May POV

After Anne got home from her doctors appointment she said we could come over.

Finn was excited that he could give his card to his Grandma. I love how caring and loving he is. He's so amazing.

She hasn't told us about her appointment. Harry has a feeling that it isn't good news.

We ring the doorbell and Des answers. He smiles weakly making my chest ache.

"Hi Grandpa." Finn says.

"Hello buddy." Des goes on his knees so he could hug his grandson.

"Is Mom upstairs?" Harry asks as we stand in the hallway of their house.

"Yeah. She's relaxing." We look to Finn who's holding his card. A smile is on his lips. His teeth aren't showing, he's just grinning and looking around.

"Finn, why don't you go meet Grandma upstairs? Yeah?"

"Okay." He says. He goes to the stair case and walks up by using his hands to help him. I smile softly.

"What did the Doctors say?" Harry asks once Finn is upstairs.

"The cancer did spread. It went to her lungs." I hold Harry's hand.

"How did they find that out so quickly?" He asks.

"They did, I believe some MRI's and made the order a uh," Des pauses. "Rushed one. Within an hour they told us."

"Does that mean she'll have less time?" He asks.

"6 months."

Oh fuck.

"Really?" Harry asks.

"Yep." Des says. You can see he looks welled up.

I feel bad for Des. He's going to lose his wife. I feel bad for Harry and Gemma. They're going to lose their Mom. I feel bad for Finn and Sydney. They're going to lose their Grandma.

This family doesn't deserve the pain.

"I'm going to check up on Finn and Anne." I say to Des and Harry. They both nod and I excuse myself.

I walk into Anne's room and see Finn and Anne on her bed. The card is in her hand and she's smiling.

She looks like she's in pain, which I don't like.

I sit besides Finn who is holding his grandmas hand. "Thank you for the card honey."

"Y-you're welcome. Do you like the c-color?"

"Yes. Purple is my favourite color." Finn turns around and looks at me. I smile and pinch his cheek. He giggles.

"We should leave soon. Grandma needs some rest." I tell my son.

"No," Anne says. "I want him to stay. I'll manage." My head tilts at her.

"Can I stay?" Finn asks while looking at me.

I look to Anne who nods. He has a bedroom here that has clothes. So I don't have to worry about that.

"Okay." I say. He smiles. His dimples go on his cheeks. "You shall spend the night here. Can you give Grandma and I a second?" I ask him.

He nods. Finn kisses my cheek before slipping off her bed and walking out of the room.

"Are you sure you want him to stay over tonight? I'd imagine you're in some pain."

"I only have so much time left to have these days with him." Anne's voice travels off. I wipe the corners of my eyes. "Don't start crying on me. I'll start." I chuckle as well as her.

We hear footsteps walk into her room. I look and see Harry. He sits down beside me. "How are you?"

"As well as I can be." He nods.

"Finn is staying here for the night. He wants too." I tell Harry.

"Are you sure Mom?" Harry asks.

"Yes, I'm very sure." She says. Anne smiles.

"I'm going to give you guys some time alone. I'll text you later." I say to Anne. She nods with a small smile. I hug her before leaving her room. I meet Finn in his room here and begin talking to him.

Harry POV

"Dad told me that uh, you have 6 months left instead of over a year."

"Yep." My Mom says. My eyes start welling up. "Harry-"

"How are you telling me you're okay with this?" I ask. "I-I know this is what you want but aren't you scared?"

Her hand touches mine. I feel my tears roll down my cheeks. I bite my quivering lip.

"The only thing scary is leaving everyone I love behind." Her brown eyes meet mine. "You're going to be just fine without me Harry. You'll have May and your family. Your Dad and sister will still be here. And Sadie."

"But you won't." I say. "Who am I supposed to call everyday?" My Mom has tears welling up in her eyes. "No one is going to randomly say they're proud of me at odd times like you do. Who's going to have pie contests with me?"

"I'm bound to go at some point Harry."

"Not now though. I still want my Mom." Her hand holds onto mine tightly.

"I love you Harry. That won't change no matter where I'm at." My eyes fall to her hands. They're a little colder than normal.

"I don't want you to feel alone." I say.

"I'm not. I have my wonderful children, husband, grandchildren, and in-laws. I'm far from lonely sweetie." I look up at her. She smiles weakly.

"I love you Mom."

"I love you more honey. Now stop the tears." I chuckle and I wipe my eyes. "Have fun with you're alone time with May."

"Thanks." I chuckle. I hug and kiss her cheek before letting her and Finn have their bonding time.

I take a deep breath and walk downstairs where I hear chatter.
