Baku-squad is a go?
Your new group of friends met up at an arcade Bakugou swore was the only one worth going to in all of Japan. It was close to his house and he held most, if not all of the records at each game, each time he went to let off steam he beat his records. He knew almost every game down to each involuntary glitch they had from years of use. He was the king of his school before UA and whenever he'd come here his little followers would tag along. He hadn't seen the two boys that he could consider 'friends' since he got into UA. Knowing them they were probably smoking somewhere now that Bakugou wasn't there to keep their behaviors on the right track.
You were dressed pretty casual, you had on a pair of light wash ripped jeans that hugged your curves just right as well as a loose fitting black and red cropped shirt and grey high tops with gold plated accents, the dark colors contrasting with your bright hair. Your hair was down and the wind blew through the strands tousling them slightly. Hatsume went over to your home and changed clothes as well, instead of her usual overalls she was wearing an oversized green sweater tied at the waist and a black leather skirt. She had long grey socks and her usual oil covered tennis-shoes with the laces undone and her steam punk goggles on like always as well as her trusty deep brown tool belt.
Kaminari had a change of clothes as well, leaving them at your house so that after training he'd be able to shower and change. He was clad in a gold shirt with some random saying you didn't get the need for and had a black jacket over top. He was wearing grey joggers and low topped golden boots to match his shirt. He liked to call this his 'Lady Killer' outfit and Hatsume almost died in laughter when he called it that. Telling him how he was "as smooth as 20 grit sandpaper." To which he had no response, not even understanding the insult and yet still whining about her being a mean gear-head.
You were amazed at how everyone's street clothes looked, just like the hero costumes it was way easier to see peoples personalities through their clothing than the uniforms. Mina was dressed flamboyantly like you'd expected. Her bright style fit her personality perfectly. She was wearing jean shorts that stood out against her pink skin as well as an off the shoulder hot pink top that said acid in shiny black lettering. She had on colorful patterned thigh high socks that went perfectly with her skin, it was not a clash of color, you thought it looked pretty awesome. She also had on shoes meant for dancing, she'd mentioned she liked dancing and with her clothing choice you could see how these clothes were perfect to dance in. She looked like the people from videos you'd watched.
Sero was wearing an oversized black sweatshirt with a tribal pattern adorning a strip across the front that was scrunched up to expose his elbows. You'd assumed he had to do that wit all his clothes or his quirk would be useless. I mean if that's the drawback of his quirk, it's definitely less shitty than yours or a lot of other people's. He was wearing some type of tanned joggers that were made out of what looked to be a light canvas and had flat boating shoes on as well. Sero seemed to have that laid back yet goofy vibe and you thought he looked way cooler outside of school, plus his quirk was one of the more multifaceted ones in class which was cool. His smile was bright as he teased Bakugou-at a distance- with the aid of Kirishima.
Kirishima was wearing a tight white workout shirt, it was just tight enough to see the outline of his muscles, something you knew he wasn't shy about showing off. HE also had on black jean shorts with a chain hooking from a belt loop and to his pocket. He had on a black bomber jacket with crimson red dragons going up each sleeve, matching his spiked hair perfectly. On his forehead he had on a sweat band bandana thingie that with his bright sharp toothed smile, looked so Kirishima and so adorable. At the top corner of the black headband there were bright red initials of C.R. A smile adorned your features as Kirishima was practically dragging a pouting Bakugou all the while the bright smile never left his features as he, Sero, and Bakugou conversed with Mina chiming in animatedly.
Bakugou was the only surprise, you expected him to just show up in sweatpants since he didn't want to come but he looked so put together. I guess his desire to be the best at everything was also including his clothing. When Kayama was trying to introduce you into the world of fashion she'd had you watch a few fashion shows online but you'd gotten bored and turned them off. Why did people watch other people wear clothes, it seemed like a completely useless pastime when you could be training or doing literally anything else so you'd ignored them. But seeing Bakugou, even when his face was pissed enough to remind you of a piranha about to attack, he looked like he walked off the runway.
He was wearing a slightly loose tan t-shirt with some mountain logo or something on it, and then a cool shiny bomber jacket over top with roses and tigers and other cool designs strewn throughout. He had on black jeans that were riding low, super low-on his waist, to the point they were sagging and yet still seemed like they were made to fit him perfectly. He had a black hat on backwards and matching black high tops tied loosely.
