So on our last chapter (Y/n) made several new friends and had a nightmare of his young days where he witness his parents death and managed to escape with an elder man. So now he's going on his very first mission with Lindow! How will our new young God Eater handle this? Will he live and continue to fight? Or will his first mission be his last?

Let's see by starting this chapter now!

"You belong to yourself."

(Y/n) Pov

"As we wait about on a somewhat small cliff, Lindow decides to brake the silence, I guess it's obvious that I'm a bit nervous."

Lindow:"Sheesh this place has certainly seen better days."

(Y/n):"Mmm."

Lindow:"Alright rook, today we'll be getting some hands-on experience."

(Y/n):"......"

Lindow:"Rook."

(Y/n):"Y-yes!?"

Lindow:"Look like I said there's no reason to worry, I'm here to back you up."

(Y/n):"*Breathes in and then breathes out slowly* Right sorry about that Lindow."

Lindow:"Don't worry follow these big rules and you'll be fine."

(Y/n):"Right."

Lindow:"Don't die. If you're in danger, frikkin run. And last rule hide...well not so much hide, but use cover. Stealth wins fights."

Lindow:"...Wait is that four big rules then?"

Lindow:"Well bottom line Survive. Actually, yeah let's just have one big rule survive."

(Y/n):"Heh right."

Lindow:"Alright (Y/n). Let's give these Aragami's hell."

"Once we got done with our whole survival guide, we jump down off the small cliff and land on the ground safely. After our landing I hear a voice through my earpiece."

Hibari:"Hey there."

(Y/n):"Hibari?"

Hibari:"Yep! This is our first Field Op together. I'm so excited to work with you. Now let's get out there!"

(Y/n):"Right!"

Lindow:"For our first mission we'll tackling an Ogretail today. A basic hunting mission. Fingers crossed."

"We decided to go right and once we walk further we see it an Ogretail."

Lindow:"Remember stay calm and analyze their movements and attack when you see an opening."

(Y/n):"Right!"

Hibari:"(Y/n) be careful with Ogretails as simple as they are, they have several things to attack you."

(Y/n):"And what that be?"

Hibari:"It will try to lunge at you when it has the chance, and if you get to close to it, it will try spin in hopes to smack you away from it."

(Y/n):"Anything else?"

Hibari:"It will use it's tail to shoot projectiles at you so be safe."

(Y/n):"Got it."

"After I End the conversation with Hibari the Ogretail lunges at us, only for us to dodge it. I go in and manage to get a few strikes in before backing away as it spun around hoping to hit me."

(Y/n):"Whoa..(Lindow was right this is as simple as it gets. This is kinda easy once you get the hang of it, but I'm am definitely going into the training room after this!)"

Lindow:"Hey (Y/n) how are you holding up!?"

(Y/n):"Good!(I'm swinging like it's so natural!)"

"Lindow delivers a few blows to the back since it was facing me after its attempt to hit me with its twirl attack, and after he did that the Ogretail was howling in pain only for me strike it horizontally and then as quickly as I can go and deliver a blow to the head and after that it fell down on the ground."

(Y/n):"Did...huff...we...huff...beat it?"

Lindow:"Yep we did. And I'll say this you did well out there for your first time. I mean it nice job (Y/n)."

(Y/n):"*Smiles*..huff...
Thank you."

Hibari:"Congrats on neutralizing the Aragami (Y/n)."

(Y/n):"Heh thanks Hibari."

"After that Lindow showed me how to devour, as well as pulling out my shield so when I need to defend from any Aragami's attacks I'll know how to do it. The only thing I need to figure out is how to switch my God Arc from Melee to Gun."

(Y/n):"Lindow is okay if I get this?"

Lindow:"Go ahead this your victory. You earned it."

(Y/n):"*Nods and then devours the Ogretail* Huh I got something."

Lindow:"Oh those are materials. You can use some them to better your God Arc."

(Y/n):"I see. Cool."

"We continue to chat until we hear our ride and soon head back to base leaving me smiling at my first mission that was successful."

Lindow:"Someone's happy."

(Y/n):"A-Ah yeah I can't stop smiling after that.(It sounds weird when I say it out loud.)"

