IX : Golden

Oh, baby, look what you started,
                   The temperature rising in here.

"..." I was shocked and blown away since the moment his lips touched mine, even now that we separated, i was still speechless.

He smirked, patted gently on my cheeks. Then ran his fingers through his hair and walk back to his table as if nothing ever happened.

I touched my lips, said good bye to my first kiss. Well, it wasn't romantic, fairytales like I imagined, but it wasn't bad. Indeed, i knew that kiss would drive me insane for this whole week, it was wild and dreamy.

The right word would be passionate.

"That wasn't necessary." I said softly.

"It doesn't have to be." He grabbed a pen, going back to paperwork, i don't think he's actually writing anything, he just played with my poor heart.

"Remind me again, sir. We've known each other not longer than a week aren't we?"

   He nodded slowly. "Yes, dear."

"Don't you think it's too fast for a kiss?" Alright, if he going to be blunt and honest and so i will.

   "No."

   "But it came swiftly."

"Then you should beware of what's going to happen swiftly between us on next week."

Don't do that to me, Parker. Don't give me that look on your face, don't make me getting weaker when i look at you.

I decided to look away, there's no point trying to compete against Mr.Parker's eyes because he would win anyway, the feeling of his lips still touched onto my mouth like a golden tattoo, god knows it'll be permanent.

"I'll be away for a while."

   "What?"

He told me out of the blue.

   "I'll be going away."

   "Where?" I asked.

   "Nevada. It's business."

   "When will you return?"

   "A week at least."

He threatened me of what's going to happen between us next week and now he want to leave for a week?

What is this feeling? I've never felt scare when someone leaves before, i've always rely on myself. I swallowed up and nodded along, he must've noticed that i look down, so he abandoned his paperwork and walked over.

   "Don't want me to go?"

"I was just... wondering when will i start an internship here."

   "Not for long."

He turned around, but I grabbed the edge of his suit. "Sir?"

"Yes?" I secretly admired his face under these lights, what a perfection.

"What is it between us exactly...?"

"What do you think it is?"

He just said so, didn't expect any answer back from me, and walked away again with a very little smile on his face.

.
.
.

"What happened yesterday?" Harrison asked.

"Just...something Mr.Parker need to know." I decided not to tell him about Mr.Martell, he would get really mad.

"Mr.Parker again? Are you going to see him everyday?"

"He just told me yesterday he will go to Nevada, so probably not for a while." I spoke as I clean the dishes. Thinking of how he's probably on an airplane right now.

I mean, i should stop thinking about him. He teased me by a kiss then leave me alone for weeks. Besides, he didn't confirm what it was between us, i should be be really mad at him, yet i can't.

Someone called on my phone, i hurried up and walked to the back. Then stopped in surprise, Charlene was there, holding my phone.

"Charlene?"

"This is your new phone?" She smiled, the most annoying person award goes to Charlene.

"Yes, can i have it back?"

"Oh! Look~ it's Peter Parker calling."

I walked closer, tried to take my phone back, but she wouldn't let me. "Charlene. If you hate me that much, then stop pretending we're friends."

"You ever wonder how come the poorest girl have this expensive phone after she met a rich man? Because i was." She laughed.

"I have to pick that up."

   "The answer is sugar daddy."

"The answer is none of this is your business."

She got angry, stared at me, showing how bad she'd like to murder me. "Disgusting." She said, then throw my phone into the sink filled with water.

She walked away, i ran to the sink, drown my hand in it and grabbed it out.

   "It's waterproof, silly." I whispered.

Ah, shit, i missed two of his calls. I hurried up and call him back, he picked up very fast.

   [Why didn't you pick up?]

"I'm sorry." My fake friend threw the phone you bought for me down the sink but I wouldn't let you know anyway, sir.

   [How's your day?]

He called to ask normal stuff? How sweet.

"Regular, sir. I woke up early to visit mum at the hospital, now i'm working at Caulfield's."

   [Anything special?]

"Well... a cat sneaked in the kitchen today. It was very adorable." Crap, is this ridiculous? I hope he doesn't mind.

(In this story you love cats bc you're soft and and smol in Peter's eyes.)

He didn't say anything, got me worried if i'm acting too close to him. But after a while of silence he surprised me.

[I didn't want to come here, you know?]

   "Oh..."

[I'd rather be there with you.]

All my senses were lightened up like a butterflies was flying around me, i felt that kissed, it felt so real even when he's not here.

"I hoped you'd stayed." I told him softly.

Parker's pov :

Her voice was very soft, like she meant what she said. A hole of loneliness inside me grown even stronger now that she's not here.

I tried not to get attached too fast, one day she might realize the kind of person i am and leave. But nobody said it was easy to just do so.

I meant what i said too, i never wanted to leave if my god dame factories haven't fucked up in Nevada. I hope she won't hate me one day because my schedule is always full.

"I wanted to stay." I said. "Maybe we shouldn't stopped at a kiss."

[Don't teased me now.] I can see her smile through her voice.

I didn't know what to say next, she should get back to work and so should i. I ended up sighed very quiet so that she can't hear then told her.

   "Later, baby."

   [Later, sir.]

   She replied.

Back to real world, Nora walked to me, that face told me she wanted to ask for something.

"Sir, i was wondering if i can take a night out today, i'm going to visit Ardy."

That's right, her girlfriend lives here. And yes she is lesbian, that's why she never tried to flirt with me, which is why I hired her.

"Go ahead, but be here fast tomorrow." I nodded, she smiled and walked out, i sat on the chair, staring at the city, wishing (Y/n) were here.

My phone rang, strange number, my eyebrows twisted, not many people in the world know my number.

   I picked up slowly. "Hello?"

The voice was crack and noisy like it was spoken by a robot, the sentence was not complete, some are missing out, but what i heard was.

[...Was..it..g..od..idea...t..o...lea..e..her..al.one?...]

   A threatened message.

Was it a good idea to leave her alone?
