Chapter Three; Save the day

Lilli was starring at the boxes that had toppled over and was in a pile against the door. She was waiting for Barry and his foster family to come to her rescue.
"Lilli!?" A female voice echoed threw her house. Iris, the Barista that got her number for Barry.
"Upstairs!" Lilli exclaimed. Three pairs of feet run up the stairs and to the door that was open, Joe and Barry peered over the boxes and saw Lilli criss cross.
     "You okay?" Barry asks.
"I'm fine, if I move one of these boxes the rest well topple me" She replied.
"Okay, start from the top" Joe instructed. Iris and Barry started taking boxes from the top, Joe started to, but he was a bit slower.
"Where should we put em?" Iris asks.
"The bedroom to the left" Lilli said. She tried to find a way to help.
The three of them worked fast, moving boxes and putting them in the spare room. Soon enough, Lilli was able to climb out.
     "You good?" Barry asks.
"Yes, thank you" Lilli replied, but Iris saw Lilli's leg.
"No your not! Your leg is bleeding" Iris exclaimed, pointing to Lilli's pant leg with the red that was slowly spreading across her grey sweats.
"Oh my god" Joe says, Barry bent down and rolled Lilli's pant leg up. It was a cut that went up her calve, mostly flesh wound but it was bleeding.
"Not to bad, but you are bleeding quite a bit" Barry says.
"Do you have a first aid kit?" Iris asks.
"In the bathroom" Lilli replied, Barry sits her down on a desk in the hallway.
"I'm Joe West by the way" Joe introduces himself to the brunette.
"Lilli James" Lilli replied, shaking the mans hand. Iris rushed out of Lilli's bathroom and took out some cotton balls and a bandage wrap.
Barry started cleaning Lilli's cut, and Iris worked on fixing a bandage to wrap her cut in. Joe notices Lilli wasn't wincing in pain as Barry dabbed rubbing alcohol onto the open wound.
"You really are strong if you can't feel the stinging" Joe commented.
"Let's just say me and pain don't see eye-to-eye" Lilli replied.
"There" Iris says, she made sure the bandage was secure an looked at Lilli with a smile.
"Thanks again" Lilli said, "Would you guys like something to drink? I have to repay you some how"
"Anything alcoholic? I haven't had any in weeks!" Iris asks, earning a glare from her father.
"Sadly no, but I do have coffee and ice tea" Lilli replied. Getting off the desk and making her way down to the kitchen, her three saviours tailing behind.
"So when did you love to Central City?" Iris asks.
"Well I was born here originally, but I moved away after I graduated. I got my bachelors degree and became a reporter. That's when I got an offer for Central City Picture news" Lilli replied, pouring ice tea into 4 cups.
"Wait! Your the girl I'm supposed to show around tomorrow!" Iris said in a sudden realization, "The reporter from Gotham. Your work is amazing"
Giggling at the sudden praise, Lilli held her hand up to calm the other girl down. "I thought you were a barista" She says, handing the cups to Joe and Barry.
"Side job to get me by, until my reporting career takes off" Iris replies, taking a sip from her cup.
"Well, I'll be sure to help with that" Lilli replied, taking a sip from her own cup.
"Me and Joe can finish moving the boxes to the spare room if you want" Barry said. Joe immediately knew what he meant, they were just gonna head upstairs and than Barry would do his thing with speed.
"I couldn't ask you to do that, you helped enough" Lilli replied.
"No, no. We can handle it, you girls just talk about reporters stuff" Joe insisted. Before Lilli could protest again Joe and Barry walked out of the kitchen.
     "They can be very stubborn"

Barry and Joe stared at the pile of boxes that still kind of blocked Lilli's door. Barry got ready to speed clean while Joe was going to keep watch to be sure neither of the girls came up.
"So what do you think of Lilli?" Barry asks, he started coming back and forth taking boxes into the spare room at super speed.
"She seems very kind and polite. Definitely polite actually" Joe replied, watching as the boy he raised turned into a blur.
Barry slowed down to talk to Joe again, "Trustworthy?" He asks, speeding again.
"I guess.. Your not thinking about.." Joe trailed off as his son once again slowed down.
"Telling if her I'm the streak?" Barry asks, finishing the pile.
"It could be a danger" Joe said, "Putting her at risk, you hardly know her"
"Me being associated with her in anyway is putting her at risk" Barry says leaning against the wall. There was still a few boxes on the floor at the door.
     "You like her" Joe smirked.
"What?" Barry asks, taken back a bit.
"You like her. You want to tell her your secret, but you're worried about her safety of knowing you" Joe says, crossing his arms and smiling at the young man.
"Well, I do kinda like her. She's kind of like me, she likes to rant, she's very polite" Barry listed.
"Ask her out" Joe says, "I bet you she'll say yes"
"I hardly know her" Barry said, Joe chuckled and patted his sons shoulder.
"You'll see in time. Your gonna regret not asking her out"
