First Session
"AAAHHHHHH!"
This is the noise that cut through the quiet morning air as Izuku wakes up from the equivalent to a lucid nightmare. He had just been taken and he was already having nightmares. He was in that room again, fully aware of what was and what was going to happen to him, but no matter what he did, no matter how much he cried, screamed, tried to move, nothing changed, as he was forced to see everything in stunning detail. The creasing on his dads face from furrowing his brows. The bags under his mothers eyes, who hadn't gotten any sleep the night before. The cracking stoic facade held by the doctor and the needle piercing his skin.
The only reason he could tell it was morning was because he could see a little bit of morning light through the cell bars. He then started crying. You see, Izuku, even though he was only 4, was never one for denial, he never tried to lie to himself, until the events that happened yesterday, that is. He lied to himself for the first time, wanting desperately to believe that he was imagining things, or that it was a dream, or a prank, but no. The small needle mark on his arm and the fact he was in a cell instead of his comfy bed confirmed his sad reality. It weighed on him like an elephant, crushing his spirit, taking the air from his lungs and cancelling his breathing.
And then a noise caught his attention. It was a small metallic 'clang' and something was tossed through the cell door. That something was a small lunch box. Even though Izuku didn't want to take it, he was starving, so he ran to it like a scared cat, attempting to take it without being seen. Although, he soon realized it was a fruitless endeavor, as there was a camera in the corner of the cell. So he grabbed the lunch box and opened it, finding some food and one bottle of water. It was enough, nutritionally, but he and his feeders knew he would still be hungry when finished.
He would complain, until the words said to him the previous night rang through his skull. "Welcome to your new home, ya little monster." He remembered sadly. If they were going to call him a monster, they were probably going to treat him like one too. He ate silently and slowly, saving a small portion for later.
He got up and began walking to the bed, bringing whatever he planned on saving for later with him, when a voice played through a hidden speaker within the cell. "Hello Izuku." The voice echoed through the quiet room, startling the youth. Before he could say anything, she continued. "My name doesn't matter, therefore, you may simply call me Doctor. I was assigned to your reconditioning, and it is customary to alert your patients before sessions. In roughly 30 minutes, we'll begin our first session, so be prepared." She finished, leaving Izuku shaking. The tone she used, or lack there of, was cold, lifeless, like she forgot she was talking to a kid. But then again, the way she said it sounded professional, all business. She's done this before.
For the next 30 minutes, 10 of which he spent calming his skyrocketing nerves, he heard rattling by the door. He looked up to see the same armed man from the previous night, unlocking his door with a long key. And then, the door swung open, and the man entered, reaching for Izuku, who involuntarily flinched. This upset the man. "Listen here boy! You better show me some respect, or I'll make your wretched existence even more miserable! Now get, before I drag you there!" He screamed, making Izuku begin to cry, making the man even angrier. And unfortunately, he kept his words, grabbing Izuku's foot and pulling him along, dragging his body across the floor until they reached a door. The man dropped Izuku's leg, and when he did so, Izuku shot up and tried to run, only to be grabbed by the scruff of his neck. He then heard the click of the door opening as he was thrust into the room.
The door closed and locked behind him, as he stood, rubbing the pain away from his landing. He looked away from his body and straight ahead, where he saw her. A woman with fiery red hair, a white over coat, and a clip board in her hand sitting in a chair behind her. She seemed to be reading whatever was on the other side of the board when she spoke to him.
"Good morning Izuku." She spoke with the same dead tone.
"Y-You're the uh, Doctor, right?" He asked sheepishly. Even before this, he was never very sociable.
"Indeed. The man who 'escorted' you here is named Eric. He's a transfer from America, and he is also your caretaker, so try not to upset him." She warned before standing and walking to Izuku. He instinctively took a step back, but she tried to assure him. "Don't worry, I'm just leading you to your seat. No reason to be afraid." She said, taking another step forward, and this time, Izuku stood still, until she was right in front of him. She slowly reached for his arm, and right before she made contact, her hand began to glow a deep purple, and when she grabbed him, his eyes turned into the same shade of purple as she led him to his seat. Izuku however, was unaware any of it was happening.
