Bad Times, Good Friends

(Based off a part from the Sonic movie. Leave now if you had not yet seen it. You have been warned.)

"What's the matter, blue devil? Can't go nowhere?" Robotnik had all of Sonic, Tom, his girlfriend and a small brown bag of rings cornered and trapped on top of a building in San Francisco.

"Let us go!" Sonic demanded. "At least let these two humans go!"

"Sonic, don't!" Tom told him in complete hopelessness.

"Oh, I will do more than that. You see? With my machines at it's peak, I shall become undefeated."

Sonic reached to the back of his head and felt a small piece of one of his quills missing. He growled, "You loser! You stole a shedded quill of mine!"

"Indeed! And now, it is mine. Say goodbye, blue boy!" He charged up his lasers when....

"SONIC!" It was a female's voice. She came rolling down towards Robotnik, curled up in a spikey ball, and forced his missles to be aimed skyward.

It was a success. All went upward, completely avoiding Sonic and his human friends. She landed in front of Sonic.

"Well, now. I say you need to be a bit more careful there, chum." She said, giving him a thumbs up.

Sonic smiled and gave her a thumbs up back. "Thanks for the daring save there, Alice."

"Spectra, if you please. Alice is my middle name."

"Right. Spectra."

Robotnik growled angrily. "Now, you REALLY pissed me off!" He charged and aimed his lasers to all of them all at once.

Spectra stood right in front of Sonic as he was standing in front of both Tom and his girlfriend.

"Not today, RoFATnik!" She pulled out a ring that she stole from Sonic's bag and tossed it behind Tom towards the building's door.

It opened into a portal to a ranch. "Go, now! I'll handle this fatso!"

"But....Spectra, what about you?" Sonic asked, pushing Tom and his girlfriend through. "Aren't you gonna come?"

She looked back, both her arms out in full protection with a warm smile. "It's been great traveling with someone really special."

"What are you saying?! Let's go!"

"Sonic....You may think you never had a friend and had a rough life but...." Spectra smiled as Robotnik's lasers was at their fullest charge. "You have a friend. Me. And, I had it way worse than you ever did. I was an abandoned orphan. I had nobody to claim, not even an adopted mother."

Sonic studied her protective stance and was shocked. "Wha-?"

Immediately, he thought of Longclaw, his adopted owl mother. Her memorable words flooding his memories.

"Stay safe, Sonic. I will always be with you." She said in his memories.

With her words, Sonic charged up in complete sadness and hurtfulness. "No....Longclaw. I cannot lose another loved one...."

His lightning abilities went off as he screamed for his one and only friend that he fell in love with.

"No....Spectra....SARAH!" His emerald green eyes poured out tears as Robotnik's robots malfunctioned.

"Sarah?" Spectra was confused who this 'Sarah' was. That's when she immediately remembered him calling her that. It was her nickname to her from him.

She went furious, not standing her close friend hurt. "This is for you, Sonic!" She growled as the wind started to unnaturally pick up and gray stormy clouds immediately rolled in.

Robotnik looked around, confused. "What's going on?"

Lightning struck Spectra as she smirked at him. "Mess with the thunder, you get hit by the lightning and Sonic is my thunder!"

With those words, she made them speak true as she formed a tornado and aimed it towards Robotnik's robots.

"A hedgehog that controls weather when worked up?!" He was even more confused than ever.

Sonic's charged body started to calm down as he saw her blowing robots away like dust bunnies. He smiled with a small sniffle. "My friend....My girlfriend....Sarah."

He ran up to her and hugged her from behind. He whispered to her. "I love you, Sarah. I really, really love you."

Her lime green eyes widened with complete shock when her ears heard those words. "Sonic...." She calmed down, still holding the artificial tornado as it continued to spin Robotnik.

She looked back at Sonic. "Did you really just called me by the nickname you gave me? And am I really someone worth loving?"

He nodded, still crying but not letting his abilities shock her. "Yes and I truly love you, Sarah."

She looked back at a swirling Robotnik and looked at Sonic. She sighed and formed a small harmless tornado. She aimed it towards Sonic and it picked him up.

"What? What's going on?" He asked, being swirled towards the ring portal.

"Taking you to safety." Sarah responded, still holding up Robotnik.

Sonic teared up and begged her. "Please....Come with me. Spend the rest of your life with me."

"Sonic...." She sighed. "Fine. If you wanna spend life with someone who doesn't truly deserve you, then fine." Her tornado held Robotnik temporarily as she lets it go.

"Come on! We don't have much longer until the artificial weather dies down!"

"Will you spend life with me though, Sarah?" Sonic shyly asked. "I secretly liked you but was too scared to admit it."

She smiled and hugged him. "You can heal my heart and my mind with those words. Make them true, please."

He nodded, hugging her back. "I promise."

Tom called out from the other side of the portal. "Sonic! Spectra! Let's go!"

Both hedgehogs stopped hugging each other and nodded.

"Ladies first?"

Sarah rejected and tossed Sonic through.

"WHOA! OOF!" He landed onto Tom.

Sarah looked back and smirked at Robotnik, who gotten himself straight from her artificial tornado. "So long....Eggman~"

She leaped through the ring as it just barely closed on her. Robotnik yelled at himself after what he just witnessed. "I HATE THOSE HEDGEHOGS!"

"AND WE HATE YOU, TOO!" Everyone waved at Robotnik as the ring portal closed for now. Another battle won and new love spawned.