Mina smiled brightly in greeting and bounded up to you.
"Wow [N/N]-chan, Hatsu-chan you guys look awesome! Your street clothes are totally cute."
"Thanks Mina." You smiled at the energetic pink girl, her smile was infectious.
"Yeah, you look totally sick too! I'm digging the pink." Mina and Hatusme high-fived and you all conglomerated outside the arcade. Kirishima released his hold on Bakugou and smiled brightly at you, throwing a heavy arm over your shoulder, careful not to hit the large wings protruding from your back.
"All right now that we're all here! [Name]-chan what do you want to do first, it's your celebration after all." Kirishima's humble chivalry was obvious in every action he did. It was so natural you knew he didn't force it in the slightest, he genuinely wanted you to have fun and that made you smile. He was yet another person to add to your (small) group of friends that seemed worthwhile.
"I don't care. I've never been so you guys can pick." You smiled slightly, ready to experience something new and exciting. Casino's looked fun in the movies you'd watched with Aizawa so you were hoping what looked to be a more gamer-centric casino would be just as fun in real life. Apparently instead of cash you win tickets to exchange for a prize... aka the non-government acceptable cash.
"Ok then we can play-" Kirishima was cut off by a shove from the one and only resident hot head.
"Outta my damn way shitrags." Bakugou grabbed a hold of your arm and started dragging you to the back of the arcade, you were looking around as he dragged you. The bright lights and crazy looking games seemed fun. "You wanted a challenge huh? Well if an idiot like you can beat me in one of these games, I'll let you get your ass kicked by me in a real fight."
"Oh I wanna join. A competition like this is so manly! Mina-chan, Kaminari-kun, Hatsume-chan join in!"
"Hells yeah! And the final challenge will be only the greatest game ever Dance Dance Revolution."
"Oh no, all those arrows move too fast and make my brain feel likes going to explode."
"Anything that involves any kind of skill makes your brain explode sparky."
"MEI!"
"Do whatever you want just stay the hell outta our way." Bakugou's crimson eyes narrowed with warning before he dragged you to a game called Mortal Combat. Bakugou picked a character called Scorpion, who looked badass with his yellow and black ninja suit and you picked some dude named Sub-Zero who was wearing blue and black, you could practically see the frost from his breath as the character breathed. The screen explained the controls and how to do combo moves and as the countown began you gripped the remote in your lithe fingers.
The game started and immediately Bakugou went on the attack. The only thing you could do was block but you'd forgotten the button so with using some move of catching you with a sickle and chain then sending you to the pits of hell, Bakugou had your shield down without you even being able to land a hit. This game was brutal, at one point he'd snapped your fighters spine. You watched his fingers carefully, how skillfully he moved from each button and the combinations he hit to win. His cocky smirk was stretched across his features as he looked down on you.
"That was awful. If this is how you're going to play every game this shit ain't worth my time." You huffed in annoyance, you didn't think you'd lose so badly. His stupid taunting the entire first part of the match was riling you up slightly, you were competitive and wanted to win.
"Fuck off." He scoffed.
"I can speak English I'm not a fucking dumbass."
"Great, that means you understand what I want." Sub Zero got up from his fatality and the round started. This round was more back and forth, when Bakugou landed a basic hit you'd countered with a combo and vice versa. Your drastic skill increase pissed him off but the competition was fun. You were powering up to freeze Scorpion and then hit him and rip his spine out but before you could land the fatal attack moves, Bakugou went into a portal and landed behind you, hitting you with the Shirai Ryu Fire and you died.
"Crap. Crap. Crap."
"Suck on that wings, you're not in my league and you damn well never will be."
"Yeah yeah, whats next?" A smile was on your face, you were annoyed you'd lost but this was definitely fun. Kaminari and Kirishima were engaged in a headed game of Mario Kart and Mina and Hatsume were playing some shooting game, one that Hatsume was basically getting a perfect score on. Apparently she knew how the machine worked and was able to hit everything perfectly. You went over to play Air Hockey, tis game was more your speed and you won 7 to 6. Bakugou was infuriated, smoke was emitting from his palms and the handle he was holding had melted at the top.
