(FFXV) Music Festival 2

The song in this chapter is by Galantis and is called 'Hunter'. Although I did change a word in it to make it fit into the FFXV world.

Serena sat in a chair, reading over her lyric sheet. Leon stood by, tuning the music he was playing on his mixer. Time between performances was usually spent that way - working on new songs. Meanwhile, Lex was busy preparing supper. Their hotel room was filled with musical beats and tunes. A sudden knock on the door interrupted them. Serena stood and went over, opening it up to see four guys and a girl.

She smiled, looking over each of them. "Hi. May I help you?"

Iris squealed in delight, startling the girl. "My name's Iris! I looove your music!"

Prompto squeezed over beside the brunette, a goofy grin on his face. "I'm Prompto! I've heard you on the radio! Your voice is beautiful!"

Serena giggled. "Thank you, but I owe part of my success to my bros."

Gladio pulled the two out of the pop star's face. "Sorry about them. I'm Gladiolus, that's Ignis, and that's Noctis."

Serena gasped and swiftly bowed her head to Noctis. "Your Highness, I had no idea I'd be meeting the crown prince of Lucis."

Noctis was a bit surprised. "You recognize me?"

Serena laughed. "Just because this is our first time in Lucis doesn't mean we're idiots. We've done our homework. Please, come on in."

The group stepped inside, letting Serena close the door. Leon grinned, walking away from his music mixer. "Sup," he greeted. "Never expected to perform for Prince Noctis."

"Lex, get in here!" Serena called. "We've got company!"

After a moment, the other white-haired man exited the kitchen area. "I've only got five minutes to spare or else the food will burn."

"Why are you even cooking?" the girl asked. "We can order room service, y'know."

"But if we did that, Leon would order nothing but junk food."

Serena hummed. "True."

"Ouch, that's harsh," Leon said. "You make me sound like a garbage disposal."

"Anyway," Serena interrupted, turning her attention back to the guests, "what brings you all here?"

"Iris and Prompto just wanted to meet you in person," Noctis explained.

"Ah. Well, since you're here, wanna here one of our newest songs? It'll be good for us to have an audience to practice for."

"Yes!" Iris and Prompto responded in unison.

The group sat themselves in the chairs and on the beds. Lex returned to the kitchen to continue making supper. Leon started up his music mixer while Serena glanced over the lyrics one more time. Without speakers hooked up, the music wouldn't be as loud as a big outdoor performance.

"Now this song isn't complete," Serena explained. "We've only got a portion of it figured out. But I hope you like what we've got so far."

She signalled to Leon, who got the music going.

"I am the hunter, I am the great unknown
Only my love can conquer
I am the, I am the hunter
I am the hunter, into the wild, we go
Give up your heart, surrender
'Cause I am the, I am the hunter

"We've been on this road
To a place that, one day, we'll know
Adventure to the other side
Searching high and low for the treasure deep in your soul
The fortune teller's always right

"Got them red eyes in the night
Like a coeurl, outta sight
Gonna sing my battle cry
'Cause I am the, I am the, I am the

"I am the hunter, I am the great unknown
Only my love can conquer
I am the, I am the hunter
I am the hunter, into the wild, we go
Give up your heart, surrender
'Cause I am the, I am the hunter"

The group clapped and Serena took a bow. "That was amazing!" Iris exclaimed with excitement.

"So freakin' awesome!" Prompto cheered.

"Marvelous," Ignis added. "Your voice is very beautiful."

"Thank you," Serena replied. "So, I'm assuming that means you liked the song?"

"Definitely," Noctis answered. "You guys are really good."

Leon shrugged nonchalantly. "It's what we do."

"It always makes me happy to see the joy on people's faces when they hear our music," the girl admitted. "It drives us to keep doing what we're doing."

"How so?" Gladio questioned.

Serena glanced at her brother, hesitant to answer. "This world is falling into decay," Lex answered, now entering the room with plates of food. "To spread joy far and wide is a huge accomplishment."

Serena sighed, taking her plate from him and sitting down. "Can you five promise that what we talk about won't leave this room?" They swiftly nodded. "The reason we travel and perform is to spread happiness. I want my voice to be heard all over Eos in hopes that it'll put a smile on the faces of those who've lost hope. I want to inspire others to stand together against the darkness. Because..." She hung her head down. "We know what it's like to lose hope."

She fell silent, and Lex decided to pick up where she left off again, "The three of us grew up as orphans in Niflheim."

"Serena isn't actually related to us by blood," Leon explained. "But when you're struggling on the streets, working together with others like you can be the only way to survive."

"Niflheim isn't a very pleasant place." Serena took over the story again. "The three of us had a dream to change that. We strove to become a big success, putting our talents to use in order to spread a little joy and light to the world around us."

"I had no idea," Iris sadly muttered.

"That explains a few things," Noctis stated. "Don't worry, we won't tell anyone about this."

"Can we consider you... friends?" Prompto asked.

Serena smiled and nodded. "You bet. Forming friendships and banding together will help build a brighter future, especially with Prince Noctis on our side."

Ignis suddenly stood. "We should order our own supper for the night."

"Kay," Leon answered, watching them all stand and head for the door.

"Have a good night," Serena said to them. "Hope you're looking forward to our next performance tomorrow."

The group left the stars alone, giving them the remainder of the night to prepare. Serena and the twins were definitely glad to have made such fast friends. And they simply thought their guests were overly ecstatic fans at first. But to know the prince of Lucis approved of their efforts was a relief, especially since they weren't as well-recieved in the western continent. It seemed like their time in Lucis would be far less troublesome.
