7. Driven Crazy

Aspen held Seokjin's hand as they left the theater. Jungkook had parked the car up against the curb out front. Aspen began to walk towards the car while Jimin paused at the doors for a moment to make sure they were locked behind them, pocketing the key afterwards.

The world outside the theater was more colorful than the inside of the theater had been. Seokjin was experiencing an overload as he turned his head every which way to try to digest it all. While he looked about, Aspen reached out a hand to open the door to the backseat.

"I see you got him out of the closet," said Jungkook as he swiveled in the driver's seat to look at Aspen as she helped Seokjin inside, sliding in after him and shutting the door.

"Stop being such a jerk," said Aspen as she moved to buckle Seokjin up.

"I'm being a tease," Jungkook said with a winning smile, "And I know you love it."

Aspen rolled her eyes as Jimin got into the passenger seat, buckling up before turning to look in the backseat.

"How's he doing?" asked Jimin.

"Fine at the moment. I think," said Aspen as she saw Seokjin moving to scribble something down.

There was no way he could hear them because of the ear plugs, so she was wondering what he was writing. She didn't have to wonder for long though as he turned the notebook to let her look at what was written there.

- What color are my lips?

That had not been the question that she had been expecting; her face flushing as she looked away from him as she took the notebook he held out to her to write her response.

"Seokjin...what kind of name is that?" muttered Jungkook as he turned back around to face forward.

Jimin leaned over to slap the back of Jungkook's head.

"WILL EVERYONE STOP SLAPPING MY HEAD?!"

"Maybe we would stop if you'd realize it was actually there and use it," said Jimin.

Aspen smirked at Jimin's response to Jungkook as she looked over her answer to Seokjin. She felt that her answer was lame, but it had been an odd question to start with. She gave the notebook back to the expecting Seokjin beside her.

A - They are a shade of pink.

- So my lips are what pink looks like?

A - Sort of. There are different shades.

- Like there are different shades of gray

Seokjin couldn't help but to think back on his oatmeal that he used to eat when he thought of the word gray. That gray had been different than the sky when he went outside. He knew what shades were.

A - What colors do you know?

- The color of my suit is one.

A - That would be black.

- Also the color of my skin, though it is slightly different now.

A - Then white.

- And the color of the car seats.

A - That would be gray.

- That's it.

A - That's sad.

Seokjin was about to write a response when he was jerked forward as Jungkook shifted the car into drive.

"Sorry!" said Jungkook as he began muttering under his breath.

Seokjin - thanks to the buckle he was wearing - didn't bump his head into the seat in front of him. However Aspen wasn't so lucky. She had been preoccupied and had forgotten to buckle herself up, bumping her head on the back of the seat in front of her rather hard. Seokjin put the notebook aside as he leaned over to gently put his hands on her shoulders. She was currently rubbing a hand across her forehead; her face scrunched up a bit in pain.

"Jeon Jungkook, you've just added another reason onto my list as to why I need to kick your hide when we get home."

"It's not like I did it on purpose!" said Jungkook as he navigated the car into the street to start driving off. "This car is a heap of junk that riots on a daily basis."

Seokjin reached out a hand towards Aspen; his fingers gently brushing across her forehead urging Aspen's hand to fall back onto her lap. His eyes narrowed in on her as he looked her over, noticing there was some burst of color that was stretching across her forehead now. He gently touched his tips to it, watching as she winced a bit. When he saw the pain, he immediately stopped, withdrawing his hand completely. He took up the notebook again.

- Are you alright? Why is your forehead a different color now?

Aspen forgot the pain on her forehead for a moment as a small smile graced her lips while she wrote her reply.

A -  I will be fine. Can't say the same for Jungkook.

- Is that Megaphone man?

Aspen couldn't help but to chuckle. A small grin crept onto Seokjin's lips when he saw that he had made her laugh. Half of him wanted to take out his ear plugs to see what that noise sounded like.

