So last Chapter things were going normal for our young New Type until he witnessed the death of a comrade named Eric, which affected (Y/n) to where he had to take some time off. Will he pull through? Or will this permanently cause him to quit? Let's find out now."

(A/n):"It's kinda sad that Eric was introduced with Soma only to get killed off just for story reason. Well that's my two cents anyway back to the story."

3rd Pov
"It's been a few days after the tragic lost of Eric, and everyone was deeply saddened by his lost, (Y/n) has taken it a bit harder since he was right there to witness it, he still tries to go on missions, but after that he heads straight to his room and sleeps. Kota and the others come by to check the troubled New Type and do what they can to lift his spirits which manage to work. Kota came by to visit (Y/n) to ask him if, he wanted to watch Bugarally or play video games so of course he picked both. So now the two were hanging out in his room playing some good old games just enjoying their time hanging out."

Kota:"So you doing alright buddy?"

(Y/n):"Mmm..Yeah I guess..it's just what happened kinda made me...well you know."

Kota:"Yeah I get what ya mean, but..."

(Y/n):"Hm?"

Kota:"I know it may not be for me to say, but I think Eric may not wanted us to stay gloomy forever you know?"

(Y/n):"........."

Kota:"While yes it's bad we lost a partner, yes it's okay to mourn for someone who died,but I don't think he would always want us to stay depressed."

Kota:"He would want us to push ourselves forward and, look at the future with smiles on our faces."

(Y/n):"Hmm....."

Kota:"Ehh that's just what I think of the situation."

(Y/n):"Yeah..."

Kota:"Huh?"

(Y/n):"I'm saying you might be right. He would want us to remember him by keeping him in our thoughts."

Kota:"See! Now ready for some Bugarally?"

(Y/n):"Heh..sure I could go some right now. How far are you on that?"

Kota:"Oh well I'm-"

"Knock."

"Knock.."

"Knock..."

(Y/n)/Kota:*Both of them look at each other confused.*"

Kota:"Coming, coming!"

"As soon as Kota opens the door it reveals Soma standing there with his stoic expression."

Kota:"Hey, hey! What can I do for ya buddy?"

Soma:"Don't call me that..Is he here?"

Kota:"Who (Y/n)?"

Soma:"Who else?*He asks a bit annoyed.*"

Kota:"Sheesh no need to be rude. Yo (Y/n)."

(Y/n):"Yo what can I do for you Soma?"

Soma:"Lindow wants to see you as soon as possible."

(Y/n):"Alright. I'll see you later Kota."

Kota:"See ya buddy."

"After saying farewell (Y/n) and Soma makes their way to the elevator and (Y/n) goes ahead and hits Veterans Section and once the doors closed it was just the two God Eaters standing in an awkward silence,in the elevator that's now rising up. So (Y/n) decides to try and clear the awkward tension in room by trying to make small talk."

(Y/n):"So Soma..."

Soma:"..........."

(Y/n):"How are you holding up?"

Soma:"I'm fine."

(Y/n):"R-really?"

Soma:"Yes, should there be a reason why I shouldn't?"

(Y/n):"Well I mean with what happened to E-"

Soma:"He died simple as that. The weak die and the strong live another day."

(Y/n):"........"

Soma:"It's as I told you before death is not so rare out there.."

(Y/n):"But you had to feel something guilt, remorse, sadness...."

Soma:".........."

(Y/n):"He told me that your a great person that you-"

Soma:"Enough. I just came to tell you that Lindow wants to see you....that's all.."

(Y/n):"Soma...I know..maybe I'm not one to speak, but..you must be feeling it too the sadness.."

Soma:"......"

(Y/n):"Like I said maybe it's just me. I do see you being not only a great partner.."

"We reach the Veterans Section with (Y/n) stepping out just a bit before turning his head to look back at Soma."

(Y/n):"But I also see you becoming a great friend...I'll see you later.*Walks away from the elevator to Lindow's room.*"

"Afterward that the elevator soon descended leaving Soma by himself only to curse at the fact (Y/n) was somewhat right as much as he didn't want show it, this affected him, but like always all the God Eater can do is mourn for those who fell in battle with him. All he can do is continue to fight and hope no one else dies."

(Y/n) Pov

I make my way to Lindow's door and start knocking and after a few seconds, the door opens to reveal Lindow himself as he gives me a kind smile."

Lindow:"Hey there (Y/n) glad you can make it. Come on in."

(Y/n):"Ahh thanks."

"Once I make my way in, he gestures me to sit and get comfortable on the couch while he goes in the fridge searching for something to grab."

