It was a clear day in Green Hills and both Sonic and Sarah randomly raced each other.

Sonic speeds up, laughing. "What's the matter, Spectra? Can't keep up? Too fast for you?"

Sarah speeds up next to him and responded with a smirk. "Nah! I say this is more of a challenge."

He chuckled and decided to run his max speed--Speed of sound. "Woo! I'm the fastest thing alive and I'm gonna win!"

The finish line was in sight as Sarah starts to run lightspeed, forming her iconic blue rainbow. "Not in this lifetime, hedgehog!"

Both were tied....Again and the checkered line was closing in.

"Yes! I'm gonna win! Se ya later, Alice!" Sonic feels triumphant and ran it faster while unkmowingly kicking up a whirlwing of dust.

Sarah coughs while still running and starts to lose control of her legs. "Sonic, slow down!"

"And lose? No!" He kicked up a deep brown dust cloud and successfully crossed that finish line.

"Haha! Yes! I knew I was still the fastest!" Sonic looks back to congratulate Sarah just to find that she was on the ground before she hit the finish line.

Sarah seemed to be in deep physical pain as she held on to her whole right leg. "Ow...." That was all she said as tears fell out of her eyes.

Sonic feels guilty and runs back to her, concerned. "Sarah? You okay?" She seemed alright but he saw that her leg was bruising real badly. "Oh, shoot. That looks really bad even though you fell. I am really really sorry there." He hung his head low in guilt. "I shouldn't have done that brown dust cloud that blocked your sight. Again, I'm really sorry."

Sonic feeling all terrible helps her up just to find out her leg was possibly broken. "No broken bones. Good. Just really bad bruising. But that can be taken cared of more easily."

He smiled and decided to carry her back to the finish line with him and dedicates them both as the winners--Tied.

"Sonic, why?" She asked. He looked at her happily. "Because even those who fall are also winners. We all are our own winner because even though it loked like we lost, in the end, we technically win against our own enemies."

She nodded and accepted the tie. "Good game, blue boy." He chuckled a bit. "And good game to you, too, Blue Floyd."

The very next day, Sarah was in Sonic's room wrapped in an ace bandage in his bed alone. She felt a bit disappointed at her loss but it didn't bother her.

Maddie came in and greeted her. "How are you feeling, dear?"

She shrugged. "Just want some company. Feeling down a bit from losing."

Maddie gently hugged her, carefully avoiding her right leg that was wrapped up in an ace bandage from the first aid kit. "Well, you still got me and Ozzy but you do have a small visitor."

She went curious as the visitor comes in to see her--Turning out to be Sonic. "Sonic?"

He waved at her, holding something behind his back. "Heh, hey."

She scoffed and looked away in a bit of anger. "I can't run for awhile thanks to the dust cloud you made."

He sighed, feeling both guilty and sorry a bit and wanted to make it up to her. "Sarah, I'm sorry. I wanna make it up to you since I know this was all my fault. Will you forgive me and still accept me as your friend?"

Sarah sighs and looked at Maddie. "Should I?"

"Should you?" Maddie asked.

Sarah looked back at Sonic as he slightly blushed, handing her a dozen light blue roses with a get well soon card stating that he felt bad for her fall.

Sarah just looked at them. "I don't know, Sonic."

He sighed and brings out a sleeping bag while planning to stay with her until she feels better. "I wanna stay with you and I will until at least I make things up to you. I wanna make you happy again and still wanna remain friends."

Sarah looks at him weirdly like he lost his mind but he truly did wanted to truly make it up to her.

"Please? May you forgive me and give me another chance?" Sonic begged as he hands her the roses and card shyly and while still seriously feeling bad.

Without noticing, Sarah smiled and accepts both his offer and apology. "Okay. Okay, you're forgiven. I can sense it."

He becomes a bit happy but still feels terrible about her right leg and its bad condition. "But....Wjat about your badly bruised leg?"

Her leg was still badly bruised as the injury was still fresh but she shrugged it off. "I've been through way worse and I wouldn't worry about it much."

Maddie agreed. "Just give it awhile to heal, Sonic. Trust me, I'm a vet--An animal doctor. She's in good hands, I promise."

Sonic nodds as sarah watches a movie that was randomly put on--Speed. "Besides, there is one thing you can do  to make things up for me." She said.

"Yeah?" He gotten close to her, curious of what he could do.

She simply asked. "May you watch Speed with me?"

Sonic smiles and lays right next to Sarah while hilding her close without aiming to hurt her. "Absolutely! The main guy is amazing!"

Sarah agreed. "Keanu Reeves is a national treasure, indeed. I love him, too."

He apologizes again and promises her that she will be able to run again momentarily after she heals.

She nodds and accepts him again while watching Speed. "Sonic, just let it go. Don't hold grudges and move on. I'm fine. Promise Maddie has me."

"Right." Sonic nodds and watched Speed with her. "You're awesome, too. Yanno that?"

"And how?" She asked.

"Because you are the best by being your true self and I love that. You're way more better than Keanu."

"Heh- Thanks, Sonic. You are the best, too."
