuckle reverberated from the far end of the room. "Fafnir, give us some light."
The beast leaned his head over, spewing fiery breath and igniting a row of torches along one side of the wall. He did the same on the opposite side. The light of the numerous torches illuminated the room. Now the group could see the lone girl seated at the far end of the room, her pet curled behind her chair. Her green eyes glinted in the fire light.
"Welcome to my home," she said with a grin.
