"What the heck did you do with your phone yesterday?" Jethro grumbled as they settled at a table. The cafeteria looked tense, like how it felt yesterday when he struck the lanky boy. All eyes were shooting glances at him and he could agree now that Gavin's assumption was right. He was being looked at as a villain, but he saw himself as a star instead. Sweet! He gave an insane smile.

"What's funny?" Gavin's brows arched at him and he folded his arms across his chest in some suspicion, "You found it." He presumed.

"Yeah." Jethro nodded, the smile still lacing his face.

"Good. Where's it?" Gavin sighed in relief. It was when he got home drenched last night that he discovered the phone was missing and had Callie known, he would have certainly been in bigger trouble with the woman who had initially ranted about him coming home so late and wet like a drowned rat. Drowned rat. She had called him that. He remembered and chuckled before fixing his eyes on Jethro who had ignored his question, "Dude, where's it?"

"At Liam's inn," Jethro answered dryly, pricking his salad with a fork.

"Liam's inn?" Gavin's face squeezed before he finally got it, "Oh..there?" He exclaimed.

"Yeah there." Jethro grunted, " And you spoilt my dream last night. " He accused in a fit of false anger.

"How?" Gavin's eyes rolled at him.

"You made me speak with that sweaty woman before going to sleep. I dialed your number and she picked." Jethro narrated and he was almost laughing too as his naughty friend gave a funny expression.

"And she later appeared in your dream chasing you with flowers?" Gavin crooned with a sultry wink that got Jethro cackling as all eyes seemed to circle on them asking the distinct question, ' what had got him laughing so hard, just yesterday he was frowning and hurling a fellow student down'.

"Wait, is it some kind of prank you left your phone with her?" Jethro asked in the afterglow of his wild laughter, neglecting the critical looks fixed on him.

"Maybe," Gavin shrugged, "I think you guys are a good match. Age is just a number, yunno." He purred, giving that crazy wink again.

"Damn." That was what Jethro could mutter as his heart heaved in a peal of strangled laughter. He didn't want to make a scene with that again.

"So, did you collect her flowers in your dream or ..." Gavin was making another tease again.

"Dude.." Jethro quickly interrupted with a beam that somehow turned dim in a couple of seconds. Gavin's mention of flowers had brought back the weird dream he had about Ava. Remembering Ava, he pouted and rested back on his chair, sad.

"What happened?" Gavin asked, noticing his sudden change of mood.

"About Ava," He started, raking his hair with fingers, "I have a change of plan."

"You want us to go visit her before the weekend?" Gavin guessed so right, recalling how displeased his friend had looked when he made the 'weekend' suggestion the last evening.

"You're smart." Jethro breathed and nodded, "That's why I called you last night. To notify you we're going today."

"Today?" Gavin shrieked, "That's too quick."

"No, it's not," Jethro affirmed, thrusting a fork of salad into his mouth.

Gavin could only sigh afterward and then distracted himself by casting glances around the cafeteria. Nobody seemed to be paying attention to them again. Everyone seemed to be busy with their lunch now as there were only ten minutes left. But in all of it, Gavin saw a couple of eyes lingering at them with interest and he called his friend's attention to it.

"Hey, look there" He swayed his head at where the girl was seated, "See, Katie staring at you. Seems she wants a talk."

"Then go give her the talk." Jethro dismissed, packing in more of his salad.

"She's staring at you, not me." Gavin hissed and then bent forward for his next statement, "Should I go call her?" He whispered and when Jethro would not answer him, he concluded, "I'll go call her."

"Hey.." Jethro frowned a warning but Gavin was already rising from his chair.

"Going to call her. Talk to her, man. Ask about what caused the fuss with Finn yesterday. I'm interested in that." Gavin said excitedly and gave a parting wink as he moved between the tables, towards Katie.

"Argh." Jethro sighed in frustration and dropped his fork clumsily into the plate as he watched Gavin whisper some words to Katie and she giggled. She looked up to his table and Jethro quickly averted his stare before wondering why the hell he did that. Was he shy? No, he can't be...

"Hi, Jethro." Katie's sweet voice cut through his thought as she sat on the chair that Gavin had previously occupied.

"Hi." He gulped and glanced up to check for Gavin but his naughty friend had disappeared just as he did yesterday.

"Gavin said you want us to talk." Katie purred in delight and Jethro was forced to give a cursory smile.

"Yeah.." He drawled at the loss of words. He didn't even know how to start the conversation, he raked some fingers into his hair in frustration and then smiled shyly when an idea came to his head, "Guess you've also heard of my drama here yesterday." He tittered, not bothering if that was a good way to start. He's just got to say something.

"No." Katie shook her head as her eyes fixed on the table, not looking at him. "I saw it myself." She said in a voice full of disappointment.

"But I'm not that hostile, yunno." He beamed feeble self-defense.

"Maybe." Katie only shrugged and finally looked into his face for her next statement, "And you did that because of Ava?" Her eyes did a double with Jethro's as she asked and again his fingers went into his hair.

"The boy called her a whore." He snorted, trying to justify himself.

"And that irked you?" The surprise could not be hidden in Katie's voice.

"I just hate people being called such offensive names." He grunted.

"Finn had heard that ton of times and didn't even raise a hand. He had just been barking around the house and on me especially." Katie croaked, her face going pale.

"I saw that too," Jethro remarked, knowing he had to seize the chance to ask about what had happened between her and Finn yesterday.

"Saw what?" Katie's eyelashes fluttered eagerly at him.

"I saw him yelling at you one time yesterday after school." He narrated and Katie giggled as she remembered that moment Finn had madly parked the car, stomped out, and started barking at her.

"He's just been a hot head ever since the Ava thing happened." She huffed, "He told Ava not to come for the party and she came, he'd been really mad at that." She disclosed glumly.

"Why didn't Finn want her to come?" Jethro asked purposely, pretending he never knew about that.

"Stan was coming for the party too." Katie sniggered and then paused to ask, "You know about Stan, right?"

"A little." Jethro bobbed his head, "Heard he was Ava's..."

"Yeah." Katie sharply interrupted, "He'd always been on Ava's mind all time. I tried to let Finn see that but he was just too blind to. She came to the party for Stan and they ended up together. And the pictures and everything." She narrated with a wry smile.

"But I wonder why she did that. Those pictures?" Jethro mused and Katie looked at him suspiciously.

"You look too worried about her." She said with a surveying squint.

"No, not at all." Jethro denied it, faking a frown and internally criticizing himself for showing too much emotion.

"Well, about the pictures, I think she was drugged." Katie sighed afterward and Jethro's eyes bulged at her.

"Really?" He squeaked before remembering not to expose himself again.

"Yeah," Katie affirmed, "And I won't doubt Stan was behind it all." She stated and then snickered when Jethro's face squeezed up at her in confusion, "You're doubting that right?" She chuckled.

"Of course." He breathed.

"Well, maybe my assumption was wrong but I wonder why he ran away when all the picture thing happened." Katie shrugged.

"He ran away?" Jethro could not restrain his traitorous emotion now as his face focused keenly on Katie, impatiently waiting for her to assert that.

"Yeah, he did." She smirked and slowly he rested back on his chair with a profound intake of air.
