Chapter 4

The day of the photoshoot arrived with a gentle breeze and a bright, clear sky. Theo had picked a quiet outdoor spot—a park with tall trees, soft grass, and a peaceful pond. It was the perfect place for a calm and natural photoshoot. Flora showed up, feeling a little nervous but curious about how it would go.

Theo greeted her with a warm smile. "Hey, Flora. I'm glad you could make it. How are you feeling?"

Flora smiled back, though she still felt a bit anxious. "A little nervous, but I’m excited to see how this goes."

Theo nodded. "That’s totally normal. We’ll take it slow and keep things casual. Just be yourself, and we’ll get some good shots."

As Theo got his camera ready, Flora walked around the park, taking in the peaceful atmosphere. The sound of the wind in the trees and the distant calls of birds helped calm her nerves. Theo’s relaxed attitude made her feel more comfortable.

"Shall we start with some simple shots?" Theo pointed to a spot under a big oak tree. "It’s shaded nicely, and the light is perfect."

Flora nodded and sat on the grass, looking at the way the light filtered through the leaves. Theo stood a few feet away, camera in hand.

As he began taking pictures, Theo talked to her in a calm voice. "You know, one of the things I love about photography is how it shows beauty we don’t always see. We all have these 'filters'—not the social media kind, but the ones we put on ourselves. They hide how we really are."

Flora looked at him, interested. "What do you mean by 'filters'?"

Theo smiled, excited to explain. "We all tend to see ourselves through self-doubt or criticism. These filters stop us from seeing the real, beautiful version of ourselves. My goal is to help people let go of those filters, even for just a moment."

Flora thought about that, feeling like it made sense to her. "That’s a powerful idea. I guess I’ve always seen myself through those filters. It’s easier to believe the negative things."

Theo nodded as he kept taking pictures. "It’s true. We’re often our own worst critics. But sometimes, a fresh perspective can help us see ourselves differently. I hope this shoot helps with that."

Flora shifted on the grass, finding a more comfortable spot. "I never thought about it that way. It’s freeing to think there might be another way to see myself."

Theo smiled again. "Exactly. The photos aren’t just about capturing how you look—they’re about capturing moments where you feel like your true self."

As the photoshoot went on, Flora started to relax. Theo’s easygoing nature made her feel more at ease, and he took pictures of her laughing, looking out at the pond, and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. With each shot, Flora felt herself letting go of the doubts she usually carried.

When they finished, Theo walked over to Flora, smiling. "Thanks for being so open. I can’t wait to show you the photos."

Flora smiled back, feeling proud of herself. "Thank you, Theo. I was nervous at first, but this turned out to be really nice."

Theo nodded, pleased. "I’m glad. It was great working with you."

As they packed up, Flora felt a new sense of hope. The photoshoot had been a chance to see herself differently, and she couldn’t wait to see the results.
