Perfect bate
Hello, my lovelies! I'm back with another motherf**king chapter!! I know that it has taken me hella long to update, but in my defence, I was struggling to find a way to end this book that will please everyone. There are not that many chapters left, so this book will be ending soon. I'm so sad about this because I love this story and I love interacting with you guys. But, as the saying goes, all good things must end.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this chapter. I love you guys for being so patient with me and sticking with me through this crazy journey. When I thought that writing wasn't for me, you guys were the ones that give me hope. At one point, I thought that my books weren't any good, but you guys made me realise that I should have more confidence in my work and trust the process.
Thank you for believing in me!

Killian's P.O.V
"Have we found my sister?"
I didn't like how long it was taking them to find Kinsley and I especially didn't like all the dead ends and missed opportunities that we were encountering. It reminded me too much of Natasha.
"Boss, I don't think that Kinsley will show herself. She knows how you work; she is armed with years of knowledge on you. I still think that our best bet is to use the children to draw her out." Lloyd said.
I frowned at him. We had this discussion already and I've already turned him down. I even told the stupid idiot not to ever mention his idiotic plan in front of Lilly, but the fool never listened.
Before I could tell Lloyd that his plan was out of the question, Lilly already had her knife in her hand and to his throat.
"You wanna repeat that. More slowly this time."
Lloyd's eyes widened as she pressed the tip of her blade into his flesh. He looked at me, hoping that I would call her off, but I just folded my arms and smiled. I loved seeing her take control, but I f**king loved seeing her playing with her knives even more.
"You want to use my kids as bate? Do you have a death wish?"
She dug the blade deeper into his flesh, cause Lloyd to grimace. I felt proud watching my very petite wife dominating a man that was almost twice her size. The scene was almost comical because if it wasn't for the extremely high heels that she was wearing, she would not have been able to reach his neck without getting on her toes.
Lloyd raised his hand in surrender and apologised. He realised that I wasn't going to help him, and my baby would have slit his throat if he said the wrong thing.
"Calm down, sis. We still need him."
Lilly withdrew her knife. She spun it in her hand then skilfully slid it into the sheath that was secured to her upper thigh.
"We can use the fake bitch. We can set her loose to draw in both Kinsley and Richard."
Mik walked back into the room, a plate with a half-eaten sandwich in his hand. The sandwich that Red had made for me earlier. I narrowed my eyes at him. I sometimes wondered if Jessy didn't feed him because he was always at my house eating my shit.
"Are you f**king eating my lunch?"
Mik shrugged, picking up the sandwich and taking another big bite. Lilly laughed beside me when I reached for my gun.
"Sharing is caring, bro."
He stuffed the last of the food into his mouth and made a show of licking his fingers.
"We could use her, but we'd risk her betraying us and teaming up with them. Or there's the possibility that Kinsley could kill her."
Levi joined in. I holstered my gun and frowned at Mik when he placed his empty plate on my daughter's grand piano that I paid a small fortune for.
"Were you f**king raised by wolves? Take your plate off of my daughter's piano."
I knew that he was doing it to piss me off because he took his greasy hand and wiped it on the side of the piano.
I jumped up. "That's it! I'm f**king shooting your dumbass today. It has been a long time coming."
He laughed, grabbing the plate, and darted out of the room. Lilly held on to my hand when I reached for my gun again. She was laughing along with him, but I didn't see the humour.
"You two are hilarious. I swear you love teasing each other." She said through sniffles.
"One of these days, I'm really going to shoot him, and I won't feel sorry about it."
She laughed harder, but I meant every word. The bastard has been provoking me for years. He had missed my bullet multiple times, but one day one of them will catch him.
I sat back down just as the idiot walked back into the room with a stupid grin on his ugly face.
"I'm not saying we should trust her; I'm saying we should use her. Think about it neither Kinsley nor Richard will be able to resist going after her if we release her. She is the perfect bate."
Mik continued talking like his dumbass wasn't just about to get a bullet. I still itched to shoot him, just to wipe the smug look off his face and to satisfy myself. However, Red slipped her hand in mine, calming me somewhat.