Lindow:"*Looks up at you* You want a beer?"

(Y/n):"H-heh I'm still a minor Lindow.."

Lindow:"Heh heh I'm joking.*Closes the fridge and sits next to you*"

Lindow:"So..*Sips* we never really did have this type of talk did we?"

(Y/n):"About what?"

Lindow:"I mean you never seen a comrade die in front of you."

(Y/n):"Oh..yeah..we didn't..."

Lindow:"Right.*Sips* Well I thought maybe we could talk for a bit. You know let out anything to help clear your head."

(Y/n):"Sure..that actually sounds nice.."

"For awhile we talked for quite a bit, I let out how I felt about the whole situation and a bit on how much it affected me, and he did a lot to comfort me, heck he even told me that he even lost a few good people back then and that it did affect him. Though he said it would have gotten possibly worse if it wasn't for his sister and the others to help motivate him and get him back to how he is now. After a bit I asked what Eric was like and apparently he was a rich kid, a bit of a brat, but was all in all a good guy especially when he looked after his sister."

(Y/n):"(So that's who he was talking about.)"

Lindow:"Once you become a God Eater, you're mostly fighting against the weight of that responsibility. In his way, he fought as hard as he could..."

(Y/n):"Hmm...what about Soma? What's he like?"

Lindow:"Ahh. Soma's one of our top God Eaters in the Far East Branch, but sadly he's often misunderstood due to him being blunt."

(Y/n):"Yeah..(Seeing how he's act I can understand.)"

Lindow:"Mmm..well, you can't deny that he's a brat! But I don't think you'll ever find a kinder person."

Lindow:"His worst fear is losing a comrade right in before his eyes. That's why he always puts distance between others."

(Y/n):"(Of course who wouldn't be terrified of losing a comrade right in front of them?)"

Lindow:"So I'm ordering you to make friends with him and keep him from ever dying!"

(Y/n):"*Chuckles* Yes sir."

Lindow:"See! *Pats your back* that's the spirit! Make sure not to be too hard on him. Alright?"

(Y/n):"Right!"

"A few more minutes passed and we continued talking to each other, until afterwards I decided it was about time I left so once I got up and stretched Lindow decided to speak."

Lindow:"So (Y/n) how you feeling now?"

(Y/n):"I guess I'm feeling a bit better. You and everyone else did what they can to cheer me up. So I should say this to you now. Thank you Lindow."

Lindow:"Ehh don't worry about it too much."

(Y/n):"Well still thank you."

"After thanking Lindow for the talk I walk out of his room and make my way towards the elevator only to see Sakuya at the soda machine."

(Y/n):"Hey Sakuya how's it going?"

Sakuya:"It's going well. So I see you finish talking to Lindow. How are you feeling?"

(Y/n):"*Smiles softly* I'm doing a bit better now after that talk. Thanks for asking."

Sakuya:"*Nods* Don't worry we all know how you feel to lose a comrade on the battlefield even I can't get used to losing one of them."

Sakuya:"If you ever feel like you want to talk more and Lindow isn't available I'm here for you."

(Y/n):"*Scratches cheek*T-thanks Sakuya..I appreciate it. Well I'll see you later."

Sakuya:"*Smiles*See you later."

"After that I got in the elevator and hit the lobby I decided to sit down for a little bit until I heard Kota calling my name."

Kota:"Yo! What's up buddy!"

(Y/n):"Hey man what's going on?"

Kota:"Oh nothing much just signed up for a mission."

(Y/n):"Ah I see well that's-"

Kota:"And! I signed you up on the mission as well!"

(Y/n):"........Eh....?"

(Y/n):"Wait! Whoa whoa whoa whoa! What exactly are we going up against?!"

Kota:"Oh..ummm a Kongou. Don't worry with the two of us we can handle this."

(Y/n):"*Sighs* What the heck is a Kongou first off? Second where is this taking place?"

Kota:"From what I can guess it's a mid level Aragami. And we'll be going to the Tranquil Temple."

(Y/n):"Well why not. Let's do this."

Kota:"Heck yeah!"

"I laugh while shaking my head. I go to start stocking up on a few items that could help us in the field."

(Y/n):"Let's see some Recovery Pills, Stun Grenades, uhhh...Oh! Snare Trap, Detox Pill..? Venom Trap? Okay makes sense I guess..and I'm good to go."

Kota:"Yo. You ready to go?"

(Y/n):"*Nods* Yeah I'm good to go."

Kota:"Nice. You know I'm glad we made it this far. At the end of the day surviving is what counts in this line of work."

(Y/n):"Yeah..what brought this up?"