Everyone was enjoying their time playing games, Bakugou had beaten you in most of them. Actually you didn't just lose to Bakugou, you'd lost at every game you'd played against everyone. Except ski-ball, some basketball game, and air hockey. The greatest moment was when Hatsume destroyed Bakugou in Street Fighter and took his high score. You'd never seen someone flip out so aggressively and even after demanding a re-match, he still got his ass kicked leaving the explosive boy fuming.
"And for the final game of the night! The one the only DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION! We're doing this tournament style, everyone is on expert."
"Mina-chan you're the only dancer here, that's so not manly."
"So, you're all heroes in the making if you cant handle this who says you can handle a villain." She waved Kirishima off and made Kaminari and Sero go first. They were both bad, at least you assumed by the amount of X's they were getting they sucked. Sero just barely pulled through for the win. Next was Kirishima and Bakugou, Kirishima was stiff and he got beaten but he took the loss well. Then was you versus Hatsume, you were surprisingly good at the game. Your feet were fast and you could process the moves easily.
It was like training with your grandfather, you had to memorize movements quickly and replicate them less you get punished so this was a way to put that training to use. Everyone noticed how graceful you seemed to move, each step was calculated yet looked so effortless like a trained ballerina. Your wings didn't even get in the way, in fact to everyone watching they only seemed to enhance the performance. It seemed to fit well with the way you fought, fast, agile, and precise.
"Damn [N/n]-chan, I didn't know you can dance. Finally! Someone else who will dance with me."
"Yeah [name]-chan that was awesome when'd you learn how to dance?"
"I didn't? I guess when Hizashi was teaching me how to cook we'd dance around the kitchen. Besides, this is more like reading the pattern of someone's attack than anything else."
"Awe Hybrid still as murdery as ever, sometimes I forget how weird you are and then you say something like that."
Mina did a round with Sero and she completely destroyed him. Her moves were athletic and slick, like a hip hop dancer and the smile never left her face as she let the music flow through her in each movement. Her dancing was bright and unique, just like her, it was amazing.
"Hey Bakugou I bet you couldn't beat [Name]-chan or Mina-chan. You look like you're trying to squash ants, not dancing." Sero was grinning teasingly towards the pissed off ash-blonde. As much as he feared Bakugou, teasing the easily angered boy was entertaining.
"Haah? Shut your dammed mouth you shitty excuse for office supplies I could beat wings or raccoon eyes without breaking a fuckin' sweat. Dammit wings, get your ass up there, we're next." Bakugou was on the other set of controls, angrily stomping to find a song while you waited for him to pick. he settled on a song you'd never heard before but it had a nice beat. It started out slow, the steps easy to access for the bot of you until the chorus hit and it increased the speed of the steps tenfold.
You missed one or two but continued dancing, swaying your hips and letting yourself enjoy the music, even better than the music though was the angry profanity coming from Bakugou as he missed more and more steps.
"Fuck, gah. Shitty Hair get up here and do the right side." Bakugou wanted to punch himself for losing to you on his own, he never wanted to ask for help. Only a fucking loser would ask for help but at least Kirishima wouldn't ridicule for him demanding aid. he would rather let that red head help him than lose to you in something, especially when it annoyed him on how natural and good you looked doing it.
"Isn't that cheating man?"
"NO, its you being a man and getting me to win." He grit out, almost choking on the words as he continued stomping on the arrows.
"Ok! Lets do it. Come on Sero-kun, Kaminari-kun lets help our bro out." Each one of the boys took an arrow and began hitting it on beat.
"Oh that looks fun, come on Hatsu-chan lets help [N/N]-chan!" Mina gripped the pink haired support student and they both jumped on the platform with you. With the two extra help and the greater sense of rhythm between you females, the boys got destroyed. In a slightly messy choreographed dance, Mina and Hatsume urged you to let loose and let the music flow so you did and all three of you on the small DDR platform danced the best you could together, laughing and stumbling slightly song after song. Which to the boys upset, even with 4 people they still couldn't win.
