Shortly after that whole ordeal, the rest of the Kira task force walked in, getting to work.

"Hey, M. There is something interesting about the front and back inside covers of the notebook." L said, pointing them out.

There were rules. Of course you had seen them before, but you hadn't read them yet.

"The rules? What about them?" You said, confused.

"One of them say- 'If the user of the Death Note fails to consecutively write names within 13 days of each other, then the user will die.'"

Before you could say anything about it, Matsuda chimed in.

"Hey! That means Light is no longer a suspect!"

"According to the book, yes." You respond, still confused.

Light cut in "Finally! Now you know I'm not Kira!"

You and L were the only people left in the room. Everyone else went to bed. Due to you usually not being able to fall asleep, you were still up.
You fell asleep about every three days, unless you were stressed out. L, on the other hand, had no sleeping pattern. He never really had one. Sometimes you can't help but wonder why he became this way shortly after he came to the orphanage. You knew how his mother was, and knew how he came to the orphanage. Even though you knew this, you never understood his sleeping patterns.

He looked deep in thought, probably confused about the rules. We KNEW that Light was Kira. There was almost no doubt.

"M?"

"Yeah, L?"

"Do you believe that some of these rules could be fake?"

"Yes, I do, actually. I think that some of them are really far-fetched. Even in this situation." You said, pointing out two rules in particular.

"Yes" he said, agreeing with you

"L, do you think that Kiras 'power' can move between people?"

"It is a possibility. I'll have to think about that"

"M?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you have feelings for Light?"

"I don't know, honestly I think he is too much of a suspect. Even with this situation"

"Hmmm..."

The morning rolled around as you and L continued to talk.

However, our pleasant conversation was ruined when Matsuda ran into the room.
we had gotten word of something terrible. Soichiro Yagami had died last night.

Of a heart attack.

When the rest of the task force ran in, you immediately noticed that Light was not very distressed. Him and his father were close, and it seemed like he was only pretending to care.

Did he kill him?

It seems as if L thought the same thing. Ever since he touched the notebook, he started acting suspicious again.

We seemed to have the same thought process on everything that has happened in the last few days.

We need to come up with a plan.

We came up with a plan. We would get Near and maybe even Matt and Mello on the case. We could trick light and corner him, making him admit that he is kira.

It is simple compared to other things thar you've done, but it seems like this will work.

L's p.o.v

Me and F/N have decided to get Near and possibly Matt and Mello on the case. I believe that this will be extremely helpful.

The more people suspect light, the more frantic he will become.

He will admit that he is kira.