Kota:"Ahh just thinking is all..besides I don't know what my mom and sister would do if-"

(Y/n):"*Pats Kota's shoulder* Hey come on now don't go thinking like that."

Kota:"*Scratches his cheek* Heh sorry about that.."

(Y/n):"Heh it's fine."

Kota:"Oh yeah just asking on the down low.."

(Y/n):"Hmmm?"

Kota:"Do you know Sakuya?"

(Y/n):"*Nods* Uh...yeah why?"

Kota:"For real? Are you close?"

(Y/n):"W-wait what?"

Kota:"I mean isn't she just smoking hot?! And not just hot, but kind, and sweet and..well hot!"

(Y/n):"*Blushes* Y-yeah.."

"Someone please save me If anyone over hears Kota yelling. Thankfully no one can hear us....or at least hope so."

Kota:"I mean not to mention she's like a Amazon Warrior Maiden! Like damn, she's so fine!"

(Y/n):"*Nods* Yep I couldn't agree more.(I will admit she's very beautiful.)"

Kota:"Hell thinking about her has got me all hyped for this mission!"

Kota:"Speaking of which how about another little contest?"

(Y/n):"*Smirks* Oh ho? Same as last time?"

Kota:"*Smirks as well* You know it. Who ever wins this will get bragging rights. Oh man she'll be all over me when I win this."

(Y/n):"Heh you speak like you already won this contest Kota."

Kota:"Maybe I am. You gonna do something?"

(Y/n):"Oh man now you're asking for it. Bring it on Kota!"

Kota:"Right back at cha buddy!"

3rd Pov
"The two God Eaters were waiting about as they were getting themselves pumped for this contest. With Kota being energetic as always and (Y/n) keeping a cool head about the situation, while waiting for Hibari to give the green light."

Kota:"Well my friend may the best man win.*Holds out his hand*"

(Y/n):"Yeah same here.*Shakes his hand*"

(Y/n):"Though lets be honest we're going to be having this contest again later aren't we?"

Kota:"Heh heh you know it!"

Hibari:"Alright guys your good to go. Good luck out there!"

(Y/n)/Kota:"Right!"

Hibari:"Be careful there's a few Ogretails wandering around this area. Two on the upper levels."

"The two God Eaters nodded at Hibari's words as they slowly walked up the upper levels they saw the Ogretail with its back in front of them all while searching for food. The two God Eaters nodded at each other before running over to the Ogretail giving a few slashes before switching to over to Kota to shoot it a bit before switching back to me. Though the Ogretail tried to catch (Y/n) off guard, but he knew what it was trying to do, so he backed up as it did it's spin attack and once it was done he charged in."

(Y/n):"One! *Slash* Two! *Slashes and backsteps* Switch!"

Kota:"And!...Oh it's done.."

(Y/n):"I guess so..so I think that means one point for me."

Kota:"........CRAP! I forgot about the contest since I focusing on our switching combo!"

(Y/n):"Heh well at least you remember now."

(Y/n):"*Devours the Ogretail and retrieves a core* Cool."

Hibari:"Heads up you two it seems like the Ogretail heard you and is bringing the fight to you."

(Y/n):"Think you can manage this one?"

Kota:"Now I know you're messing with me."

(Y/n):"Mayybe. If you want to prove me wrong start blasting away!"

"(Y/n) jumps and dive devours the Ogretail causing it to stumble a bit, while that was happening (Y/n) landed and slid a few feet away from it, once he came to a stop he quickly turned around to see Kota firing away at the Ogretail who was now trying to get up."

(Y/n):"Alright lets do this!"

"As (Y/n) was about to strike from behind he stopped as he saw the Ogretail was not moving from its spot. He used his God Arc and slowly poked it only for it to fall forward and as (Y/n) looked up he saw Kota give a victory grin like he's won the lottery."

Kota:"Looks like we're tied."

(Y/n):"Yeah just two more to see who wins this."

"You two slowly started to walk up the stairs you immediately stop as you hold your hand up to signal Kota to stop as well. Once you two listen and your ears pick up footsteps coming close by, which you signal Kota to start running back. Once you two did the both of you were hiding until you saw what was coming around the corner."

(Y/n):"(Thank god we pulled back. Last thing we need to do is charge out like idiots.)"

"What came out of the corner was another Ogretail and (Y/n), and Kota were about to engage at until they heard a loud thud causing them to turn around and see the Kongou."

