Millie

First day of school. As a junior. I'm 17 years old and I've barely done anything with my life. No boyfriends, only a couple of friends, no adventures, nothing. I don't really talk to people because I just don't think I'm that kind of person. I get into my car and started to drive to school. I'm just now starting to drive, and I'm excited so I don't have to walk. I start to drive to school and I get a text from my friend Sadie. We could say we are best friends.

@sadiepop- First day of school!! Good luck, we'll both need it.

I smiled, but didn't text back because I was driving.

"Millie!!!"

Sadie yelled down the hallway. My eyes widened because I don't like to bring any attention to myself. She came up and hugged me, then I pulled back after a few seconds.

"How was your summer in London??" I asked Sadie.

"I loved it!! It's beautiful!! And everyone has an accent like you!!"

I laughed, then we looked at our schedules. We saw that we had math, language, and biology together. We went our separate ways to find our lockers, and I started to put some of my things in there. Then, I hear someone walk up to my locker.

"Hey Millie!!"

It was Noah. I said hi, and we checked our schedules. I had math and history with him. We talked for a little, then he went to his locker. I only have a few friends, but I like it like that. They are Sadie, Noah, Gaten, and Caleb. It's a small group, but we like it like that.

" Hello everyone!! I hope you all had a great summer, but school is starting. You can sit with whoever you want to for today, but there will be new seating in a few days." My math teacher says, and Sadie and I immediately walk over to one of the tables. There's only 2 per table, so Noah sat with Caleb, sadly Gaten didn't have math with us. We sat in the way back corner, and Noah and Caleb sat in front of us. Then, I see someone else walk through the door. He was pretty cute.

"Yo what's up ms Reynolds!!"

"Go sit down."

He smiled, and was walking to find a seat, and his eyes met mine. I quickly looked away, he could be a bad influence. Everyone around him started talking to him. That's when I found out what his name was.

"Romeo!!! Haven't seen you in forever!!" One of his Friends said.

Romeo, nice name. (ITS NOT FINN YOU GUYS THOUGHT LOL)

The day closed to an end, and I just got to know people in all my classes. I went to my locker and got what I needed, and I started to walk away. I was turning one of the corners of the hallway when all of a sudden I bumped into somebody really hard. It slammed my body to the wall, and I looked up because they were taller than me. It was a guy, and he had dark brown curly hair, and freckles everywhere. You can say he's attractive.

"Might wanna watch were you're going next time, shortie." He said.

"I'm not short." I said back, obviously angry with him, not wanting to talk to other people besides my friends.

"Uh yeah you kind of are, I'm 5'11, and you are probably 5'3 at the highest." He said, smiling at me.

I just rolled my eyes and walked away.

"The names Finn by the way!!" He yelled down the hallway.

I just rolled my eyes again, and found Sadie, Noah and Caleb talking. I walked up to them, and they welcomed me with a smile.

"Hey Millie!! How was your first day?"
Caleb asked me. He looked like he was in a good mood.

"Good I guess, besides the part where this guy totally ran into me and insulted me for my height."

"Who??" Sadie asked, curious.

"He said his name was Finn."

"Ohh, THE Finn Wolfhard. Yeah, he gets in a lot of trouble, he's like the bad boy of the school." Caleb added.

"Not a surprise there". I said bye to them, and drove home.

I got home and opened the door, and found my Mom and my older sister, Paige, arguing. Not a surprise there. My Dad left my mom, they never gave us a reason why, they just got a divorce and I haven't talked to him since. He was the best dad I could ever of had. He loved me so much, and he used to take me ice skating every Christmas Eve. It's been about 2 and a half years since he left, and I'm still always upset about it. Just whenever someone mentions him, I start to get really sad. I wish I could have gone with my dad, instead of here with my mom. The only people who bring me joy nowadays are Sadie, Noah, Caleb, Gaten, and Paige. Paige is nice to me, but she's always arguing with my mom. Paige is 22 and she's in college right now, but she comes home sometimes. She's been home for a week, and is leaving in a couple days. My mom is just going crazy. She's always babbling about something, and how she wants me to help other people. I just ignored her, until she signed me up to be a tutor this year. I don't really mind it, but it would be nice if I didn't have to. I go upstairs into my room and put on some music, and call Sadie.

"Hey Millie, what's up??"

"Nothing, just wanted to talk. I was bored." I said, looking at my nails, because I painted them yesterday, and I was checking to see if they were chipped. They weren't.

"Same, but I'm glad school started on a Thursday, and you know what that means." She said, getting excited.

"What?" I knew what she was gonna say, I just didn't want to hear what she was gonna say.

"Party at Noah's Friday!!!!" She said, really excited and happy. She is more talkative then me, so she finds them fun. I will go to parties, I just don't converse that much.

"Nice." We talked for a couple more hours, then I finally ended it because I had to shower and go to bed. I wonder what my junior year will be like. Hopefully the days will just pass by quick and I won't have to make any new friends, I don't like talking to people I don't know, if you didn't catch on.

That's the end of the chapter, for the first chapter. I'm so excited to start making this book. I'm really hoping you guys will read it.