Lindow:"Heh see I told you, you'd have nothing to worry about and more so you looked like a natural out there."

(Y/n):"Yeah thanks Lindow."

Lindow:"No problem (Y/n)."

"We reach Fenrir and soon separate with Lindow taking the elevator, leaving me to go to Hibari to see her smiling at me."

Hibari:"Hey (Y/n) welcome back and congrats on completing your very first mission!"

(Y/n):"*Rubs the back of his neck* Heh it was nothing really just me doing what I need to do. But you were an amazing operator!"

Hibari:"*Blushes* Aww gee thanks..."

(Y/n):"*Nods* Your welcome! I hope to continue to get your support!"

Hibari:"Y-yeah! Don't worry I'll be there support you and every other God Eater!"

(Y/n):"Yeah!"

Hibari:"Oh before I forget. Dr.Sakaki wanted to see you as well."

(Y/n):"Hmm..Okay then. Thanks Hibari! I'll see you later!*Waves and starts walking towards the elevator*"

Hibari:"*Waves back* See ya!"

"Me and Kota we're sitting down listening to Dr.Sakaki as we were about to learn the basis of Aragami's and more."

Dr.Sakaki:"Okay so why don't we go ahead and jump in! What you think an Aragami is?"

(Y/n):"Umm..."

Dr.Sakaki:"Well a lot of words come to mind when thinking of Aragami's. Such as "the apex predator," "the devourer of mankind," "Gods given flesh."

(Y/n):"Hmmm...(Hell we even came up with our own definition for them. I guess that just goes to show how much feared they installed into us.)"

Dr.Sakaki:"Well in a way those are all right, in a way. These phrases, while dramatic, aren't misconceptions."

Dr.Sakaki:"Rather, you could say they simply evolve from wonderment." The speaker clearly has their eyes fixed on the phenomena before them."

Dr.Sakaki:"Today we will be striving for a deeper answer. Tell me, have you two ever wondered from whence the Aragami came from?"

(Y/n):"Umm..Haven't most of our history books tried explaining this?"

Dr.Sakaki:"Yes. They tell us that they just appeared. As if they just formed from the air itself. Ever since then their numbers have continually grown."

(Y/n):"Isn't it in someway tampering with the evolutionary?"

Dr.Sakaki:"Yes! It's as if they are tearing through the very core of evolutionary process!"

Kota:"*Yawns* Hey.."

(Y/n):"Hmmm?"

Kota:"Does this lecture have some kinda point to it? Isn't our job mainly to kill them? I mean what does it matter where they came from?"

(Y/n):"Well I-!!!"

Kota:"What's up?"

Dr.Sakaki:"What's up is that it does matter."

Kota:"Whoa!!*He says while jumping a bit."

Dr.Sakaki:"Aragami's have no heart. Neither do they have a brain, or a digestive system, or spinal fluids."

(Y/n):"(Then do they have anything that's my question?)"

Dr.Sakaki:"As humans we are very frail, one powerful strike to the chest would cripple or even kill us. But no, no that won't take down an Aragami."

Dr.Sakaki:"You See, these beasts are clusters of Oracle Cells, each individually a single cell organism of its own, ever devouring the others."

Dr.Sakaki:"Mad? Ha! Maybe, but each Aragami is a colony of hundreds, nay thousands of individual life forms. Each one striving to survive."

Kota:"Whoa..."

(Y/n):"(Holy shit...)"

Dr.Sakaki:"And this dangerous, deadly, elegant fusion of cells cannot be destroyed by simple weapons. Oh no they are impervious to it."

Dr.Sakaki:"So then the question arises with how can we survive? What can we do to eliminate a powerful predator?"

(Y/n):"Isn't by slashing at them a lot with your God Arc?"

Kota:"Or shooting them as well?"

Dr.Sakaki:"Yes! Yes! A God Arc is a biological weapon infused with the same Oracle Cells that reside in a Aragami's body. That's the key."

(Y/n)/Kota:"Heh heh*While fist bumping*"

Dr.Sakaki:"But cutting or shooting them won't do much good. Rouge cells will grow and heal, or possibly worse form a more threatening creature to defeat."

