Chapter Nine: Dating the Good guy
Lilli
I was walking into the precinct. Again with being a criminals sister in a room full of cops.
"Lilli" I hear a familiar voice. I turn to see Eddie and Joe.
"Hey" I say.
"What you doing here?" Joe asks.
"Barry and I have a lunch date" I say.
"Oh, so spending the night together wasn't enough?" Eddie asks, jokingly.
"Hardly any talk" I fire back. Causing Joe to nearly spit his coffee out. "Kidding, we talked a lot"
"I'm so done with everyone talking about their personal lives with my kids around me" Joe says, "I'm going to do my report"
"I'll show you to Barry's lab" Eddie says. We make our way up the steps and towards two large sliding doors.
I peak my head in and see Barry, Iris, and a blonde. "Hey, Barr" Eddie says. "Brought your girlfriend up"
Barry spun around and smiled. "Hey, Lilli" he says.
I take his hand and smile. "Hey" I say.
"The great Lilli. I'm Felicity Smoak, Barry's friend" the blonde says holding her hand out.
"Hi" I say. We shake hands and smile.
"I get it now, you two are cute together" She says. I look at Barry who smiled at me.
"Well we should be going. I'm starving" Barry says. "Come on Lilli, before they start making jokes"
I chuckle as we walk out, I turn to look at Iris. Gesturing to give my number to Felicity.
Barry kept his hand in mine as we walked towards the elevator. "Allen!" I hear someone command. We both turn around. "Are you off for lunch?"
"Yes, Captain Singh" Barry says, not taking his hand away from me. That made me smile, he wasn't afraid to show everyone I was his.
"Oh, you are?" Captain Singh asks.
"Lilli James. Barry's–" I stop as I look at Barry.
"Girlfriend. She's my girlfriend" he says.
"Oh well. Finally, in the time you've worked here you've never had one" Singh says. "I think I've seen you somewhere"
"I attended the party last night for the precinct workers. And I'm a reporter" I say.
"No. You were at Lilac Snarts funeral" Singh says with realization.
"Oh.. Right" I say. I look down at Barry. "They had her funeral here in Central City. Police surrounded it, in hopes Leonard or Lisa Snart would appear"
"Oh" he says.
I look back at Singh. "Yes I was at the funeral. We were roommates. Friends. She wasn't like her family" I say dully.
"Obviously. She had a lot of non-criminal friends there" he says. "I'll let you guys go. Nice meeting you, Lilli"
I just nod and turn with Barry to walk out. "You okay?" He asked, concern lacing his voice.
"Yea. Totally fine" I say, faking a smile.
"No your not" he says. "Were you upset he talked about Lilac?"
"No.. I'm use to talking about her. I'm just upset that he had over 30 police crashing my best friends funeral" I reply.
"Do you want to just go for a drive? I can borrow Iris' car, we can pick up some Big Belly Burger and go to a place I use to hang out whenever I was upset" he asks.
"Sounds like the best idea ever" I truly smile.
"Okay. I'll go get her keys" he says. Planting a kiss on my cheek before rushing off.
I'm liking this whole dating a good guy thing...