(A/n):"Don't you just hate it when a Aragami that's much harder to kill decides to jump in the same area as you. It's even worse when you're still trying to kill another Aragami your focused on for example: Fallen Chi-you, Dyaus Pita, Fallen Sariel. Cause then you have to either run away cause those said two or even three Aragami's are dog piling you or you are powerful enough to handle it. Well that's just me.

As soon as it stood up it started walking further away from them which left the two contemplating their choices. If they handle the Ogretail now they both know that the Kongou will hear the fight and quickly come to them. So (Y/n) told Kota to move a bit further away from the Ogretail. They hid and peak from another corner and waited for the Ogretail to move far enough for you two move to the third level. Once it did the two quietly made their way to the stairs and they did (Y/n) grabbed a rock big enough to catch its attention."

(Y/n):"*Whispers* Alright on the count of three I'll throw this rock and we'll lead the Ogretail in the more open space over there."

Kota:"*Whispers back* Got it."

(Y/n):"One."

Kota:"Two..."

(Y/n):"Three!*He says then tosses the rock at the Ogretail*"

"Once the rock hits the Ogretail from behind it turns around and spots the two, roaring then coming straight for them. Which made the two God Eaters run further into the open space and once they did they were smirking at each other."

(Y/n):"So you ready for this partner?"

Kota:"Hellz Yeah!"

"Soon they heard loud stomps coming closer to them and then out of the corner came the Ogretail revealing itself to the two. It quickly lunges at the two, only for (Y/n) to get in front of Kota and bring out his shield. It hits him, but pushes him back  a bit. Kota backs away starts firing at the Ogretail which causes it to back away a bit and while that was happening (Y/n) stopped having his shield up and charged at the Ogretail and stabbed its sides as he did that the Ogretail looked like it was about to attack (Y/n) as he still had his God Arc buried in the Ogretail's sides, that is until Kota shot it in head to distract it giving (Y/n) enough time to move forward with his God Arc in hand opening the wound even further until he sliced the Ogretail's sides completely causing it to fall. Once that happened (Y/n) then devoured the Ogretail and retrieved its core."

(Y/n):"Well looks like that's a point for me."

Kota:"Whoa whoa whoa hold the phone! I hit it a few times and I think that last hit really got it!"

(Y/n):"Yeah, but I stabbed its sides and cut it clean."

Kota:"Only after I shot its head!"

(Y/n):"......Alright then let's see who ever kills the Kongou first wins this round."

Hibari:"Hello?"

(Y/n)/Kota:"Yeah Hibari?"

Hibari:"I hate to interrupt you're competition,but you better hurry the Kongou is now making its way up here."

(Y/n):"Understood."

(Y/n):"Kota hide behind this house right here."

Kota:"Right."

"While Kota was taking cover behind the house (Y/n) was keeping watch for the Kongou and soon enough it came from the other side where the other two are. As soon as (Y/n) saw the Kongou he quickly took cover, while sticking his head out a bit seeing where the Kongou would go, Kota doing the same only he could see if the Kongou was heading into the abandoned temple or not. (Y/n) looked at Kota and nodded that it was heading straight for the temple. A few seconds later Kota looks back at (Y/n) signals him that the Kongou is completely inside the temple, making (Y/n) coming over to where Kota is."

(Y/n):"Alright while the Kongou is in there we can form a plan."

Kota:"Right."

(Y/n):"So I'll set a snare trap down and after that we'll start firing away to get its attention after that, we'll lure it to the trap once it runs into it we fire away again.

Kota:"Okay and what happens after the effects of the snare trap wears off?"

(Y/n):"Hmmm...Considering the area we're in..its probably to small for us to fight in. The second level seems pretty spacious so we could use that as a way to maneuver around it."

Kota:"Alright sounds like a plan."

(Y/n):"Alright then let's get this plan started."

"Not wasting any time the two start their plan with (Y/n) setting the Snare Trap down, then him and Kota started firing away at the Kongou with it flinching only to turn around probably angered by the constant shooting its receiving. It got up from its spot and started charging forward towards the two only for it to get caught by the snare trap and immediately the two fire away again at the Kongou just like they planned and a few seconds later the effects of the Snare Trap began to wear off which notified the two God Eaters to start running towards the second level and after a minute or two of running they manage to make it to the middle and wait as hear its stomping's indicating it's getting closer, which made (Y/n) pull out a Stun Grenade for when it's in his view."

Kota:"It's almost here."

(Y/n):"I know."

"A few seconds later it comes within view of the two. Causing Kota to shout."

Kota:"There it is!"

(Y/n):"Right! Hibari!*Throws the stun grenade*"

Hibari:"Deploying stun grenade!"