Dr.Sakaki:"No, there is only one way to ensure victory..tearing out the core. The cells that serve a a control center."

(Y/n):"(Huh so there core is basically is what keeps them alive..)"

Dr.Sakaki:"Though of course, a task like that is challenging to say the least."

(Y/n):"So even with our God Arcs theres no actual guarantee that we'll be able to strike them with a fatal blow?"

Dr.Sakaki:"Precisely. During some point people recognized these monsters and their immortality, the sports of many Gods once worshipped here."

(Y/n):"(And of course over time we now called them what they are known as "Aragami".)"

Dr.Sakaki:"Well I believe this is a good place to hold for today."

Dr.Sakaki:"For your Assignment please refer to the Norn database for more history on the Aragami. Dismissed."

In Kota's Room

Kota's Pov

"After our whole lecture was over thank god i can't sit for long when it comes to those types of things, but thanks to my buddy (Y/n) here he'll help me if I miss anything. So we're now in my room as I'm getting ready to set up some Bugarally for us to watch."

Kota:"*Streches* Mmm..man! That was some lecture.."

(Y/n):"Heh tell me about. Though the little history lesson was good."

Kota:"Yeah. But hey! Now get to unwind for a bit, and you know what that means?"

(Y/n):"?"

Kota:"Time to watch some Bugarally!"

(Y/n):"I've been meaning to ask, what is Bugarally?"

"I was so baffled when I heard (Y/n) say that. That I couldn't help, but grab him by the shoulders and look him dead in the eyes to see if he was joking. And sadly he wasn't joking."

Kota:"*Starts shaking you a bit* What?! You've never heard of Bugarally before?"

(Y/n):"Uhhh..no what is it? A brand of clothing?"

Kota:"Wha? No, no, no it's an amazing Tv show! Heck my clothes are designed from the show!"

(Y/n):"Wow..really? That's pretty impressive if I do say so myself."

Kota:"Heh thanks. Now with that out of the way let's start watching some good ol Bugarally!"

"Once I started the show I was watching with so much excitement that I couldn't contain myself, though I was also watching (Y/n)'s expression to see how he would react, and what started from confusion to pure shock in awe as he was kinda leaning in a bit waiting to see what happens next. This went on for a good half hour until (Y/n) decided to get up and stretch out."

(Y/n):"mmmhmm..ahhh..man that was possibly the best show I've seen in my life*You say while brushing some of your (H/c) off you're eyes.*"

Kota:"I know right! I'm still shocked that you've never seen or heard of this show before?"

(Y/n):"Oh..well that's because I really didn't have television and even if we did most of the times the adults would be using it for important reasons."

Kota:"We?..."

(Y/n):"*Nods* Yeah..my family lived in the Outer Ghetto and I lost my parents to an Aragami. Luckily a older looking man came by and saved me from the beast. Ever since then I've lived most of my life in a orphanage with plenty of other kids that had lost their parents too."

Kota:"Oh..man..I'm sorry about your loss..."

(Y/n):"Hey. It's fine. My wounds have healed a little bit."

Kota:"A little?"

(Y/n):"Yeah...I still have the same reoccurring nightmares of that same scene at times."

Kota:"Wow..."

"It was all I could say I mean heck I worry about my family every single day. Staying optimistic that they're safe, which I'm grateful for, but him he lost his family and gained another one with the orphanage. I can only image or at the very least take a guess at what he's going through."

(Y/n):"But I guess if anything there is a somewhat bright side to all of this."

Kota:"Oh yeah and what would that be?"

(Y/n):"That I now have the strength to protect the ones I care about the most my family and my friends. Well I guess extra family now that my time is here in the Den heh heh."

Kota:"Heh heh. I guess we can relate with something."

(Y/n):"What?"

Kota:"Our families."

(Y/n):"Families...Wait you mean..?"

Kota:"Yeah my mom and young sister live in the Outer Ghetto's as well."

(Y/n):"Seriously? Huh..heh heh..yeah we can relate with something."

Kota:"Mmhmm. To protect those we love and care about."

(Y/n):"And to quickly make this world peaceful so that everyone can sleep easy."

Kota:"Hell yeah! We'll knock some Aragami tail!"

