KillerMare from a Different Perspective
"So..." Killer said, looking around the HQ with an awkward intrigue. Dream flinched at his sudden voice and looked to his side, where Killer was sitting. Killer had... hesitantly agreed to join the Stars. Dream had never thought that this guy, Nightmare's most loyal dog, someone he knew he'd taken a liking too, would join HIS team. Dream didn't know if he should be excited or not.
What if it was a trick? What if he killed him right here and called Nightmare while he watched his dead body drain of life? Dream knew his anxiety and paranoia was getting the best of him. He just didn't want to accept Killer wanted to change. Didn't Killer have some kind of weird crush on Nightmare anyway? That just made it even more awkward!
He'd always seen Killer protecting his brother on the battlefield more than his actual team. He could see Killer probably always staring straight at Nightmare. Though his brother showed no sort of romantic or friendly interest in him, Killer didn't care whatsoever. He just kept trying to get something out of his reach.
"Uh... yes?" Dream responded. He kept his smile calm, posture straight and aura bright. Though, it didn't seem to have an effect on Killer. Weird. Killer rubbed the back of his neck and looked around. "Nice place ya got here." It'd been at least two hours and that was the only thing he had to say? At least he was trying. "Ah, thank you. Ink, Blue, and I made it ourselves. Well... mostly Ink but me and Blue did try and help out quite a bit." At least the elephant in the room had left them alone. For now.
Dream really wanted to ask why killer switched sides in the first place! It didn't make sense to him at all! "I can read that look on your face." Dream flinched at Killer's sudden words. "Wh..what?" Killer let out an amused huff, one leg crossed over the other. His narrowed eyesockets stared deep into Dream's soul. "You're probably asking yourself... 'why would Killer, Nightmare's loyal dog, EVER think to join my team,' right?" Dream was scared now. A lot more scared than he thought he should've been.
Killer wasn't done just yet. "I'll put it simple to a dumbass like you: For fun." Dream blinked. "Excuse me..?" Killer knew he'd get that kind of reaction and it was perfectly appropriate. "Yep. That's all it is. For fun. I've got no other reason, y'know. I'd never join some goody-two-shoes like you ever. I'm a dog, through and through. But, uh.. just not for you. I don't want to be saved.. or 'fixed,' or whatever weird things you say these days. I just want to see what it's like but I'm sure I'll be gone in under a week."
Oh. He guessed that made sense. Why would Killer ever join him? He was stupid, huh? Thinking gullibly like he always did and getting his hopes up for something that wasn't going to happen. "I see... so, you're that loyal to my brother?" Killer nodded. "Of course I am. I love him after all."
Love. He'd never think he'd hear that word. Especially out of Killer's mouth talking about his brother specifically. He didn't know if he should've been happy or not. Yeah, Nightmare probably found someone who'd stay with him till the end but that meant another person to hold his brother back from a truce if Killer loved him the way he was. "O-oh.. that's.." He couldn't even find words for it. So he just let out the most awkward noise he could ever make...
"E-eheheh.."
