Taken away

Long ago, life was peaceful, simple, safe. But then, the unexpected happened. People began manifesting superpowers. These individuals that were given the power to be more, became more, but in a very bad way. They became criminals, unstoppable by all who may appose them. And as more and more time passed, these powers became more and more common, as did these criminals. This, unsurprisingly, caused mass hysteria to plague the world. As fear became more and more rampant, someone needed to step in and stop it, if they didn't, society would crumble. And so, they did.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

A family of 3 greenette's sit in a white walled room. This is the Midoriya family. Inko and Hisashi are with their son, Izuku, at the pediatrician's office, waiting to learn of Izuku's superpower, or quirk. In any other situation, this would be a day of wonder, but this was not one of those situations. For in the world they live in, society hates superpowers.

Even though 80% of the human race is blessed with abilities beyond one's wildest imagination, most are actually fairly weak. And that is the hope of the 3, waiting for results of the youngest members quirk. For if he has power, society, or in reality, the government will see to it that it is never given the opportunity to be used.

You see, if Izuku has a weak quirk, one that won't be seen as a threat, one that can be dealt with, he would get to stay with his loving family and live a life full of happiness.

But if he has a strong quirk, one that can be used to harm, one that can make the user unstoppable, the child is taken, never to be seen again by their family. Not they aren't killed, but some argue it is worse. The government takes and 'reconditions' the strong kids. By the time they are adults, they are released into the world, broken shells of the lively youths they once were. Some don't even remember that they have quirks. And why does this happen?

Because surprise! Surprise! Reconditioning, is just a fancy word for mental torture. Breaking the child and rebuilding them in a way they like better. Some turn out to be model citizens, and some are forgotten, but they are never known for crime.

Back with the family, the parents are holding their son, who began breaking down and crying in fear, his parents silently crying with him. Because odds are, Izuku will be dangerous. Genetics are a large part of a quirk, certain genes changing the power possessed by someone. Inko has telekinesis, but it was greatly weakened due to the fact no one uses their gifts. Hisashi was born with fire breath, and because the most he could do was cause slight irritation, and could be dealt with, he was deemed weak. But telekinesis and fire of any kind is bound to create something new, something stronger. And the unpredictability is what scared them.

As they held each other, the doctor finally returned, having been gone for almost half and hour, holding a small piece of paper. His eyes held a terrifying blank look. He took his seat and cleared his throat, gaining the attention of the family in front of him.

"Good evening." He greets, his voice quivering a bit.

"I-I'm so s-sorry for t-this, we're just so scared. W-Would you mind giving us s-some t-t-tissues?" Inko asks whilst sniffling. But her eyes grew wide with his answer.

"I'm sorry ma'am, but... T-They wouldn't be of any use." He replies, his once blank eyes now glistening, the quiver in his voice becoming more pronounced. He then revealed a small device that had only a button. When he presses said button, there is an audible 'click' on both sides of the room. When the family starts looking around, now feeling more fear then they have in their entire 4 years together, the doctor tells them the dreaded news.

"Izuku, your quirk is...is...pyrokinesis. The power to create and control fire. You... You've been deemed a threat." Tears were now openly falling from his eyes. This was his first time breaking the news to a family and it was destroying him inside. The eyes of all 3 grew wider than humanly possible when he said this, Izuku beginning to hyperventilate. As his parents tried calming him down, the door behind the doctor showed a bright green light above it for a moment and 3 men, each wearing black suits entered the room, immediately getting to work as they grabbed Inko and Hisashi, pulling their arms away from Izuku, who was frozen in fear.

Then he felt a prick. He looked at his arm to see the other man holding a needle, injecting the contents into Izuku's arm. Izuku snapped of it and tried to run to the open, but when he moved he noticed he was tired, very tired, as his world faded, giving way to the enclosing darkness.

His parents screamed to, punching and kicking at the men to no avail, watching helplessly as their child was legally abducted before their eyes. The man dealing with Izuku picked him up effortlessly, and strolls out the door, never leaving a trace of emotion. After he was gone, the other 2 quickly followed, shoving the parents out of the door and leaving through the other, the green light above now flashing red.

The distraught parents ran outside to see multiple vans leaving, the parking lot, one of which contained their son, but there was nothing they could do, and it killed their hearts. They then turned around and began to walk back to their car to return home, because it was the only thing they could do, because what had just happened to their kids was condoned by the government.

On the way to their car, they saw 2 familiar faces on the curb, crying just as hard as they were. These faces were Mitsuki and Masaru Bakugo. They were crying because they too had just had their child, Katsuki, ripped from their arms. The grieving families began trying to comfort each other, failing as they began reminiscing about the memories they had made with their kids.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Izuku begins to slowly wake up due to a feeling of pressure on his arms. With darkness in the corners of his eyes, he looks at his arms to see hands gripping him tightly, as if he would shatter if dropped. This small act stole away the rest of Izuku's energy as he passed out once again.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

He was awakened once again, this time due to a loud noise. Before he is able to comprehend anything, he is thrown onto the cold concrete floor. He looks weakly at who threw him. It was a man with a bulky vest and a rifle.

Before Izuku could speak any words to the man, he spoke. "Welcome to your new home, ya little monster." He says coldly as he closes a cell door. Izuku, now in complete isolation, looks around and sees he only has a small bed and a toilet, with a small curtain dangling in front of it. He walked to the bed and laid on it, it was hard, and then he cried. His life as he knew it was over simply because of the fact he was born.

His parents had married, shared years of their lives, and created Izuku, just to have him taken away because of something no one had any control over.

He is Izuku Midoriya.

5 years old.

Prisoner.