(Y/n):"Yeah! Let's show those Aragami's who their messing with right partner?"

Kota:"Right buddy! With the two of us working together we'll be done by then!"

"After that the two of us do a handshake while we smile at each other giving us a determined goal and a strengthening what seemed like a good friendship that I hope will last."

(Y/n):"*Loosens the handshake* Well I'm gonna go ahead and turn in from here. When we get the opportunity we should watch some more Bugarally again."

Kota:"Yeah totally! I told you, you would love it."

(Y/n):"Okay okay its a good show.*Opens Kota's door* Alright man I'll see you later."

Kota:"Same to you (Y/n). Let's try and get some missions together."

(Y/n):"*Nods and gives a thumbs up* Yeah."

(Y/n) Pov

"After me and Kota say our goodbyes for tonight I open my door and close it and soon switch into a (F/c) tank top and black shorts and immediately lay in my bed as I wrap the covers around me. I turn around and look the ceiling and think to myself."

(Y/n):"Hmm I honestly didn't think I would open like that towards Kota. Maybe because he gives off that feeling like I can trust him."

(Y/n):"Well either way the both of us are fighting for something that we want to protect. And it's like Lindow said.."

Quick Flashback

Lindow:"Bottom line I want you to be someone I know who's got my back. And in the end I'll have yours."

Flashback over

(Y/n):"Right if I want to survive I need to have my teammates, my partners, my friends, my family with me for the fight. I can't be a one man army, need to have faith and trust with my allies and make sure they can trust me as well."

(Y/n):"Man..now I kinda want to watch more Bugarally now..."

"After a few more minutes of tossing and turning in my bed I manage to fall asleep and thankfully no nightmares though then again like I said to Kota I have these nightmares from time to time it's very rare for me to have it again."

"I wake up due to my alarm clock going off. I manage to hit the snooze button for the first time as it takes me a few tries due to me getting out of my sleep stasis and having my eyes adjust."

(Y/n):"*Yawns and puts his feet on the ground* Another day, another fight. Heh heh."

"I manage to push myself off the bed heading straight for the showers."

"(Side note. Yes I know there is no bathroom in the God Eater games. Hell I haven't seen a Cafeteria or few other things that is probably shown more in the anime then the game. But hey let's just roll with it and add some stuff in the story.)"

"After finish showering and drying myself off completely I head to the Cafeteria and grab whatever I can get so, I get the basic things and head out to see where I can sit until see Kota waving for me to come to where he's at which made me walk to his table."

Kota:"Morning!"

(Y/n):"Good morning to you."

Kota:"You sleep well last night?"

(Y/n):"Yeah...though I for some reason I wanted to watch more Bugarally.."

Kota:"Hahaha! See I told ya you'd love it!"

(Y/n):"Heh yeah."

Kota:"So got any plans for today?"

(Y/n):"Ehh..not much, probably train for a bit, and then try my hand at another mission."

Kota:"Nice."

(Y/n):"What about you?"

Kota:"Probably Same as you, then watch some Bugarally. You interested in watching more?"

(Y/n):"Heh maybe. I'll see after the mission."

Kota:"Alright then welp I'll see ya later then buddy!"

(Y/n):"See ya man."

"After we finished up our breakfast we went back to the lobby with Kota going to sit on the couches. Leaving me on my own, so I go to Hibari only to see some guy with brown hair talking to her."

Hibari:"Oh hey (Y/n)."

(Y/n):"Yo. What's up Hibari."

???:"So your the New Type everyone is going on about."

(Y/n):"Yeah the names (Y/n). Who are you?"

???:"Oh right! Names Tatsumi nice to meet you (Y/n)! I look forward to going on missions with you in the future."

(Y/n):"Yeah same here."

Hibari:"So (Y/n), have you come here to accept a mission?"

(Y/n):"Possibly later right now I would like to go and get some practice in.

Hibari:"Alright. Well if you want to know where to go I would have Ms.Tsubaki help guide you there so you don't get lost."

(Y/n):"Right. Thanks you. I'll see you two later."

Both:"See ya!"

"After that I went to go find Ms.Tsubaki and ask her if I can train which she said yes to and took me to go and train."
