Explosive Worthlessness (Ingrid/Bernadette)
After a grueling Sunday, Olivia was ready for the pacer, approaching the school floors, only to spot Gira being confronted by a taller woman with ragged, unconditioned blonde hair with an even messy ponytail.
"Speak up dummy."
Olivia hesitated but asked herself if she was really going to watch her friend go through this. She ultimately decided not to, running and grabbing Gira. However, the upperclassmen blocked her before getting into her path.
"And you are?"
"Olivia," stuttering. "Freshmen. We have to get ready, let's go."
The older woman took out a lighter and cigarette in front of them, threatening to burn them.
"No one talks to Burn like that!"
"Did she just refer, to herself in third person, someone's got issues," Gira typed.
"Which one of you said that?"
Olivia pointed to Gira, apologizing much to the latter's anger, about to type O, you sold me out. In response, Olivia politely asked if they could get in.
"Why, it's all pointless. You'll bust your brains out then just feel stupid because of it."
"Well it sucks," wondering what Reiji would say, "but isn't it better if you try a bit. Maybe talk to a friend?"
"Shut up! Well...it's not like I have anyone," lowering her head and sighing. "What the heck am I saying, just go, no one gives a shit about me anyway."
Olivia disagreed. Granted this wasn't a great first impression, but she didn't want anyone else to feel like they had to repeat their words, and reached out.
Then the bell rang, and the ladies knew they had to get to class in the next three minutes. Reiji and Basile arrived in time, but a woman with green hair rolled in with a utility cart.
"Bernadette Kayden!"
That received an embarrassing blush on the titular girl's face. "Don't-don't call me that name!"
"That doesn't matter, you were absent last week, and your homeroom teacher said you missed a ton."
"I didn't ask you to look at my files," Bernadette yelled, only to have the cigarettes taken out of her. The older woman immediately jolted to the quartet of freshmen, greeting them all while holding her fellow senior's face back.
"Ingrid Bernadette, the ninth student council president at your service, and I plan on making my final year one to remember. You all do your best!"
All barring Reiji were overwhelmed by her enthusiastic energy. Bernadette just wanted her cigarette back, lunging at her to do it, but Ingrid side-stepped so fast that the girls couldn't react, and ended up on the top of the cart. Then the stuco president quickly kicked the cart, and Burn yelled for help while Ingrid caught up and held her and the handlebars. The freshmen ran after them.
However, Bernadette begged for Ingrid to make sure she wouldn't fall. The latter promised but they were about to run into a man their age with a firecracker in their hand when the stuco president pumped the brakes and stopped in time.
"Sento, why do you have firecrackers, you'll get expelled!"
"We got a permit from the new principal, it's for clubs tomorrow."
Bernadette rose up, breathing like her life was on the line. "Never do that again," jumping off the cart. However, she dropped her lighter as Ingrid put the firecracker on the cart, which flicked on and lit up the fuse. Sento tried to warn them, but Bernadette grabbed Ingrid by the collar.
"What's wrong with you?"
"I could ask you the same thing. Did you really forget," with her hand on the cart, "ugh, never mind."
The other freshmen arrived in time for them to warn Ingrid and Bernadette as well.
"Forget what?"
"Just come, I'm not letting you go."
Then the fuse went off and pushed itself onto the cart, propelling it, and Ingrid and Bernadette up the stairs, and the two of them held each other to make sure they wouldn't die throughout the floors. Once they got up to the fifth floor, Ingrid threw it away in time and jumped off with her, as it exploded into the garbage can it landed and blew it up.
"Huh, I thought that'd explosion would be bigger. That was close," before blushing at the sight of Ingrid on top of her. "Hey, I didn't ask for your help."
"A true president and hero saves everyone and their cute smiles, even when they don't know they need it. So, you'll come to class?"
"Please, I'll save myself," trying to maintain her facade while flustered. "I'll think about it," looking away before pinching her arm. "Also, get your hands off my breasts!"
Ingrid belched in pain. "Get your breasts off my hands!"
The two of them argued over who touched who first when the door opened, and their apathetic uncaring teacher told them to get inside already before noticing the smoke outside and the ensuing fire.
"Why is the garbage can on fire?"
The two women gazed at each other and silently nodded. "It was a junior," speaking in unison.
The sprinklers went off just as they got inside while the freshmen barely got to class on time.