"Yeah, but that still leaves the problem of her working with them and Kinsley killing her," Levi stressed.
"I agree with Levi. I don't trust her enough to not betray us." Lilly chined in.
"Then we're back to having no clue where Kinsley is and no way of getting her to reveal herself."
Lloyd ran his hand through his hair. I could understand his frustration. We were getting nowhere. Kinsley was the worse type of threat because she had inside knowledge of how my organisation worked, and she knew exactly how I did things.
"I still say we use little miss fake bitch. We know that she will not work with Richard, because he was the one, she was running from in the beginning. And if she decides to team up with Kinsley, then we plan for that. And if Kinsley killed her in the process, then we still win. I don't see the dilemma." Mik gave a nonchalant shrug.
Lilly giggled, finding Mik's attitude amusing. I understood why they hated her. After all, she f**ked mine and Red's life up. But even knowing that, I still didn't share in their hatred. I hated what she did, but not her. She lived a very f**ked up life that forced her to do what she did. I'm not trying to justify her actions, but just trying to put myself in her shoes.
My thoughts made me paused. I've never before cared enough to see things from anyone's perspective, except Lilly and maybe Mik. The fact that I was showing mercy to Lacey made me wonder if something was wrong with me.
"I still don't think we should use her. If we do that then we will be playing right into Kinsley's hand. She will be expecting that. I think we should use me instead."
"Not f**king happening!" both Mik and I said together.
I looked at her like she was crazy. She wanted me to agree to her putting herself in danger yet again.
"Why not?! It's perfect, Killian. No one will expect you to use me as bate. I can draw Kinsley out and we can finally put an end to this nightmare that we've been living in."
She tried to get me to buy into her argument, but I wasn't having any of it. I didn't care how right she was. Putting her life in danger was not an option.
"Red, I'm not playing with your life, not even for a f**king microsecond and that's final!"
She started to protest, but I cut her off. "We're done here. Let's reconvene tomorrow when we've had a night to sleep and think things over."
Levi and Lloyd left the room. Levi said that he was going to see if his FBI contact came back with anything on Richard. And Lloyd said that he was going to see if any of his girls in the clubs has heard anything about Kinsley.
"Killian."
She started, but I cut her off again. "We're not even going to discuss it."
I got up from the couch when she tried to use her charms on me. She knew she was my weakness, and I'd do anything for her, but that was definitely not something that I would do for her.
"You are so f**king pig-headed! You need to have things your way at all times, even when you know that this is the only way."
She raised from her seat as well, coming to stand in front of me. The creases at her temple and the line under her eyes showed her frustration and impatience. I wanted to make all her troubles vanish, but not at the expense of her life.
"Then so f**king be it! I'll continue to be a pig-headed controlling bastard if it means you are not put in danger."
We were both shouting at this point. Mik stood in the corner, all but forgotten as both Lilly and I vent our frustration.
"It's a great idea and possibly the only way for us to get Kinsley and you know it! Why are you being so difficult?!" She puffed out through clenched teeth.
"Because I'm not f**king losing you again! Not again! I wouldn't survive it, baby. I refuse to survive it." The latter was said in a defeated tone.
"Killian, you're not going to lose me, I promise. But this is the only way we can protect our family." She pleaded with me.
Her eyes begging me to understand and agree, but I just couldn't. I couldn't bring myself to let her risk her life when there was a chance that she could get hurt.
I took her hands in mine, liking how soft and delicate she felt. "I can't, baby. Please don't ask me to do this. If I lose you, I will lose myself as well."
She sighed, her shoulders slumping. I could see that she wasn't happy with my reply, but she still nodded her agreement. I nodded as well, pulling her into my arms and holding her tight."
"We are utterly and truly screwed if we don't find Kinsley fast." Mik finally spoke.
He was right. We would have to rethink our action plan and come up with a way to catch my sister. Preferably one that doesn't involve Red's life being put in danger.
