Millie's pov

Like I hoped for, the week went by quick. It was already Friday, and over the past week, I've been talking to Romeo a lot. I think he likes me, but I don't know about my feelings for him. I've been thinking a lot lately, about a lot of things.

"Millie??" Finn said, trying to get my attention. I look over to him and I notice the bell rang. We walked out of spanish to lunch and sat down with the group. I'm so happy it's Friday, I just want to sleep forever, I'm so tired. I've gotten closer with Finn since he's joined the group, which is good I guess. After a few minutes of lunch, I look behind me and Romeo is behind me. For a junior, he has a lot of muscle, and he's nice, but I heard he can lose control sometimes. I don't know.

"Hey, can I talk to you for a second in the hallway??" He said nicely. I nodded and took my bag with me because it was already around my shoulders. I walk into the hallway and we go by the lockers.

"So, I've been thinking lately, and we've become friends. Right?" He asked, looking me in my eyes.

"Yeah, you can say that." I smile, nodding my head.

"Well, I like you. I like you like you, and I'm hoping that we can be more than friends, if you would want to be my girlfriend?" He asked, hopeful.

I also heard he was one of the biggest players in the school. He's cute, I just don't want to get involved with that.

"Um, I'm sorry Romeo, but I don't like you like that, I like you as a friend." I said, and I look down to his hands and they turn into fists.

"Why?? Did someone say something about me?" He asked, getting mad.

"Well, you are one of the biggest players in the school, and I just don't like you that way." Before I can react to what he did, I felt a huge pain by my right eye. I stumbled onto the lockers, and he ran away, and my vision was getting blurry in my right eye. I was trying to keep my balance by pressing my hands against the lockers, but I couldn't. I was about to fall before someone caught me. Finn caught me. He stood me up properly, my back against the lockers, and he looked at me with a worried expression on his face. Now I knew what Romeo did. He punched me right in the face. It hurts. It hurts like hell. I start to cry, and I bury my head in Finns chest, and he hugs me. He gets out of the hug and we get into his car and he drives to his house, and we get inside and nobody's home. I sit at the kitchen table and he gets an ice pack for me. He sits in the chair next to me and checks my eye. He cups his hand around my right side of my face and traces his thumb lightly over the part where I got punched. He drops his hand and gives me the ice pack. I put my elbow down on the table and put the ice pack up to my eye.

I lay down on Finns bed with my back against the bed, and he lays on it with his stomach on the bed.

"So what happened?? You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." He said, sounding worried.

"Well, Romeo took me out in the hallway and he told me that he liked me and he asked me out, and I said no because he's a known player in the school and I don't like him that way, and I guess he just got mad and punched me. It really hurt and it still hurts." I said, trying to hold back from crying.

"I'm gonna kill him on Monday. You of all people didn't deserve that." He said, getting angry.

"Please don't, I don't want you to get in trouble, can you just leave it be?? Please??" I ask, putting the ice pack on his desk next to his bed.

"Fine, if you don't want me to I won't, but if he tries anything, I will." He said. I didn't reply, all I could remember is thinking about how tired I was.

Finns POV

I am so mad about this situation. Romeo seriously had to punch a girl in the face?? And of all girls, Millie?? She didn't deserve this. I shut my eyes and just thought about what to do. I don't know what to do. Then, all I could remember was falling asleep.

I woke up, and I looked outside. It's dark out. I look down, and Millie's head is on my chest, her arm over my stomach, her leg on top of mine, and I have my arms wrapped around her. Then, I hear knocking. I just ignore it until someone opens my door. It's Gaten, Sadie, and Caleb. I just pretend to be asleep to not make this situation awkward.

"FINN!! MILLIE!!!" I heard all of them yell, and Millie and I both jumped up and separated.

"Where were you guys?? We tried to find you after lunch, but you weren't there. So we went to Millie's, and you guys weren't there, so we came here. Why were you guys sleeping together??" Sadie asked.

