Anna and Leo had arrived back in Berlin by the late afternoon and decided to go pick up Val on the way before going to their home. Carlos drove through the driveway and pulled the car over in front of the entrance. And once Leo and Anna were out of the car, he parked the car at one corner and got out of the car.

Leo and Anna entered inside and stopped by the common hall. Anna pouted when she didn't see anyone coming down to see her.

"My bad, they don't have any idea about our returning, I didn't inform them," Leo said amusedly beside her. Anna threw him a fake glare before turning to her front.

"Jo! Vernon! Val! Zio! Nonno!!" She shouted each of their names.

"Momma! Papa!" Val was the first one to encounter them downstairs. He grinned happily and ran down the stairs. Anna ran halfway towards him and hugged him tightly.

"I missed you so much, my love," She said softly before pulling away and places waves of kisses over his face. Val simply giggled happily. Leo came beside them and curved down, embracing both his wife and son into his arms.

"What a lovely family reunion!" Vernon said amusedly as he descended down the stairs. "I'm going to kill you, Leo. You should have at least told us about your returning," He fake chided threw him a pointed look.

"My princess," Vernon cooed softly as she stretched his arms wide opened and strolled towards him. Anna made a babyface and hugged her brother tightly.

"My wife surely is too pampered by her brothers," Leo said amusedly looking at them.

"She's our treasure and you better don't make her cry or I'll come hunting you," Vernon warned playfully. Anna pulled away and looked up at his brother.

"How's Nonno?" She asked.

"Nonno's doing fine, Tessa," Joshua answered as he descended down the stairs along with Fiona. Anna smiled widely on noticing Fiona and quickly ran towards her and hugged her tightly.

"When did you come, Fiona?" Anna asked after pulling away.

"Actually, I never left," Fiona answered under her chuckled.

"Fiona stayed back and looked after the after-wedding works and also she has been looking after Val and Nonno while we were away," Joshua explained in a grateful tone. "But I'm hurt, you forgot me and ran directly into her," He crossed his arms over his chest and pretend to be upset at her.

"Sorry, my dear brother," Anna said in a whining tone before throwing her arms over her brother. Joshua wrapped his arms over her and chuckled heartily.

Leo went towards Fiona and exchange warm hugs.

"Fiona," Anna called out to her after pulling away and smile widely at her, "You should marry my brother and stay here forever," She said in a jested tone but she actually meant it. "See my brother," Anna placed her palm just below Joshua's chin like she was explaining a model. "He is tall and very handsome. He is rich and his body is what most girls die for. Don't you think?" Anna said making all of them laugh at her.

"Alright, my dear little sister, stop matchmaking and tell us about your honeymoon," Joshua said casually to which Anna started to blush.

"Our bed became our best asset," Leo said bluntly under his chuckled making everyone stifled a laugh while Anna blushed harder.

"Alright, Anna, come with me, let's have some girl's moment," Fiona said amusedly before pulling her by her hand.

"I'm coming too," Val looked up at both of them with puppy eyes.

"Sure, honey," Anna smiled and lifted him on her arms.

Right after the ladies left the placed, the three of them settled on the couch. Joshua and Vernon suddenly turned serious and looked at Leo. Leo doesn't know what actually happened but by the look of them, he could sense a tension building up in the air.

"Did something happen while I was away?" Leo asked in a serious tone.

"I guess that Sylvester's bastard Lorenzo made it out alive," Joshua said gravely and both the brothers started to explain to him what happened earlier in the morning.

"I have ordered my men to look for him everywhere along with Tatiana. I have talked with Roberto about this matters some minutes ago. We cannot take the risk, we have to be on vigilant until we encounter those two." Joshua said in a very serious manner.

After spending some hours with the family members, Leo and Anna took Val and left for home by the evening. Leo has been absorbed in his own thought through the ride while Anna and Val were soundly asleep over his chest and shoulder. He placed soft kissed on both of their heads and stared at them.

"I'll protect and keep both of you safe no matter what," He whispered softly.

Anna stood in front of the hospital entrance and sighed happily before entering inside. It's been nearly three weeks that she has been off work.

"Anna," Layla squealed happily and ran towards her, embracing her into a tight hug. "You're back already," He said after pulling away.

"Yeah, I missed my works," Anna said cheekily.

"You are such a workaholic. You should have spent more time with your husband," Layla said under her pursed lips and shook her head in disapproval. Anna simply chuckles at her.

"I'll see you at lunch," Anna smile amusedly at her before walking away into the hallway.

Anna received tones of congratulatory words from her patients as well as from her staffs and workers. Her day seemed a lot better than usual. She also spent her time listening to some of her patient's married love stories and lunch together with them along with Layla.

After lunch, Anna spent the rest of her day in her cabin, going through research papers and patient's reports. Her phone suddenly rang up, making her drew her attention towards it from the papers. An immediate smile formed on her lips on seeing her husband name's over her phone screen.

"Yes, honey," She answered cheerfully over the phone.

"When will you be off from work?"

"In an hour," Anna answered glancing at her wristwatch. "My night schedule is quite free, Mr. Monroe has covered most of my schedule while I was away."She said amusedly.

