Chapter 5: Shopping
Third person POV
"So have you been able to find anything?" Raiden asked when Taj entered his study.
The mage had a terrified expression as he responded, "Sire, it seems the coven has a long-standing history with the Sword River pack run by Alpha Caipus. I haven't been able to locate the exact pact she referred to, but it seems the Alpha does provide financial support to the coven and visits once every year at the Equinox festival.
Raiden growled, "That's not enough, Taj. She is terrified. I mean they're going to sacrifice her for fucks sake! Can we at least protect her here?"
"I can secure the protection wards and we rarely interact with the wolves, Sire. They should have no reason to suspect her presence. Given a bit more time, I'm confident I can locate some way to intervene or even terminate the pact."
A soft knock on the door halted their conversation. "Come in,"
Mira poked her head inside the door slightly, "Hey, um, sorry to interrupt, but I need some things. Could you, um, maybe send me back to my apartment now? I don't want to be a bother any longer."
Raiden glanced at Taj. "Well, I'll let you two speak privately," he said as he opened the door and scurried past Mira.
"I'm sorry. I really didn't mean to interrupt your meeting," she apologized again.
He stood and taking her hand, he led her to the small sofa in the office. Sitting together he spoke, "Nonsense, you interrupted nothing. Now, please explain why you are in such a hurry to leave me. Have I not been a good host?"
Her cheeks flushed, "No, it's not that. I already told you, I can't be in the magical realm. I need to go back to the moral realm and stay hidden."
"Little one," his voice was gentle, "Please stay. I meant what I said last night. I want to find a way to help you, Mira. You can't keep running forever, even in the mortal realm."
She sighed, "Well, I still need my stuff. You can't keep conjuring clothes."
He bent next to her ear, "I much prefer making them vanish." Her lips parted in a soft noise as he breathed in her arousal. "I think you do as well. You really are quite wicked, little one." She swayed a bit as he chuckled. He stood and pulled her up with him. "Perhaps a shopping trip would ease your clothing worries, yes?"
"Raiden, I don't have any money...good grief, I don't even know what the currency here is," she groaned.
"Ahem, King, remember," he smirked. "I'm not exactly worried about your financial standing, my dear." Her cheeks flushed and she mumbled under her breath. "What was that?"
"Nothing," she muttered in defeat. He laughed as he led her down the hall.

Raiden's POV
The look on her face as she wandered the market shops was pure joy. I remembered her earlier comment about never leaving the covenant walls. She deserved to see the world wasn't all bad. She deserved to be spoiled. However, that was more of a challenge. Every time she considered an item, she'd look at the prices and put it back. I was tempted to just buy everything she looked at but the glare she gave me when I mentioned it was bone-chilling. For such a small creature, she was intimidating.
She picked up a dress and I watched her eyes light up, then she scowled when she looked at the tag. That's it, I'm done. Marching up to the counter I gave instructions to the clerk and pulled Mira with me to the dressing gallery. "What are you doing?" she blustered with an indignant look. Her mouth dropped as she watched the assistants bring in dozens of dresses, tops, and pants for her to try on.
"Will there be anything else, Your Majesty?" the owner asked as his clerks set up displays with shoes and jewelry.
"No, Mr. Lorzst, this will do. We just need some privacy. I will notify you of our decisions," I informed him as he began to usher the workers out.
"Raiden, this is too much," Mira whined. One of the sales clerks froze mid-step when she heard Mira use my first name. I cleared my throat and gave the clerk a harsh glare as she scurried out and closed the door.
"Little one, we won't buy it all, but we've been shopping for two hours and you have yet to try on a single outfit. I've had them remove all the tags so that you will simply focus on what you like and not the prices. I'm a King for goodness sake, Mira. I can afford whatever you desire," I told her, pressing a kiss to her head.
"Fine," she muttered and took a few outfits into the dressing stall. I sat down in a large chair and sipped on the water the clerks had left for us. "Um, are you sure about these outfits," she called out.
Fighting my urge to yell, I answered, "Just come out, little one. Let me see, please." Very slowly, she opened the door and I growled low. She looked amazing. It was a deep blue gown that hugged every curve and cut low at her bustline. Against her pale skin, it looked mesmerizing. "You look beautiful," I breathed.
Her cheeks flushed as she lowered her head, "Don't look away from me," I told her as I walked toward her, lifting her chin. "You are a strong and beautiful woman, Mira. Don't hide that." Her eyes widened as I lowered my head, capturing her lips with mine. She tasted sweet and I felt the need to feel her, all of her. With a snap of my fingers, the dress was back on the hanger and she stood before me in only a lacy thong. She tried to cover herself in vain as I grabbed her hands. My clothes had vanished as well and I felt my tail itching to make her cry out my name. Pulling her against my chest, I still held her wrists in one hand while the other tangled in her hair, forcing her to meet my gaze. "You are mine, Mira," I growled as my tail crashed against her backside.
She jolted and moaned, "Raiden, please." She jerked and whimpered with each blow until she was shivering with need.
My hand slid between her legs as she leaned against me. "So wet, little one. Shall I give you the release you so desperately want?" She mumbled and nodded, her eyes glassy with desire. Pushing her against the wall, I knelt before her, running my tongue over her core.
Her head rolled back as I pressed my tongue inside her warmth. "Oh, my gods," she whimpered while I gripped her hips and continued to taste her sweet flavor. I could feel her body quivering as she drew near to her release. Without warning I thrust my fingers inside her and pressed against her inner walls as she screamed out. Standing quickly, I caught her as her legs buckled beneath her and carried her to the chair I'd been sitting in. She giggled softly, "If we do that after every dress I try on, we might be here a while."
I chuckled and pressed her close, "There's no place I'd rather be, Mira."
