"Noct!"

Noctis groggily sat up. Frantic knocks on the caravan door and the calls of his friends could be heard. The prince slowly got out of bed and went to the door,unlocking and opening it, meeting the faces of his friends.

"Noct, you okay, buddy?" Prompto asked.

Noctis tiredly rubbed his eyes. "Yeah, I'm fine. Guess I'd better hurry up and go find Lunae."

"Lunae?" Gladiolus questioned with a raised eyebrow.

"Er, the dragon," he explained. "I left her near a haven. Figured she'd cause a panic if I brought her here."

"Nice work, Noct," Ignis said with approval. "We grew worried when you stowed away on that ship."

Noctis quickly got himself ready to leave and grabbed a snack while his friends talked with him. "So, tell us about the dragon!" Prompto demanded, his excitement evident.

"Well, she can talk," the prince replied. "She told me her name and that she does know the other dragon."

"Fascinating," his advisor stated. "I had no idea their intellect was so advanced that they could learn human speech."

"That sounds so awesome!" Prompto exclaimed. "I wanna meet this dragon, like, now!"

Noctis sighed at his best friend. "Calm down, we're going. She still needs a potion to heal her wounds."

"Best be careful though," Ignis advised. "I hear there's still a problem with a behemoth around these parts."

"Deadeye," Gladio added. "The beast that's been spooking everyone."

"Let's hurry then," Noctis said.

The group left the Post. Noctis led the way, heading in the general direction he had left Lunae. It wasn't long when they saw the shaking of the trees not far from them. He automatically assumed it was his dragon friend.

"Lunae!" he called out.

Loud footsteps and growls could be heard approaching. Noctis realized that he had been mistaken. A behemoth emerged from the trees. It had a missing horn and was blind in one eye. They had just found Deadeye. The monster let out a roar.

"That's not a dragon!" Prompto yelled in a panic.

The group summoned their weapons, ready to fight despite being unprepared for such a battle. Noctis then caught sight of a large, black blur darting toward the behemoth. In the next instant, Lunae leapt out and onto the beast's back, biting into the back of its neck. The startled behemoth roared in pain and twisted around, trying to reach its attacker. Lunae's claws dug into Deadeye's flesh, holding on tight. But the behemoth rolled onto its back, making the dragon let go as she was crushed under it. As soon as Deadeye was back on its feet, so was Lunae. She stood defensively in front of the four men, her size roughly the same as the behemoths.

"Lunae!" Noctis shouted.

Lunae glanced back at him, but stood her ground. The two creatures growled and snarled at each other. Lunae flared her wings and stamped her feet threateningly. But Deadeye wasn't intimidated. The four guys were left watching, waiting to see how the fight unfolded. The behemoth lunged at the dragon, swiping and snapping at her. Lunae swiftly moved to the side and circled around the behemoth, staying on its right where it couldn't see her.

"Astounding," Ignis commented. "She's exploiting its blind spot."

"That's boss," Gladio added. "Nice to see something standing up to the 'King of Beasts'."

Lunae tackled Deadeye from the side, digging her fangs and claws into its flesh. The behemoth roared in pain and twisted around, reaching for its opponent. Deadeye managed to scratch into Lunae's side and pull her off. The dragon winced, her head darting to her side. Her injuries were slowing her down and Deadeye only added to it. In that moment, the beast turned and bit into her neck. Lunae struggled and scratched at the behemoth's face, trying to get it to let go. But Deadeye's jaws stayed locked in place.

Noctis knew he had to help her. He warped up to the beast's face and stabbed the top of its snout. The monster reeled back, knocking the prince off while freeing Lunae. The dragon took the opportunity to clamp her jaws around Deadeye's throat and push it to the ground. She placed her claws against the behemoth's head. When the beast tried swiping at her, she quickly moved behind its head, out of its reach while keeping her jaws locked in place around its throat.

After a bit of struggling, the behemoth's body finally went limp. Lunae released her grip on the creature. She flared her wings and let out a triumphant roar. She then set her blue-eyed gaze on the prince and his friends. Panting, she slowly approached them. All but Noctis backed away a bit, wary of the dragon. Lunae stopped in front of the prince, laying down and lowering her head to him. He immediately placed his hands against her snout.

"Lunae, why would you put yourself in danger like that? We could've taken care of the behemoth."

"You... called..." she replied.

He smiled and shook his head. "That I did. Thank you." He glanced back at his companions and gestured for them to come closer. "Guys, it's okay. This is Lunae." He looked up at the dragon. "These are my friends, Gladiolus, Ignis, and Prompto."

The three carefully moved closer. When they realized the dragon was watching them with a soft, friendly gaze, they gathered around her. Noctis moved down to her neck, lightly tracing his hand around the large bite marks. Lunae flinched and hissed in pain.

"That behemoth really did a number on you," the prince said. "Good thing I got a few potions."

He took one of the curatives from his pocket and held it out to her. Lunae gently took it from his hand and crushed it in her jaws. A green, sparkly glow enveloped her injuries, and slowly, they started to heal. Lunae didn't get up though, she remained in a laying position, letting the healing effects kick in.

"Wow, to see a real-life dragon is so cool!" Prompto cried. "I've gotta get some pics!"

He began snapping away with his camera. Lunae watched him with amusement. She had never witnessed the behavior of humans before. It was something new to her, but she quite enjoyed it. The group talked a bit about what they should do next. Their main objective was to reunite Lunae and Volcanus. But that was easier said than done.