"Then I have to thank Mr Monroe for that, at least my wife won't be away with works at night." Leo chuckled softly. "Wish he could cover your day schedule as well so that I can have my wife with me all the time,"

"Selfish," Anna pouted at him but Leo simply chuckled at her word.

"Val and I are coming to town, we'll come and pick you up from work and return home together," Leo informed.

"Alright, I'll be waiting, see you later, honey. I love you." Anna said softly under her smile.

"Love you too, Mio coure,"

Anna smiled widely before hanging up the call.

Anna stood by the entrance and waited for Leo. Her staff members and workers greet her goodbyes as they walked passed by her and she returned them with the same gesture.

"Dr Anastasia," Anna snapped to her right and her eyes went wide in surprised looking at her beloved senior.

"Dr Jonah, you're back!" Anna exclaimed before exchanging quick hugs with him.

"I came back a week ago but I have to go back again. I came here to report about the situation and condition happening in Morocco," Jonah informed with a small smile.

"Is the condition still very bad?" Anna asked in concern.

"The spreading disease is somehow controlled but the cure is still unknown. Our researchers are doing their best to find a cure." He said. "Safety measures have been spread through the country and some minor treatments have been done to the infected ones. So the situation is somehow controlled." He informed.

"That's good to know. Thank you so much for the hard work." Anna said sincerely before letting out a worried sighed.

"Rest assured, Anna. Dr Monroe and I have talked already. Things are getting better there." Jonah said in an assuring tone. Anna smiled and nodded at him.

"Oh-by the way, congratulations on your wedding," He congratulated her with a genuine smile.

"Thank you, Dr Jonah," Anna smiled widely at him.

"Anastasia," Leo called behind her before coming beside her.

"You're here," Anna said softly glancing at Leo, "Dr Jonah, this is my husband, Leo and Leo, this is Dr Jonah, one of my senior doctors," She introduced them to each other.

"Nice to meet you, Leo," Dr Jonah said politely and extended his hand for a shake.

"Nice to meet you too," Leo said with a curt nod before accepting his shake. Then he turned to Anna and smiled down at her, "Shall we go, Anastasia?" He said tilting his head.

Anna creased her brows at the way he was addressing her with her official name. Needlessly, she nodded at him before saying goodbye to Jonah.

Val popped his head out from the window and grinned widely looking at his parents. Anna smiled widely at him before going around and sitting on the passenger's seat. Leo got inside the car and closed the car door roughly. Anna snapped at him and creased her brows at him.

"Are you okay?" Anna asked in concern.

"I'm fine," Leo answered in a deadpanned tone before hitting on the gas and driving off. Anna narrowed her eyes at him for a moment before looking away from him and stared to her front.

The ride back home was silent and eerie. Leo hadn't spoken a single word which was very unlike him. Once the reached home, Leo got out of the car immediately and took the vegetable bag from the back seat.

"C'mon, Val," He said and marched inside the house along with their son. Anna let out a sigh and crossed her arms over her chest before strolling inside the house.

Anna impatiently waited outside the bathroom with her arms crossed over her chest. Leo was really acting strange today. He didn't speak a word to her after returning home-he didn't even spare a glanced at her during dinner. She had enough of his silent treatment for an unknown reason.

Leo walked out of the bathroom only with sweatpants and shirtless and was immediately greeted by his wife. He ignored her and walked past by her, rubbing his towel over his damped hair.

Anna sighed in annoyance before letting her hands fall to her sides and turned to look at her husband who was now seated on the bed.

"What's going on Leo?" She asked standing in front of him.

"Nothing," Leo answered, not looking up at her.

"Yah-" She shouted at him making him startled in his position and looked up at her in wide eyes opened. "What do you mean nothing? You're acting really weird today. Are you upset with me?" Anna asked in a raising and impatient tone.

"I'm just-" Leo sighed and unknowingly glared at her.

"Did you just glare at me?" Anna asked in a scowled and pointed an accusation finger at him.

"No, I'm just-"

"What you're just! What's with your face?" Anna said in a chiding tone. Leo sighed before standing up from the bed and going around to the other side of the bed.

"Ah, it's nothing,"

"You are being cold right now," Anna wasn't listening to him and was just throwing tantrum over him. "Why are you getting mad at me? Did I do something wrong? Tell me."

"No, I'm sorry," Leo sighed.

"What are you being sorry for?" Anna crossed her arms over her chest and asked in a raised tone.

Leo palmed his face with both his hands and let out a straining groan. Anna eyes went wide and worried surfaced in her feature.

"What's wrong?" She asked in concern, quickly coming around and standing beside him. Leo removed his hands from his face and let out a sigh before meeting her eyes.

"You have blinded me, honey. Why are you so pretty?" Leo said under his cheeky smile. Anna chuckled at him before slapping him hard on his arm. Leo faked a groaning before curling up on the bed, saving himself from another attack from her. Anna pouted at him and curled on the bed trying to reach him. Then they knelt on the bed and came face to face.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have acted that way," Leo said sincerely, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her closer to him. Anna pouted at him and landed a light slap over his chest.

"You're gonna tell me the reason for your act."