"Uh, we didn't mean to fall asleep, and Romeo punched Millie in the face, so I took her here to get her ice." I look at Millie and her face is red, but not from the punch. Is she blushing??

"Sorry to worry you guys." Millie said, keeping her head down. I looked at her, and she was looking down.

"Just come meet us in Caleb's car, we are going somewhere, we will be in the car." Gaten said, all of them running out of my room, laughing. I look over at Millie, and she looks at me. Her eye is getting worse, it's turning a purpleish color.

"Sorry for falling asleep," I said, starting to stand up.

"It's fine, I'm sorry I fell asleep too," she said, and we both laughed. We both walked to Caleb's car and Sadie was in the passenger seat, and Gaten sat behind Caleb, I sat in the middle, and Millie sat behind Sadie, and Noah was in the way back.

"Where are we going??" Millie asked, sounding a little tired.

"Movie theater!!!" They all yelled, and Millie and I laughed.

"Maddie and Grace are meeting us there, we are seeing Annabelle!!" Sadie said, sounding excited. I don't get scared from scary movies a lot, but I'm still excited to watch it.

"A-Annabelle??" Millie said, sounding nervous.

"Yeah, Millie I heard it's not that scary, you'll be fine." Sadie said, trying to comfort her.

"I can handle scary books, but scary movies, no way." She said, sounding anxious.

"Come on, please??? I bet you will like it!!" Sadie said, trying to convince her to come.

"Fine." Millie said, finally giving in.

"Hey guys!!" Grace said, along with Maddie.

"Hey!! Ready for Annabelle??" Sadie said, paying for all the tickets with the money we gave her for our own tickets. We walked into the theater room and the row went in an order: Caleb, Sadie, Maddie, Gaten, Noah, Grace, Millie, then me.

We weren't even halfway through the movie when Millie and I looked over to everyone else, and they were all just making out, but Sadie and Caleb were watching the movie.

"This movie is really scary, I don't know what Sadie was talking about when she said it wasn't scary." Millie said, whispering into my ear. I silently laughed.

"What??" She whispered.

"It's just I don't get that scared from these movies." I said, and she just playfully rolled her eyes.

Later on in the movie, there were a lot of jump scares, and she would always jump and grab my arm that was rested on the arm rest. I didn't mind though. For me, it was actually getting really scary, and there was this one part where the demon started to get up and crack and I felt Millie's arms wrap around my arm and blocking her field of vision by putting her face into my shoulder. Good thing she can't hear my heart beating, it's beating really fast. I'm pretty sure it's because of the movie.

At the end of the movie, there was a huge jumpscare at the end and she hid her face in my shoulder again. I smiled, and then I looked at her, but I could only see her hair.

"Millie, the jumpscare is over." I whispered, and she lifted her head up to look at me. We kept eye contact.

"You sure??" She asked, sounding really nervous and scared.

"Positive." I whispered back, and she just kept looking at me. We locked eyes and didn't look away. She was still holding onto my arm, and we started to slowly lean in. We were about to kiss until we heard everyone getting up. She let go of my arm and we both backed away quickly and stood up. She ran her fingers through her hair and cleared her throat, and everyone else led the way out.

We were all in the car and everyone was talking except Millie and I. She was sitting by the window and I was in the middle again, basically everyone was in the same spots.

"So how did you two like the movie??" Sadie asked, sounding like we did something. Well, we almost did something.

"What do you mean??" Millie and I said at the same time, and looked at each other but looked away quickly.

"I'm just asking if you guys liked the movie. Wait did something happen I'm not aware of?" She asked.

"No" Millie and I both said at the same time again. She leaned her head against the window, and I looked down and fidgeted with my fingers.

"Oh, something happened, I can tell. What happened??" She asked again, and Caleb agreed.

"Guys nothing happened, we were just watching the movie." I said, trying to sound casual.

"Okay." Sadie said, and they turned on the radio.