"As soon as Hibari shouted that the stun grenade stunned the Kongou from sights  which caused the two to charge at the Kongou with a full offense. Kota firing at the Kongou's sides, while (Y/n) was slashing at Kongou's stomach a bit before attacking its Head managing to cause a crack to show, which signals (Y/n) to continue to slash at the Aragami's head. The effects off the Stun Grenade started to wear off which makes (Y/n) deliver one last blow to the head which killed it for good."

(Y/n):"Looks like this a win for*Takes God Arc out of the Kongou* me."

Kota:"Well the win would have gone to
me if we weren't shooting that Ogretail at the same time!"

(Y/n):"Well a wins a win. So for now we're at a tie with our contest."

Kota:"Fine but! I will win the next match!"

(Y/n):"Heh heh..We'll see about that Kota."

(Y/n):"(Oh right gotta devour this things core!)"

"After (Y/n) devoured the Kongou's core, him and Kota went back to their spot so they can return home to base, and once they did they went to Hibari who congratulated them on mission well done. They were about to leave until Hibari called out to them."

Hibari:"Actually Dr.Sakaki want you two meet him in his room."

(Y/n):"Alright thanks Hibari."

Hibari:"*Smiles* Your welcome. I'll see you two next time."

"(Y/n) and Kota are now in the room with Dr.Sakaki who's about to give the boys another lesson."

Dr.Sakaki:"Let us begin with a concept. Arcology."

Dr.Sakaki:"In essence, a building completely self-contained. But that's not all. Self-sufficient as well, both in production and consumption therein."

(Y/n):"Hmm.."

Dr.Sakaki:"Of course the best example is here. The Fenrir Far East Branch, with the Den at its core, is an Arcology."

Dr.Sakaki:"In any situation, no matter how extreme, we could survive it alone."

(Y/n):"Even If Fenrir collapses?"

Dr.Sakaki:"Yes even if it all fell apart we could still live."

(Y/n):"*Whispers* Amazing..."

Dr.Sakaki:"Our status as an Arcology would to ensure that we could live on just as before. Eat, work, and fight based on our own production."

Dr.Sakaki:"Beneath the Den is a fully equipped plant that produces food, God Arcs, and any other necessities for the people in the branch."

Kota:"*Silently Yawns*"

Dr.Sakaki:"Atop of it all we are supremely defended. An Anti-Aragami Wall lines the perimeter, and we boast the strongest God Eaters squadrons."

Dr.Sakaki:"That in a nutshell, is the Far East. A powerful and complex Arcology optimized solely for the protection of humankind."

(Y/n):"(Yet Fenrir still has its number of issues.)"

Dr.Sakaki:"Foremost among those issues is that we can't House all our citizens."

Dr.Sakaki:"I'm certain you've seen the vast Outer Ghetto. A collection of ramshackle housing that lies just beyond the core of the branch."

Kota:"(Mom, Sis..)"

(Y/n):"(Yeah..everyone back at the Orphanage...)"

Dr.Sakaki:"We would love to have those who can't fend for themselves inside, but sadly we just don't have the room to accommodate."

(Y/n):"(That's a bit messed up..)"

Dr.Sakaki:"I'm afraid the most we can do is surround the Outer Ghetto with a larger Anti-Aragami wall. Our options are limited."

Kota:"I'm not sure that's enough. The armor has been breached a whole lot lately. Never bad but still...."

Dr.Sakaki:"Which is why we have the Defense Unit stationed there. Our strongest shield."

Dr.Sakaki:"Oh! Goodness me, you two were born in the in the Outer Ghetto."

Dr.Sakaki:"I apologize I did not mean to dismiss your fears so lightly."

Kota:"Oh no! It's not a problem."

(Y/n):"Same here."

Dr.Sakaki:"We has future plans to expand the Den. We were going to build another layer down for new residents."

Kota:"But it never came through. The Aegis Project picked up, and that's suppose to make us all much safer anyways."

(Y/n):"(Suppose to?)"

Dr.Sakaki:"Well yes exactly. At this time a massive majority of Far East resources and the underground plant are being dedicated to helping construct the Aegis."

Dr.Sakaki:"Though I think that should be a topic for another time. Class dismissed."

"Once the lesson was over Kota and (Y/n) were now walking the their rooms about ready to go to bed."

Kota:"Well that was a good mission buddy."

(Y/n):"Yeah. Hopefully we get to go on more missions in the future."

Kota:"Yeah same here. Well I'll see you tomorrow."

(Y/n):"Yeah goodnight Kota."

"Soon after saying goodnight to Kota, (Y/n) changed into his sleep clothes and laid in his bed slowly drifting off into sleep."
