"How was your first day?" Sage asks her niece over Skype.

"It was alright, hard but alright." Brianna replies.

"You like your new school?" Sage asks.

"Where's my dad" Bri asks.

"He's doing training" Sage says.

"Why aren't you?" Brianna asks.

"I out rank him" She replies.

"Really?" Bri asks shocked.

"Yeah he's probably somewhere on the trails working on running the 8 miles I said they had to. Perks to out ranking everyone" Sage says.

"Really" Bri asks.

"Yeah I made the whole unit do it just for the hell of it. Your dads actually one of the fastest in my unit" Sage remarks.

"Brianna someone's at the door for you" Rick says knocking on her bedroom door.

"Be right back Auntie" She says getting up leaving her room.

Moments later Drew walks into the barracks.

"Everyone else is still like 2 or more miles back" Drew says laughing catching his breath.

"Auntie Sage meet my friend Melissa I met her this morning after you dropped me off." Brianna says introducing Melissa to Sage.

"Your dads right here if you want to talk to him" Sage offers to Brianna who Melissa was now lying beside on her bed.

"Dude did you really just lie down beside me on my bed in your sweaty running clothes?" Sage questions daringly.

"Yeah he did Aunt Sage" Brianna laughs.

"Melissa meet my other dad, Captain Drew Alister. And that's my aunt, Major Sage Alister. They are both Army Medics, and they work at San Antonio Memorial Hospital when not deployed or training." Brianna says introducing her.

"My moms, um one is deployed in Bagram Afghanistan, the other she's a physical therapist at San Antonio Memorial Hospital" Melissa says.

"We have more in common than we knew" Brianna says.

"Hey Melissa anything you want us to bring anything to your mom?" Sage offers

"We can meet you at the gate and pick whatever it is up" Drew adds.

"Uhh sure" She replies.

"Rick can drive us tomorrow after school" Brianna says.

"My mom hasn't responded to all the letters I've sent her so I . . . I stopped sending them to her" Melissa confesses. "So I have like a huge stack. Can you give her those. Her name is Captain Kara Riley."

"We will be sure to get them to her" Sage assures Melissa.

"We can see if she'll Skype with you too" Drew says.

"That would be nice" Melissa says.

"Dad she's in orchestra too" Brianna announces.

"What instrument do you play" Drew asks.

"I play Cello, Viola, and Bass. I can also play Percussion Clarinet and Flute" Melissa says.

"My aunt plays Viola, Cello, and Drums" Brianna says.

"She told me you want to see if she can play Bach's Cello Suite No. 1, I said I'd help her" Melissa says fidgeting with her hair.

"When is your mom coming home?" Drew asks the girl who clearly seems to be bugged by something.

"She's a medic so her tour got extended. She gets home in two months." Melissa says a tear falling from her eye.

"Dad isn't that when you and Auntie get back?" Bri asks.

"Yeah. We will probably be working with your mom Melissa" Sage says.

"Oh and my sister is her boss apparently" Drew says informingly.

"Sage make sure she's ok?" Melissa says with question in her tone.

"Melissa I promise to have your moms back Drew and I both do." Sage promises.

"Well we gotta go, Rick is taking us to dinner see you tomorrow." Brianna says

"Before you go, Rangers?" Drew asks both girls.

"Lead the way" they both say in unison. Brianna then ending the Skype with her aunt and dad.

"I miss her already" Drew says.

The next day, and after school had arrived.

"You two ready to go?" Rick asks picking them up from school.

"I forgot other dad took the truck and that you'd be using the Jeep" Brianna says sitting in the back, Melissa getting in next to her.

"I don't want them to go" Brianna says.

"They have too. Sweetie I'm sorry." Rick explains

They pull into a parking lot where they see the Alister siblings leaning against the truck.

"It's nice to meet you all in person" Melissa says to Sage and Drew.  "Here are the letters, paintings, and drawings. And I got her this it's a pair of drum sticks."

"We will get these to your mom" Sage reassures her.

"We gotta go get on the plane. I love you sweetie" Drew says kneeling down in front of Brianna. Walking over to Rick giving him a hug before

"I'm gonna miss them" Drew says as they drive away.

"Me too" Sage responds.

On the plane it was silent. Sage had tried to nap but instead found herself drumming her drum pad.

"Drew I'm nervous" Sage says. 

"It's ok we will be fine" Drew remarks.

"We will be landing in twenty minutes. Please get ready for your landing." The pilot announces.

"Alright listen up we are going Bagram Air Force base. It's like if we were to work in a hospital. We work in the main medical area unless told we need to go out. So that said, when it comes time to send people out I will decide and send whoever I see fit." Sage says having stood up.

"Please buckle up we are preparing for our landing" the pilot says.

Soon after the plane is landed and the rangers start to unload on Bagram Air Force base. 

They start making there way to the housing compounds.

"Major Alister your group has today to get settled you start working tomorrow" the head of the base says walking over to Sage.

"Yes sir I will let them know" she replies.