He was experiencing Hell.
For him, the moment she touched him, he was sent to a city filled with flames, screams, and blood. He looked around completely stunned and terrified of the scene in front of him, and he shot around as he heard a voice behind him. He screamed when he saw a large figure, completely engulfed in flames standing behind him screaming incoherently, before falling to the ground motionless, the flames having done their damage. And then another voice rang out, and even though he was in blistering heat, hearing it caused his blood to run cold.
"HISASHI! NOOOOO!" His mothers voice called out to the charred outline of her late husband. He looked to his mother and screamed. Not only was his mother there...he was too. His hands covered in fire matching the color of the flames currently consuming the city. He eyes were shrunken and bloodshot, his face and hair matted with blood, dry and fresh.
He was the one who caused this destruction, this death. He was the one that had just ended his fathers life.
His mother turned back to look at him and began screaming, her words muffled by the sound of smoldering and crumbling building, as well as the seemingly endless screams. When she finished, Izuku, the bad one that is, responded, his voice almost cutting through chaos. But from what Izuku could hear, the only recognizable emotion in his voice was hatred. Whatever he said made his mother flinch and begin to cry. And then evil Izuku started laughing, lifting his hand to face her as the fire on it grew larger and more powerful.
And then, for a moment, the chaos ceased to exist, replaced by a void that seemed to absorb everything audible, before he heard the final thing this messed up version of him had to say to his own mother.
"I never loved you." He said quietly, while still making sure she heard, before unleashing a torrent of flames to devour her. He began laughing whilst continuing to burn her, finding amusement in watching her fight desperately for her life against the fire storm aimed directly at her.
His laughter died with his mother. He then turned his attention to Izuku, flashing a sinister, downright evil smile, before aiming at him. The flames shot from his hand, propelling themselves straight at Izuku, but instead of hitting him, it hit something in front of him. And whatever the invisible lifesaving object was began to burn. And like a piece of paper, the entire world burned away as he found himself sitting in a chair within an office, sweating profusely and twitching violently. He had also noticed that his ears were ringing and his breathing was fast and shallow.
He looked around, studying his environment, almost not believing what he was seeing was real. Until his eyes landed on a red head, scribbling notes onto a piece of paper. And then, she noticed him staring at her. "Oh, you're back?" She asked innocently. This caused Izuku to snap.
"What. Was. THAT!? WHERE WAS I!? WHY WAS I DOING THOSE THINGS!? WHY DID I HURT MOM AND DAD!? WHY-WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME!?" He screamed at the top of his lungs, ripping his throat raw. He had begun crying tears laced with way to many emotions. The Doctor was completely unaffected by his outburst.
"That was you. Or at least, what you would've been. You're a threat, dangerous, powerful, and you'd become a monster if we didn't step in. You-" She was cut off.
"AND HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT!? I'M 5! WHO AM I GONNA HURT!? WHY DID YOU SHOW ME THAT!?" Izuku screamed again, this time, his voice sounding scratchy and painful. The Doctor was not amused.
"If you do that again, it'll be even worse next time!" She yelled back raising her voice, silencing Izuku. "As I was saying, you would be corrupted by power, as everyone strong has been. Which is why we are doing this, for the greater good of everyone, including you! So make this easier on everyone, and do as we say. Okay?" She asked.
"...No! I'm not dangerous, I won't hurt anyone! I won't even use my quirk, I just want to go home! Please!" Izuku cried, hoping she would understand. Unfortunately, his pleas fell on deaf ears.
"Subject needs stronger examples. Okay! That wraps this up! Eric! Take him back!" She called to the guard outside. She said the first thing to herself.
Eric entered the room and grabbed Izuku by the arm, and this time, Izuku silently walked with him, taking the advice of the Doctor. He was led back to his cell and tossed in, a much softer toss then the first time. Izuku sat on his bed and shivered.
The though of him doing this until he was 18 sent chills down his spine. The only bright side was that the sessions happened only in 2 week increments, so he wouldn't have to go through that again until 2 weeks.
"How am I gonna get through this?" He asked himself.
The better question being: Can he?