- Thank you for helping me.
I hope I won't be a burden.

A - You won't be.
I'll help you.
How do I do that though?

- Teach me.
Teach me colors.
Teach me about sounds.
I don't want to be ear plug man.
Or mute man.
Or scared man.

Aspen reached over to put her hand over Seokjin's to keep him from writing anymore negative names for himself. She used her writing hand to take the pen out of his hand to write a response.

A - I will help you however I can. I promise.

Seokjin didn't bother to write a reply then. Instead he moved to hold her hand again, giving it a small squeeze in thanks. Jungkook caught sight of this as he looked in the rear view mirror once before turning his focus back on driving

"So we're taking him to the hospital, right?" asked Jungkook.

Aspen looked away from Seokjin to address Jungkook who had his eyes focused on the road.

"No. We're going to take him back home with us to the apartment."

"That should have been sarcastic, but it didn't sound sarcastic," said Jungkook. "Please tell me you're joking."

"Aspen, are you sure about that?" piped up Jimin.

"Seokjin said he didn't need to see a doctor."

"Oh? So we listen to Mr. Vampire back there but not rational thinking?" asked Jungkook. "For all you know, he could be a murderer waiting to off us all."

"I thought we made a pact together to stop watching crime docuseries at night," said Aspen. "Sounds like you broke that pact."

"This isn't about crime docu- you know what. This is up for a vote. There are three of us living in that apartment, so it can't just be you that decides that," said Jungkook. "I know we treat you like a queen sometimes because you're the woman of the house, but our apartment isn't run by a monarchy. It's a democracy."

"Wish you'd get more passionate about something like cooking or cleaning at the apartment..." muttered Jimin under his breath.

"Fine, but Seokjin gets a vote too."

"Then it could end in a tie, doofus."

"Not unless Jimin votes with us."

"Jimin is not about to vote with you," said Jungkook.

"Jimin can speak for himself here," said Jimin piping in. "Hi. Remember me over here in the passenger seat?"

Jungkook rolled his eyes as he gripped the steering wheel tighter.

"Seokjin does not get a vote," said Jungkook. "We're not having a tie."

"Fine," said Aspen as she felt Seokjin squeeze her hand tighter. Though he couldn't hear anything, he could tell whatever was going on was intense.

"Raise your hand if you vote that Seokjin needs to go to the hospital and be left there."

Jungkook shot his hand up. Aspen didn't nor did Jimin.

"You traitor," said Jungkook as he put his hand down to Aspen's laughter in the backseat. "What did Aspen bribe you with?"

"She didn't bribe me with anything," said Jimin.

"She must have because it's either that or you're a few fries short of a happy meal."

"I don't think he'll hurt us..." started Jimin.

"Says who?!" asked Jungkook, slamming particularly hard on the brakes as he came to stop at a red light.

Aspen - who still hadn't buckled in - would have gone for round two with the seat if it hadn't been for Seokjin slipping an arm about her to work against gravity and pull her back into the seat beside him. She looked over at Seokjin as she resettled in the seat, their eyes locking for a second. She soon quickly turned away, fighting a blush. Jimin and Jungkook were both turned to see that save as Jimin jerked a thumb at Seokjin.

"See? Case and point. She's safer around him than she is around you and your driving."

"I'm about ready to make you walk," said Jungkook through gritted teeth before sighing. "Fine. Fine. He can stay at the apartment, but don't blame me when he turns out to be a psychopath."

Aspen looked to see Seokjin writing something down, slipping it towards her until she was bursting out laughing.

"What's so funny?" asked Jungkook as he started to drive again when the light turned green.

"Seokjin says the only one who is going to kill people is you with your driving, or you with the megaphone."

"I like him," said Jimin with a smile, laughing. "He thinks the same as me."

Jungkook gripped the wheel tighter as he continued to drive. This was certainly going to be an interesting new roommate.