Bakugou was pissed, he'd lost more times today than he had in his entire life. Sure he'd never played DDR, it was a girly as shit game but to lose it to someone else who'd never played games in her life was triggering to say the least. Kirishima and Kaminari on the other hand were smiling brightly, you looked so free and happy with a child-like gleam in your eyes as you experienced something new.
The way your hair flowed with each movement of your body, the slightly bigger than normal smile on your face, the way your body didn't seem to be coiled to strike like it usually is was entrancing and exciting. Just for the moment you'd forgotten where you came from, you were just [Name] but all that came crashing down when a few people you went to school with showed up.
Kaminari was the first to notice them so he maneuvered to be by your side at the impending conflict. Bakugou Kirishima, and Sero watched the movement in confusion not understanding what was happening. Hatsume noticed them as well and her happy smile just twisted into one with a bit more snarl.
Mina also being a girl could read the atmosphere surrounding the trio of females making their way over, being pink skinned had gotten her enough issues to know what was going on. When you noticed the icy eyed blonde and her friends the smile on your face dropped into that of your bored placid one and your muscles tensed back into their guarded state.
"Oh my gosh is that Tenshi-san. Wow I can't believe your still alive with all those people out there wanting your head. I would have hoped by now that the police force would have done the right thing and ended your pathetic life before you continued on that fruitless hero journey. It's not like anyone wants a psychopath like you to save them." Everyone was stunned into silence at the harsh words making the blonde and her friends laugh giddily. "Oh no." She placed her hand over her mouth in fake surprise. "Did I crush your pathetic dreams of you being a hero, murderer?"
"No, not in the slightest, I was hoping for you to stop existing and leave me alone but that didn't work out. I guess your right, my dreams don't come true." You said blandly, waiting for them to leave. Once Amaya realized you wouldn't actually do anything to her fear was washed away and she took to trying to make your life miserable in secondary school. Hatsume blatantly laughed at your response, you really were Aizawa's surrogate daughter. Only living with someone who had as dry of humor as Aizawa would make your responses shift from pure anger-inducing confusion to slightly snarky bored sounding responses.
"A week at UA and you're already a pompous ass. Father is right, heroes are nothing but showboating jerks with little minds."
"You wanna say that again you damned extra?! I AIN'T NO LOSER! I'M GOING TO BE THE NUMBER ONE HERO AND A FUCKER LIKE YOU WILL BOW BEFORE ME!" Bakugou could feel his palms ready to blow at this girl who dared to disrespect him. You stepped slightly in front of him, the confrontational person Bakugou is would be a problem and you just wanted the girls to leave.
"Case and point." Oh well, she looked your friends over with scrutinizing eyes and scoffed, flipping her hair behind her as she left, no longer in the mood to hang out at the arcade. "Ta Ta."
Kirishima was frowning, sure he'd dealt with mean people. before he decided to go to UA he had no idea who he wanted to be and was pretty cowardly so people were mean but girls were so much worse and because of circumstances they didn't know about. he checked over you to see if you were sad, oh god If you cried he'd freak out. But you honestly seemed ok, just the slightest downturn to your lips was the only indication of what happened.
"Hey Angel-face It's been a while since you've eaten, do you want to go to a hot pot restaurant? There's one nearby." Your eyes widened and you grinned, squeezing onto Kaminari unbearably tight in excitement.
"Mhm that sounds so good Kaminari-kun, [n/n]-chan. We should make it super spicy and see who can eat the most. I bet Hatsume-chan will win, she seems like the person to be so engrossed in a project that she could eat anything and it wouldn't bother her."
"Thats pretty accurate." You responded, looking at Hatsume who was busy toying with a small ball of god-knows-what.
"That sounds so manly, right Bakugou-kun?" The red-head gave Bakugou a thumbs up and grinned in excitement of the 'manly' dinner to come.
"Sure cuz imma fuckin' win." The ash blonde shoved his hands in his pockets and smirked. He was going to end the night on a win and get to eat his favorite kind of food...spicy. He was going to make it so hot all of you would cry.
A/N: Yay some more bonding with some classmates. Bakusquad is officially a go...not that you are only in his team! Don't worry though cuz we'll see more of our green bean soon, I just wanted a fun chapter to set up before some things go down. I hope you like it and thanks for reading!
